Description
このように、本構成のカードアダプタを用いると、電極列が2列に配置されたメモリカードの使用が可能となる。また、このカードアダプタを用いればメモリカードをより小さく構成することも可能となる。そして、同一の電子機器に対する汎用性も向上する。
また、第1コンタクトを取り付けた第1絶縁体と第2コンタクトを取り付けた第2絶縁体とを組み合わせて一体化してあるので、コンタクトの剛性(強度)が増してカードアダプタの耐久性が向上する。また、一体化していない場合と比べて絶縁体の変形が抑制されるため、カードアダプタの堅牢度も向上する。さらに、一体化したことにより第1絶縁体と第2絶縁体とを一つの部品として取り扱うことができるようになるため、絶縁体の検査(導通検査、耐圧検査等)を一回で実施することが可能となる。このため、カードアダプタの製造時における作業性を向上させることができる。
さらに、第1絶縁体に形成した穴部に第2絶縁体に形成した凸部を嵌め込むだけで一体化することができるので、組み立てが簡単である。また、一体化した状態において、第1コンタクトの第1接続部と第2コンタクトの第2接続部とが同一平面上に位置しているので、メモリカードを挿入したアダプタを電子機器側のコネクタにスムーズ且つ確実に接続することができる。

Claims (4)
- 第1電極列と第2電極列とを有するメモリカードを、当該メモリカードとは別のメモリカード用のコネクタに接続するためのカードアダプタであって、
前記メモリカードを挿入する挿入口が形成された本体と、
前記第1電極列に接触する第1接点と前記コネクタに接続する第1接続部とを第1絶縁体に取り付けた第1コンタクトと、
前記第2電極列に接触する第2接点と前記コネクタに接続する第2接続部とを第2絶縁体に取り付けた第2コンタクトとを備え、
前記第1絶縁体と前記第2絶縁体とは、前記第1絶縁体が備えた穴部に前記第2絶縁体が備えた凸部を嵌め込むことで一体化され、
前記凸部の裏面に前記第2接続部が形成されており、
前記一体化によって、前記第1接点と前記第2接点とが前記挿入の方向において異なる位置に配置され、且つ、前記第1接続部と前記第2接続部とが同一平面上に配置されるカードアダプタ。 - 前記第1コンタクトの基部と前記第2コンタクトの基部とを、前記本体の厚み方向で異ならせて配置してある請求項1に記載のカードアダプタ。
- 前記第1コンタクトおよび前記第2コンタクトをインサート成形により前記第1絶縁体および前記第2絶縁体に夫々埋め込んである請求項1又は2に記載のカードアダプタ。
- 前記本体に金属ケースを設け、当該金属ケースが前記メモリカードの接地部材として機能する請求項1〜3の何れか1項に記載のカードアダプタ。
