Description
水分が存在すると、光ファイバケーブル内部のガラスファイバは、水分によって表面欠陥がより悪化するためにその理論的な最大張力限界以下で応力がかかったとしても破断する傾向がある。したがって、ケーブル中の長尺のガラスファイバはわずか約0.5%の伸び応力を受けると破断することもある。

Claims (11)
- 低温乾式ルースチューブ光ファイバケーブルであって、
1または複数の光ファイバを内包する大きさの通路を有する1または複数の緩衝管と、
前記緩衝管の各々の通路内に配された1条の糸とを含み、
前記糸は、おおよそ1500よりも大きくないデニールを有し、160μm未満の範囲のサイズを有する吸水性材料の粒状体により被覆されていることを特徴とするケーブル。 - 前記吸水性材料の粒状体の平均サイズがおおよそ60μmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記吸水性材料のおおよそ98%の粒状体のサイズが106μmを越えず、かつおおよそ2%の粒状体のサイズが106から160μmの範囲であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 1本の前記被覆された糸が前記緩衝管の各々の通路の任意の面内に存在することを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記被覆された糸の直径がおおよそ0.381mmよりも大きくないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 前記緩衝管の内径がおおよそ1.7mmであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のケーブル。
- 低温乾式ルースチューブ光ファイバケーブルであって、
外装と、
中心部の棒材と、
前記外装と前記中心部の棒材との間に配され、1または複数の光ファイバを内包する寸法の通路を有する1または複数の緩衝管と、
前記緩衝管の各々の通路内に配された一条の糸とを含み、前記糸は、おおよそ1500よりも大きくないデニールを有し、吸水性材料の粒状体により被覆されており、そして、
前記吸水性材料の粒状体は、160μm未満の範囲のサイズを有することを特徴とするケーブル。 - 前記糸に被覆された前記吸水性材料の粒状体の平均サイズがおおよそ60μmであることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のケーブル。
- 1本の前記被覆された糸が前記緩衝管の各々の通路の任意の面内に存在することを特徴とする請求項7に記載のケーブル。
- 前記被覆された糸の直径がおおよそ0.381mmよりも大きくないことを特徴とする請求項7に記載のケーブル。
- 前記緩衝管の内径がおおよそ1.7mmであることを特徴とする請求項7に記載のケーブル。
