Description
そして、このドラムの外周面に、前記重ね合わせた状態の前記複数枚のシート(以下、ワークとも言う)が巻き付けられつつ、当該ドラムの回転によって該ドラムの回転方向に前記ワークが連続して移動され、その移動の間に、前記超音波ホーンにより、前記ワークに超音波振動が与えられる。すると、アンビルの凸部が超音波ホーンの位置を通過する際に、その超音波振動が選択的に前記凸部に当接する前記ワークの部分に作用して当該部分が部分的に摩擦熱等により溶融し、その結果、前記ワークは所定の加工ピッチで溶着される。
このため、生産ラインによっては、このようなシール装置を製品サイズ毎に保有しているところも有り、その生産ラインでは、サイズ替えの度に、対応するサイズのシール装置に入れ替えて使用している。
しかしながら、製品サイズ毎に専用のシール装置を保有していると、その設備費も製品サイズの区分数倍に膨らむ等してしまい、製造コストの低減を阻む一因になる。
本発明は、上記のような従来の問題に鑑みてなされたものであって、連続したワークになされる加工処理の加工ピッチを変更可能な単一の加工装置を提供することを目的とする。
軸周りに回転する回転体の外周面に、連続したワークを巻き付けて前記回転体の回転によって該回転体の回転方向に前記ワークを移動させる間に、前記ワークに対して前記回転方向に所定の加工ピッチで加工処理を行う加工装置であって、
前記回転体の外周面に対向しつつ前記回転方向の所定位置に配置される第1加工処理部と、
前記回転体の外周面に前記回転方向の所定角度おきに設けられて、前記第1加工処理部に対向する際に該第1加工処理部と協働して前記ワークに前記加工処理を行う第2加工処理部と、
前記第2加工処理部同士の間にて前記ワークを支持し、前記加工ピッチに応じて前記ワークの支持位置を変更可能な支持部と、を備えていることを特徴とする加工装置である。
前記回転体の外周面に対向しつつ前記回転方向の所定位置に配置される第1加工処理部と、
前記回転体の外周面に前記回転方向の所定角度おきに設けられて、前記第1加工処理部に対向する際に該第1加工処理部と協働して前記ワークに前記加工処理を行う第2加工処理部と、
前記第2加工処理部同士の間にて前記ワークを支持し、前記加工ピッチに応じて前記ワークの支持位置を変更可能な支持部と、を備えていることを特徴とする加工装置。
前記回転体の外周面における前記第2加工処理部同士の間の部分は、切り欠かれているとともに、当該切り欠かれた部分に前記支持部が配置されて着脱可能に固定されており、
前記支持部を、前記加工ピッチ毎に有し、
前記加工ピッチに応じて前記支持部が交換されるのが望ましい。
このような加工装置によれば、前記支持部の交換という簡単な方法によって、前記加工ピッチを変更可能となる。
前記支持部の交換によって、前記ワークの支持位置が、前記回転体の径方向に移動されるのが望ましい。
このような加工装置によれば、前記支持部の交換という簡単な方法によって、前記加工ピッチを変更可能となる。
前記ワークは、熱溶着性素材の複数枚のシートが重ね合わされてなり、
前記加工処理は、重ね合わされた前記複数枚のシートを前記加工ピッチで溶着して接合する処理であるのが望ましい。
このような加工装置によれば、前記重ね合わされた複数枚のシートを、前記加工ピッチで溶着して接合することができる。
前記第1加工処理部は、前記ワークに超音波振動を与える超音波ホーンを有するとともに、前記第2加工処理部は、前記外周面よりも高く突出された凸部を有するアンビルであっても良い。
前記第1加工処理部の前記回転方向の下流側には、前記回転体の外周面に対向させて第3加工処理部が配置されており、
前記第3加工処理部は、前記第2加工処理部が対向する際に該第2加工処理部と協働して、前記ワークを前記加工ピッチで分断するのが望ましい。
このような加工装置によれば、前記重ね合わされた複数枚のシートたるワークを、前記加工ピッチで溶着して接合した後で、更に、当該ワークを、前記溶着の加工ピッチで分断することもできる。
前記第3加工処理部は、第3刃部材を有するとともに、前記第2加工処理部は、前記第3刃部材と協働して前記ワークを前記加工ピッチで分断する第4刃部材を有しても良い。
前記第1加工処理部と前記第3加工処理部との間には、前記ワークが前記回転体の外周面から離れないように前記ワークを保持するための保持装置が設けられているのが望ましい。
このような加工装置によれば、前記ワークが、前記第3加工処理部によって分断されても、当該第3加工処理部へと前記ワークを安定して移動させることができる。
本発明に係る加工装置20は、連続生産ラインを走行する連続したワークに所定の加工ピッチで所定の加工処理を施すものである。以下に説明する第1実施形態では、連続したワークとしておむつ1の基材1aを例に、また、この基材1aへの加工処理としては、前記基材1aの前身頃10と後身頃11とを溶着する溶着処理を例に説明する。つまり、第1実施形態に係る加工装置は、所謂シール装置である。
先ず、図1A及び図1Bを参照しておむつ1について説明する。図1Aは、おむつ1の完成品を示す斜視図である。また、図1Bは、おむつ1の構成部品を説明するための斜視図であって、図1Aの完成品を股下部13にて平面に展開し、それを厚み方向の構成部品に分解して示している。
図3Aはシール装置20の正面図であり、図3Bは図3A中のB−B線矢視図であり、図3Cはシール装置20の背面図である。なお、図3Bにあっては、一部を破断して示している。また、図4A及び図4Bはシール装置20の回転体30の説明図であり、図4AはLサイズの基材1aを溶着処理する場合を示し、図4BはSサイズの基材1aを溶着処理する場合を示している。
図3A及び図3Bに示すように、回転体30は、水平方向を向いた回転軸C30周りに回転する部材であり、例えば、断面形状が真円の円柱部材の外周面を、回転方向の所定角度おきに互いに同形の凹状に切り欠いた部材を本体とする。図3Aの例では、回転方向の三カ所が120°おきに略扇形に切り欠かれており、三カ所に切り欠かれていない部分30bが径方向に突出した状態で残っている(図3A中で濃く彩色した部分を参照)。そして、この回転体30における切り欠かれていない部分30b(以下では、未切り欠き部30bと言う)の外周面には、それぞれに前記アンビル32が設けられる一方、切り欠かれた部分30c(以下では、切り欠き部30cと言う)には、それぞれに前記支持部34が配置されている。
図3Aに示すように、超音波ホーン50は、回転体30の上方(図3Aでは時計の文字盤の12時の位置)に配置されている。そして、この超音波ホーン50において前記回転体30の外周面30aと対向する下面50aには、超音波振動の発振面50aが配されており、この発信面50aからは基材1aへ向けて超音波振動が連続して発される。よって、この発振面50aの位置を前記アンビル32の凸部32aが回転方向に沿って通過する際には、当該発振面50aと前記凸部32aとで挟まれた基材1aの部分が前記超音波振動によって選択的に溶融し、これによって基材1aには前記一対の溶着部14,14が形成される。
ここで、このシール装置20の作用効果について説明する。
先ず、このシール装置20によれば、図3Aに示す前記支持部34のみを交換するだけでサイズ替えに対応できて、つまり、シール装置20自体を交換せずに済む。その結果、(a)製品サイズ毎にシール装置20を保有せずに済んで設備費を削減でき、(b)また、サイズ替えの作業負荷を軽減でき、(c)更には、異なる製品サイズのシール装置20の保管スペースの削減を図れ、(d)また、シール装置20の交換作業を簡便に行うための装置(例えば、スライド式の架台やホイストクレーン、あるいはリフト装置等)が不要になる。
図6Aは第2実施形態のシール装置20aの正面図であり、図6Bは図6A中のB−B線矢視図であり、図6Cはシール装置20aの背面図である。なお、図6Bにあっては、一部を破断して示している。

Claims (8)
- 軸周りに回転する回転体の外周面に、連続したワークを巻き付けて前記回転体の回転によって該回転体の回転方向に前記ワークを移動させる間に、前記ワークに対して前記回転方向に所定の加工ピッチで加工処理を行う加工装置であって、
前記回転体の外周面に対向しつつ前記回転方向の所定位置に配置される第1加工処理部と、
前記回転体の外周面に前記回転方向の所定角度おきに設けられて、前記第1加工処理部に対向する際に該第1加工処理部と協働して前記ワークに前記加工処理を行う第2加工処理部と、
前記第2加工処理部同士の間にて前記ワークを支持し、前記加工ピッチに応じて前記ワークの支持位置を変更可能な支持部と、を備えていることを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項1に記載の加工装置であって、
前記回転体の外周面における前記第2加工処理部同士の間の部分は、切り欠かれているとともに、当該切り欠かれた部分に前記支持部が配置されて着脱可能に固定されており、
前記支持部を、前記加工ピッチ毎に有し、
前記加工ピッチに応じて前記支持部が交換されることを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項2に記載の加工装置であって、
前記支持部の交換によって、前記ワークの支持位置が、前記回転体の径方向に移動されることを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項1乃至3のいずれかに記載の加工装置であって、
前記ワークは、熱溶着性素材の複数枚のシートが重ね合わされてなり、
前記加工処理は、重ね合わされた前記複数枚のシートを前記加工ピッチで溶着して接合する処理であることを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項4に記載の加工装置であって、
前記第1加工処理部は、前記ワークに超音波振動を与える超音波ホーンを有するとともに、前記第2加工処理部は、前記外周面よりも高く突出された凸部を有するアンビルであることを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項4又は5に記載の加工装置であって、
前記第1加工処理部の前記回転方向の下流側には、前記回転体の外周面に対向させて第3加工処理部が配置されており、
前記第3加工処理部は、前記第2加工処理部が対向する際に該第2加工処理部と協働して、前記ワークを前記加工ピッチで分断することを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項6に記載の加工装置であって、
前記第3加工処理部は、第3刃部材を有するとともに、前記第2加工処理部は、前記第3刃部材と協働して前記ワークを前記加工ピッチで分断する第4刃部材を有することを特徴とする加工装置。 - 請求項6又は7に記載の加工装置であって、
前記第1加工処理部と前記第3加工処理部との間には、前記ワークが前記回転体の外周面から離れないように前記ワークを保持するための保持装置が設けられていることを特徴とする加工装置。
