Description
まず、粒径が100μm以下(平均50μm以下)になるまで石炭を粉砕した。そして、粉砕炭100重量部に対してコールタール30重量部を添加して混練した。次に、得られた混練物を15Mpaの圧にて円柱状に押出し成型した後、攪拌処理を施した。その後、還元雰囲気下で500℃、1時間かけて乾留し、水蒸気雰囲気下で950℃、5時間かけて賦活処理を行い、実施例1の活性炭を得た。
攪拌温度を60℃とした以外は実施例1と同様な方法で実施例2の活性炭を得た。
攪拌処理を行わなかった以外は実施例1と同様な方法で比較例1の活性炭を得た。
攪拌処理を、大気中雰囲気下にて60℃で20分間攪拌して行った以外は実施例1と同様な方法で比較例2の活性炭を得た。
攪拌処理を、60℃に保持した押出し成型後の炭を水に投入し、20分間攪拌して行った以外は実施例1と同様な方法で比較例3の活性炭を得た。
粒径3.0mmの市販の球状活性炭(山西玄中化工実業有限公司社製、商品名:QJ2.0)
下記表1に、実施例1及び2、比較例1〜4で得られた各種活性炭の諸物性を示す。なお、比較例3では、攪拌後、塊が出来てしまい、後工程へは回せなかった。
Claims (7)
- 原料活性炭を混練して混練物を得る工程、混練物を成型し造粒炭を得る工程、造粒炭を水蒸気雰囲気下で撹拌処理する工程、を経て得られる、平均長さ/平均直径(L/D)が0.8〜1.2であり、1/1容量ベンゼン吸着量と1/10容量ベンゼン吸着量との差が8.8g/100mL以上であることを特徴とする活性炭。
- 前記1/1容量ベンゼン吸着量が20g/100mL以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の活性炭。
- 前記平均直径(D)が0.5〜10mmであることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の活性炭。
- JIS K1474 5.5に準じて求めた硬さが90%以上であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の活性炭。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の活性炭を吸着材として用いたことを特徴とするキャニスター。
- 請求項1乃至4のいずれかに記載の活性炭を吸着材として用いたことを特徴とする吸気系フィルター。
- 原料活性炭を混練して混練物を得る工程、混練物を成型し造粒炭を得る工程、造粒炭を水蒸気雰囲気下で撹拌処理する工程、を含むことを特徴とする、平均長さ/平均直径(L/D)が0.8〜1.2であり、1/1容量ベンゼン吸着量と1/10容量ベンゼン吸着量との差が8.8g/100mL以上である活性炭の製造方法。
