Claims (10)
- ストレージ電極及びデータ電圧が印加される画素電極が形成された第1基板と、共通電極が形成された第2基板と、前記第1及び第2基板間に介在する液晶層を含み、配向区間において液晶分子がスプレイ状態からベンド状態に転移し、正常動作区間において前記ベンド状態により画像を表示する液晶表示パネルと、
前記配向区間の間、前記共通電極に前記データ電圧より高い電位の第1配向電圧を印加して前記ストレージ電極に前記データ電圧より低い電位の第2配向電圧を印加する電源供給部と、
を含む液晶表示装置。 - 前記電源供給部は、前記正常動作区間の間、前記共通電極及び前記ストレージ電極に前記第1配向電圧より低く、前記第2配向電圧より高い電位の共通電圧を印加することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記データ電圧は、前記第1配向電圧と前記第2配向電圧との間で前記共通電圧を基準としてスウィングすることを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1配向電圧と前記第2配向電圧は20V以上の電位差を有することを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1配向電圧は18V〜22Vの範囲であり、前記第2配向電圧は−3V〜−7Vの範囲であり、前記共通電圧は5V〜9Vの範囲であり、前記データ電圧は0V〜16Vの範囲でスウィングすることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記電源供給部は、
前記第1配向電圧を発生する第1配向電圧発生部と、
前記第2配向電圧を発生する第2配向電圧発生部と、
前記共通電圧を発生する共通電圧発生部と、
一方の端子が前記第1配向電圧発生部及び前記共通電圧発生部のいずれか一方に選択的に接続され、他方の端子が前記共通電極に接続される第1スイッチング部と、
一方の端子が前記第2配向電圧発生部及び前記共通電圧発生部のいずれか一方に選択的に接続され、前記ストレージ電極に接続される第2スイッチング部と、
を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1スイッチング部は、前記配向区間の間、前記第1配向電圧発生部に接続され、前記第2スイッチング部は、前記配向区間の間、前記第2配向電圧発生部に接続されることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記第1及び第2スイッチング部は、前記正常動作区間の間、前記共通電圧発生部に接続されることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。
- 前記液晶表示パネルは、前記第1基板に形成されたゲートライン、データライン、及び前記ゲートライン、及びデータラインに接続された薄膜トランジスタを含み、
前記電源供給部は、前記薄膜トランジスタの駆動を制御するゲートオン電圧及びゲートオフ電圧を発生するゲート電圧発生部を含むことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記第1配向電圧は前記ゲートオン電圧で、前記第2配向電圧は前記ゲートオフ電圧であることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。
