Claims (5)
- 伝送路としてグレーデッド型マルチモード光ファイバが接続されるマルチモード波長多重光トランシーバであって、
互いに異なる波長のシングルモード光を出射する複数の発光素子と、
上記シングルモード光を多重化しかつマルチモード光とする機能を有するマルチモード導波路モジュールと
を備え、
上記マルチモード導波路モジュールは、ステップインデックス型マルチモード導波路モジュールからなり、
上記ステップインデックス型マルチモード導波路モジュールは、
上記複数の発光素子の各発光素子から出射された上記シングルモード光がそれぞれ入射される複数の入射側コアと、
上記グレーデッド型マルチモード光ファイバと光結合される出射側コアと、
上記複数の入射側コアを合流して上記出射側コアに接続するコア結合部と、を備え、
上記入射側コアから上記コア結合部を経て上記出射側コアに至るコアの一部に、マルチモード光の低次モード成分を低減するとともに高次モード成分を発生させ、該高次モードの伝送損失は無視できるレベルであるコア曲がり部、コアずれ部又はコアテーパ部を形成した、
マルチモード波長多重光トランシーバ。 - 上記マルチモード導波路モジュールから出射されたマルチモード光を伝送する上記グレーデッド型マルチモード光ファイバを接続するためのレセプタクルを備えたことを特徴とする請求項1記載のマルチモード波長多重光トランシーバ。
- 上記発光素子をレンズ付きパッケージ内に封止し、このパッケージを上記マルチモード導波路モジュールの端面に取り付けたことを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載のマルチモード波長多重光トランシーバ。
- 伝送路としてグレーデッド型マルチモード光ファイバが接続されるマルチモード波長多重光トランシーバであって、
互いに異なる波長のシングルモード光を出射する複数の発光素子と、
各発光素子からのシングルモード光を多重化する光ファイバカプラと、
この光ファイバカプラからの多重化されたシングルモード光をマルチモード光とする機能を有するマルチモード導波路モジュールと
を備え、
上記マルチモード導波路モジュールは、ステップインデックス型マルチモード導波路モジュールからなり、
上記ステップインデックス型マルチモード導波路モジュールは、上記光ファイバカプラからの光を導波し、上記グレーデッド型マルチモード光ファイバと光結合されるコアを備え、
上記コアの一部に、マルチモード光の低次モード成分を低減するとともに高次モード成分を発生させ、該高次モードの伝送損失は無視できるレベルであるコア曲がり部、コアずれ部又はコアテーパ部を形成した、
マルチモード波長多重光トランシーバ。 - 上記発光素子をそれぞれシングルモード光ファイバ付きのパッケージ内に収容し、これらパッケージの光ファイバを上記光ファイバカプラに連結したことを特徴とする請求項4記載のマルチモード波長多重光トランシーバ。
