Claims (4)
- クランク軸からのトルク伝達によりカム軸が開閉する吸気弁及び排気弁のうち少なくとも一方のバルブタイミングを調整する内燃機関のバルブタイミング調整装置であって、
モータ軸を有し、前記モータ軸にコギングトルクを発生させる電動モータと、
前記電動モータへの通電により前記モータ軸の回転を制御し、前記内燃機関の停止に伴って前記電動モータへの通電を停止する通電制御手段と、
前記クランク軸及び前記カム軸に連繋し、前記モータ軸の回転に応じて前記クランク軸及び前記カム軸の間の相対位相を変化させる位相変化機構と、を備え、
前記コギングトルクのピーク値は、前記電動モータへの通電の停止状態において前記位相変化機構を通じて前記カム軸から前記モータ軸に作用する正負のカムトルクの絶対値よりも大きくなるように、設定されていることを特徴とするバルブタイミング調整装置。 - 前記コギングトルクのピーク値は、前記正負のカムトルクの絶対値のうち少なくとも一方の最大予測値よりも大きくなるように設定されている請求項1に記載のバルブタイミング調整装置。
- 前記内燃機関の停止に必須の条件は、前記内燃機関の停止指令であるイグニッションスイッチのオフ指令、又は前記内燃機関のアイドル回転状態における回転数であり、
前記通電制御手段は、前記条件を検知して、前記電動モータへの通電により前記相対位相として所定の位相を実現した後、前記電動モータへの通電を停止することを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のバルブタイミング調整装置。 - 前記電動モータは、
通電により磁界を発生するモータステータと、
前記モータステータの内周側に配置される前記モータ軸と、
前記モータ軸の外周壁に設けられ、前記モータステータの発生磁界を受けることにより前記モータ軸と共に回転する永久磁石と、
を有することを特徴とする請求項1〜3のいずれか一項に記載のバルブタイミング調整装置。
