Description
正極は、一般に知られた組成で、リチウムコバルト酸化物、PVDF及び導電材のスラリーをアルミニウム集電体上にコートして作製し、負極は、一般に知られた組成で、黒鉛、PVDF及び導電材のスラリーを銅集電体上にコートして作製した。
電極組立体のセパレータ剰余部を電池ケースの封止部に一緒に熱融着しないことを除いては、前記実施例1と同様にして、二次電池を完成した。
図1に示すように、電極タブの突出方向の封止部の長さが、その側面封止部の長さよりも小さなサイズの電池ケースを用いたことを除いては、前記実施例1と同様にして、二次電池を完成した。
前記実施例1と比較例1及び2においてそれぞれ作製された20個の電池に対して、過充電と高温露出実験を行い、300サイクル充放電を行った後、電池ケースの封止部において電解液の漏れの有無を確認した。

Claims (11)
- 二次電池であって、
正極と、負極と、その間にセパレータが介在された状態で積層されてなる電極組立体を電池ケースに内蔵した後、前記電池ケースを封止し形成されてなるものであり、
前記電池ケースが、前記電極組立体を収容可能な凹状の収納部を有する下部ケースと、該下部ケースの蓋として前記収納部を封止する上部ケースとが、一側において相互に連結されて一体となる構造を備えてなり、
前記電極組立体が、その電極方向が前記ケースの連結部に隣接した一側面方向aに突出して収納部に取り付けられてなり、
前記セパレータの外周面のうち、他側面方向b及び前記連結部の対向面方向cに対応するセパレータの外周面が、剰余部として、前記電池ケースの封止部に一緒に固定されてなり、
前記方向aの前記電池ケースの長さが、前記方向cの電池ケースの長さよりも短いものである、二次電池。 - 前記電極組立体が、所定の大きさを有する複数の電極を順次積層した構造(積重型構造)からなる、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記電極が、複数のバイセルまたはフルセルの構造で前記電極組立体を構成してなるものである、請求項2に記載の二次電池。
- 前記電池ケースが、金属層と樹脂層を含むラミネートシートからなる、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記電池ケースが、アルミニウムラミネートシートのパウチ状ケースからなる、請求項4に記載の二次電池。
- 前記パウチ状ケースが、熱融着により封止され、その熱融着封止部に前記セパレータ剰余部が一緒に熱融着されてなる、請求項5に記載の二次電池。
- 前記セパレータ剰余部が、前記熱融着される部分が、前記封止部の幅に対して30〜70%の大きさを有する、請求項6に記載の二次電池。
- 前記電池ケースの封止部に剰余部が固定されるセパレータが、前記電極組立体を構成する全てのセパレータまたは一部のセパレータである、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記セパレータ剰余部が、接着剤により電池ケースの封止予定部分に固定された後、電池ケースの封止の際に一緒に固定される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 前記セパレータ剰余部が、熱融着により相互結合された状態で、電池ケースの封止予定部分に固定された後、電池ケースの封止の際に一緒に固定される、請求項1に記載の二次電池。
- 請求項1〜10の何れか一項に記載の二次電池を単位電池として含む、中大型電池モジュール。
