Description
さらに、得られる製品の形状は、押出し機および/または押出しダイと押出し製品との立体的相互作用によってしばしば制限される。押出し方向とは反対の方向にホースが大きく曲げられる時に、このことを知覚することができる。この場合において、成形された製品は押出し機の方向に押出される。
本発明は成形製品を製造するプロセスに関するものである。そのプロセスは、押出しバレル及び押出しダイを含む押出し機装置において、繊維強化熱可塑性ポリマーをプロセスすることを含む。前記押出しバレルは、ロボットハンドリングユニットに連結された心棒膨張押出しダイを通して送り出す。またその押出しバレルはフレキシブルな圧力ホースを用いて押出しダイへ連結される。
本発明に従ったプロセスにおいて1つの代替の熱可塑性ポリマーとして使われる熱可塑性エラストマー組成は、以下の(A)〜(B)を含む。
ii.熱可塑性ポリオレフィン・ホモポリマーまたはコポリマー
を含む熱可塑性ゴム
(B)官能化ポリオレフィン
(C)メラミン、ウレア、ベンゾグアナミンおよび/またはグリコルリルをホルムアルデヒドと反応させることにより得られる樹脂、エポキシ樹脂およびイソシアネート樹脂から選ばれる架橋剤
(D)グリセロール-ポリグリシジルエーテル、ビスフェノールAとエピクロロヒドリンとの反応生成物の群から選ばれたエポキシ樹脂、および/またはブロック化ジイソシアネートによって接着性活性化された強化繊維。
(ii)熱可塑性ポリオレフィン・ホモポリマーまたはコポリマー、および
(iii)硬化剤、
の溶融混合
(II)熱可塑性ゴムを得るために硬化性熱可塑性ゴムを、少なくとも部分的に硬化するためにその混合物を動的に加硫処理すること
(III)(A)工程(II)の50重量%以下の抽出可能ゴム(23℃、48h、シクロヘキサン)を含有する少なくとも部分的に硬化されたゴム、
(B)官能化ポリオレフィン、
(C)架橋材、および
(D)接着性活性化繊維
の溶融混合。
熱可塑性ポリマーの一つの実施形態において、本発明に従ったプロセスにおいて使われる強化熱可塑性エラストマー組成は、熱可塑性ゴム、官能化ポリオレフィン(B)、架橋化剤(C)および接着性活性化強化繊維(D)をブレンドすることによって、得ることができる。
成分(A)として本発明に従って使われた熱可塑性ゴム(エラストマー)組成は、一般にエラストマー(ゴム)を持つ熱可塑性ポリオレフィンを、熱可塑性連続相内部に離散微粒子相としてエラストマーを密接にかつ均一に分散化するという方法で、ブレンドすることによって得られる。加硫化組成に関する初期の研究は、ゲスラー(Gessler)のUS特許3,037,954に見出される。その中において、動的な加硫処理技術と同様に静的加硫処理が開示されていて、加硫性エラストマーが樹脂状熱可塑性ポリマー中に分散され、エラストマーは、ポリマーブレンドを連続的にミキシングしたりせん断したりする間に、硬化される。その結果として生じる組成(熱可塑性エラストマー加硫物質“TPV”)は、ポリプロピレンのような熱可塑性ポリマーの未硬化組成における、ブチルゴム、塩素化ブチルゴム、ポリブタジエン、ポリイソブテンなどのような硬化されたエラストマーのミクロゲル分散である。
熱可塑性ゴム(A)において使用に適切なゴムの説明に役立つが限定されない例は、エチレン/アルファ-オレフィン/非共役ジエン・コポリマーゴム(たとえば、エチレン-プロピレン/非共役シエンゴム(EPDM))、エチレン/アルファ-オレフィン・コポリマーゴム(アルファ-オレフィンは化学式CH2=CHRであり、Rはプロピレン、1-ブテン、イソブチレン、1-ペンテン、1-ヘキセン、1-ヘプテン、1-オクテン、3-メチル-1-ペンテン、4-メチル-1-ペンテン、5-メチル-1-ヘキセン、およびその類似物質のような1〜12個の炭素原子を持つ直鎖または分岐アルキル基である。)から選ばれたゴムを含む。好適なエチレン/アルファ-オレフィン・ゴムはエチレン/プロピレン・コポリマーゴム(EPM)である。ゴムのさらなる実例は、ブチルゴム、ハロゲン化ブチルゴム、C4〜C7イソモノオレフィンとパラ-アルキルスチレンとそれらのハロゲン化誘導体とのコポリマー、天然または合成ゴム、ポリイソプレンゴム、ポリブタジエンゴム、スチレン/ブタジエン・コポリマーゴム、およびそれらのブレンドである。
熱可塑性エラストマー成分(A)の説明と関連してここで使われる用語「熱可塑性ポリオレフィン」は、熱可塑特性を示すどんなポリオレフィン樹脂をも表す。
組成(A)において、ゴム成分は部分的に、好適には完全に加硫化/架橋化される。当業者は、ゴムの部分的または完全な加硫化を達成するために必要とされる、適切な量、硬化システムのタイプおよび加硫化条件を理解するだろう。望ましい最適で完全な架橋化を得るために有効な硬化剤の量、温度および時間を変化させてゴムを加硫化することができる。使用されるゴムの加硫化条件の下で、それが適切で、TPVのポリオレフィン樹脂成分と適合する限り、どんな硬化システムも使うことができる。これらの硬化剤は、硫黄、硫黄供与体、金属酸化物、樹脂システム、高エネルギー放射物およびその類似物、硬化促進剤および共通剤(co-agent)の有り無しの両方を含む。本発明のさらなる好適な代替において、公開ヨーロッパ特許出願0776937において開示されているように、架橋は、ヒドロシリル化架橋によっても効果的でありうる。その開示は参照によりここに完全に含まれる。
等価フェノール硬化樹脂は他のサプライヤーからも得ることができる。上述したように、充分な量の硬化剤が、ゴムの本質的に完全な硬化を達成するために使われる。
エラストマー相中に組み入れたフィラーおよび/または添加剤を有することは好ましくなる可能性があるが、その程度に依存して、そのフィラーおよび/または添加剤をエラストマー相の硬化が要求されるレベルで添加しても良い。上述のプロセスに対する代替として、熱可塑性ゴム(A)はフィラーまたは添加剤なしで製造しても良い。そのフィラーおよび/または添加剤は、遅い段階の第2の配合操作において、添加しても良い。
本発明に従って、官能化ポリオレフィン(B)は、C2〜C7モノオレフィンモノマーのホモポリマーまたはコポリマー、アクリレートとC2〜C7モノオレフィンモノマーとのコポリマー、メチル-、エチルー、プロピル-、またはブチル-メタクリレートのような(メタ)アクリレート、またはビニル・アセテートから選択される。C2〜C7モノオレフィンモノマーは、エチレン、プロピレン、1-ブテン、イソブチレン、1-ペンテン、1-ヘキセン、1-ヘプテン、1-オクテン、3-メチル-1-ペンテン、4-メチレン-1-ペンテン、5-メチル-1-ヘキセンおよびそれらの混合物から選択することができる。本発明の好適な実施形態において、官能化ポリオレフィンは、それに以下から選択されたモノマーをグラフトする。
・ 4〜10炭素原子を含む不飽和ジカルボン酸またはそれらの誘導体またはそれらの無水物(それらが存在する場合)
・ 少なくとも6炭素原子を含む不飽和カルボン酸のエステル含有エポキシ基
・ 少なくとも5炭素原子を含む不飽和カルボン酸のエステル含有ヒドロキシ基
・ オキサゾリン
・ ポリアミンとさらに官能化された、前記不飽和ジカルボン酸および/または不飽和ジカルボン酸モノマー、およびそれらの混合物
適切な官能化ポリオレフィンは、US特許5,609,962に開示されていて、その開示は参照することによりここに完全に含まれる。
熱可塑性組成(A)に対して接着性活性化繊維の接着性は、特に、得られた繊維強化熱可塑性エラストマーの湿度感受性および結合強度に関して、架橋剤(C)がその組成に添加された場合、著しく改善することができるということが驚くべきことに見つけられてきた。本発明に従って使われる架橋剤は、強化繊維(D)の接着性活性システムを用いて、官能化ポリオレフィン(B)の架橋を開始する。
本発明はどんな特別の種類の繊維にも限定されない。従って、有機、無機、合成または非合成繊維のどんな種類も強化繊維として使うことができる。たとえば、ポリエステル、ポリアラミド、ポリエチレン、ナフタレート(PEN)、ポリエステル-ポリアリレート、ポリビニルクロライド、ポリプロピレン、ポリフェニレンサルファイド、ポリエーテルイミド、ポリアミド、ポリイミドまたはセルロース繊維が使われる。代替として、ガラス、スチール、臭素、炭素またはウォラストナイト繊維、粘土、タルカム(滑石)または化学式Mg4Si6O15(OH)2・6H2Oの繊維性水酸化マグネシウム・シリケートのような無機繊維も使うことができる。
本発明による強化エラストマー組成は、充分なグリーン強度、すなわち、押出しダイ・オリフィスを離れた後に押出し製品を固化する前に、形状ゆがみを最小化するのに必要な構造的完全性、を表す。
(ホースの破裂圧力に及ぼす繊維強化の効果)
ホースは、サントプレン(Santoprene)121-67W175、オレヴァック(Orevac)(カルボキシル化ポリプロピレン)およびアラミド繊維の各量を含む組成を、200℃の心棒膨張ダイを経由した溶融押出しによって製造された。
使用材料:サントプレン(Santoprene)101-64ベースのサントプレン(Santoprene)SFR001、マレイン酸ポリプロピレンおよび8重量%の接着性活性化ポリエステル短繊維。
45mm直径で25:1L/Dのシングル・スクリュー押出し機、レイス(Reis)RV30ロボット、21.2mm外径で15.2mm内径および2.5:1膨張比の心棒膨張押出しダイ。ダイのオフセットは2つのDCモーターによって制御された。
ストレート端および3つのカーブ(図2を見よ)を持つホースの押出し、カーブ形状はロボット動作によって主に実現される。また、チューブ壁厚のどんな相違も補正するために、内側ダイのオフセットによって、少し伸びる。最大圧力限界に関する押出し速度:19.1Mpaで 16mm/s、押出し機の投与速度:40%。

Claims (5)
- 押出し機バレルおよび押出しダイを含む押出し機装置において、
繊維強化熱可塑性ポリマーを処理することを含む成形製品の製造方法であって、
前記押出し機バレルは、フレキシブル圧力ホースを用いて押出しダイに連結されていて、
ロボットハンドリングユニットに連結した、溝付きダイ通路において偏心を生じるようにオフセットすることが可能な内側または外側ダイを持つ心棒膨張押出しダイを通して送り出すことを特徴とする製造方法。 - 繊維強化熱可塑性ポリマーは、ポリビニルクロライド、ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン、ポリ酢酸ビニル、ポリエステル・ポリマー、ABSコポリマー、ポリアミド、熱可塑性エラストマー、および加硫化エラストマーからなる群から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマーは、熱可塑性エラストマーであることを特徴とする、請求項1記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性エラストマーは、ポリウレタン-ポリエステル・エラストマー、セグメント化ポリエーテルおよびポリエステル、ナイロン・ブロック・ポリマー、ポリオレフィン樹脂とモノ-オレフィン・ゴムとの動的に部分的に硬化されたブレンド、加硫化ジエン含有エラストマー、天然または合成ゴム、またはそれらの混合物から選択されることを特徴とする、請求項3記載の製造方法。
- 熱可塑性エラストマーは、次の(A)、(B)、(C)および(D)を含む繊維強化熱可塑性エラストマーであることを特徴とする、請求項3記載の製造方法。
(A)次の(i)および(ii)を含む熱可塑性ゴム。
(i)50重量%以下の抽出可能ゴム(23℃、48h、シクロヘキサン)を含有する少なくとも部分的に硬化されたゴム、
(ii)熱可塑性ポリオレフィン・ホモポリマーまたはコポリマー。
(B)官能化ポリオレフィン
(C)メラミン、ウレア、ベンゾグアナミンおよび/またはグリコルリルを、ホルムアルデヒドと反応させることにより得られる樹脂、エポキシ樹脂およびイソシアネート樹脂から選ばれる架橋剤。
(D)グリセロール-ポリグリシジルエーテル、ビスフェノールAとエピクロロヒドリンとの反応生成物の群から選ばれたエポキシ樹脂、および/またはブロック化ジイソシアネートによって接着性活性化された強化繊維。
