軸線方向に延びる棒状の中心電極と、
前記中心電極の外周に設けられた略円筒状の絶縁体と、
前記絶縁体の外周に設けられた筒状の主体金具と、
基端が前記主体金具の先端部に接合され、先端が前記軸線に向けて曲げられて配置された接地電極とを備え、
前記中心電極の先端部及び前記接地電極の先端部間に火花放電間隙を有する内燃機関用スパークプラグであって、
前記接地電極のうち、
前記絶縁体に面する側とは反対側の外周側面であって、かつ、前記軸線側の先端部分には前記軸線側の先端面から前記接地電極の長手方向に沿って0.2mm以上の長さを有する平坦面が形成されるとともに、
当該平坦面を除く前記絶縁体に面する側とは反対側の外周側面には凸状の湾曲面が形成されており、
前記接地電極のうち前記軸線と平行に延びる部位における前記接地電極の長手方向の中心軸に直交する第1断面に関し、断面積をS1、周長をL1とし、
前記接地電極のうち前記軸線と直交する方向に延び、前記平坦面を含む部位における前記接地電極の長手方向の中心軸に直交する第2断面に関し、断面積をS2、周長をL2としたとき、
0.950≦(S2/L2)/(S1/L1)≦0.995
を満たすことを特徴とする。
前記接地電極の前記外周側面の前記凸状の湾曲面は、断面円弧状をなしており、当該円弧の曲率半径が0.5mm以上1.0mm以下であることを特徴とする。
Claims (2)
- 軸線方向に延びる棒状の中心電極と、
前記中心電極の外周に設けられた略円筒状の絶縁体と、
前記絶縁体の外周に設けられた筒状の主体金具と、
基端が前記主体金具の先端部に接合され、先端が前記軸線に向けて曲げられて配置された接地電極とを備え、
前記中心電極の先端部及び前記接地電極の先端部間に火花放電間隙を有する内燃機関用スパークプラグであって、
前記接地電極のうち、
前記絶縁体に面する側とは反対側の外周側面であって、かつ、前記軸線側の先端部分には前記軸線側の先端面から前記接地電極の長手方向に沿って0.2mm以上の長さを有する平坦面が形成されるとともに、
当該平坦面を除く前記絶縁体に面する側とは反対側の外周側面には凸状の湾曲面が形成されており、
前記接地電極のうち前記軸線と平行に延びる部位における前記接地電極の長手方向の中心軸に直交する第1断面に関し、断面積をS1、周長をL1とし、
前記接地電極のうち前記軸線と直交する方向に延び、前記平坦面を含む部位における前記接地電極の長手方向の中心軸に直交する第2断面に関し、断面積をS2、周長をL2としたとき、
0.950≦(S2/L2)/(S1/L1)≦0.995
を満たすことを特徴とする内燃機関用スパークプラグ。 - 前記接地電極の前記外周側面の前記凸状の湾曲面は、断面円弧状をなしており、当該円弧の曲率半径が0.5mm以上1.0mm以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関用スパークプラグ。
