Description
c軸方向の平均長さ(H)に対する、a軸方向の平均長さ及びb軸方向の平均長さの平均値(D)の比(D/H)が5であり、平均粒子径が10μmであるα−アルミナ粒子を57.1%、チタニアを32.5%、シリカを6.4%、マグネシアを0.4%、酸化鉄を3.4%、ランタンを0.2%、及び造孔材として吸水性ポリマーを1.5%の割合で含むアルミニウムチタネート化原料に対して、3%のメチルセルロースを添加した後、混練して坏土を調製した。調製した坏土を押出し成形することにより、円柱状であり、ハニカム構造の成形体を得た。成形体を乾燥した後、所定の寸法となるように長さ方向に切断、目封止し、1450℃で4時間焼成して、直径が144mm、全長が152mmの円柱状の形状を有し、かつ、隔壁厚さが75μm、セル密度が46.5セル/cm2のハニカム構造のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスを製造した。アルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの気孔率は50%であり、平均気孔径は15μmであり、熱膨張係数は0.5×10−6/℃であり、真円度は0.5mmであり、AT分解率は5%であった。なお、α−アルミナ粒子に含有されるNa2Oの割合は0.027%であった。
表1に示す配合処方のアルミニウムチタネート化原料を用いたこと以外は実施例1と同様にしてアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスを製造した。製造したアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの特性を表2に示す。
Claims (6)
- Na2Oを含有するα−アルミナ粒子を含むアルミニウムチタネート化原料を成形して成形体を得た後、焼成することを含み、
前記α−アルミナ粒子が、c軸方向の平均長さに対する、a軸方向の平均長さ及びb軸方向の平均長さの平均値の比が3以上の粒子形状を有するものであるアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。 - 前記α−アルミナ粒子の平均粒子径が6〜15μmである請求項1に記載のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。
- 前記アルミニウムチタネート化原料に含まれる前記α−アルミナ粒子の割合が、10〜60質量%である請求項1又は2に記載のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。
- 前記α−アルミナ粒子に含有される前記Na2Oの割合が、0.01〜0.1質量%である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。
- 前記α−アルミナ粒子に含有される前記Na2Oの割合が、0.01〜0.03質量%である請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。
- 前記成形体が、ハニカム構造を有する成形体である請求項1〜5のいずれか一項に記載のアルミニウムチタネートセラミックスの製造方法。
