びんBが吐出口4の正面にないときは、図3に示すように、吐出口4はびんから離隔する方向に移動している。この状態でも塗料は吐出口から連続して流出している。びんセンサ(図示せず)が、びんBが吐出口4の正面に進入してくるのを検知すると、シリンダ6が作動し、図2に示すように吐出口4がびんに接近する方向に移動し、塗料15がびん底面に向けてかけ流される。びんBが吐出口の正面から退出する位置に来るのをびんセンサ(図示せず)が検知すると、シリンダ6が作動して、図3に示すように、吐出口4はびんから離隔する方向に移動する。このように、吐出口4がびんに接近離隔する方向に移動するので、塗料がびん底面の塗装予定部分以外の部分に付着することがない。
このかけ流し塗装工程において、びんBは、その中心軸と垂線がなす角度αが例えば45°となるように底面を下向きに傾斜させた状態で移動手段1によって保持されている。
