Description
本願は、シェイファー他により「近接範囲においてRFIDタグ及びラベルを読み取る近距離場プローブ」の発明の名称で2004年11月2日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/624,402号と、コープランド他により「線形モノポールマイクロストリップRFID近距離場アンテナ」の発明の名称で2005年3月7日に出願された米国仮特許出願第60/659,289号の優先権を主張するものであり、これらの両方の出願の全内容は、参照のためにここに組み入れられる。
(1)RFIDラベル120a乃至120eへの読み書き範囲が近距離場距離d<<λ/2πに制限されている
(2)近距離場アンテナ112又は212の電磁界エネルギの大くが終端負荷抵抗R1で消散する
(3)近距離場アンテナアセンブリが送信遠方場アンテナアセンブリと比べて低Q値を示す
(4)低Q値から生じる広い操作バンド幅が広帯域の世界的なUHF(極超短波)応用例に役立つ
(5)広い操作バンド幅と低Q値は、読取装置どうしがが互いに干渉することを防ぐ周波数ホップ必要性がなく、簡易型RFID読取電子装置を可能にする
(6)近距離場アンテナアセンブリは、送信アンテナアセンブリと比べて、低送信抵抗と、送信効率を示す。したがって、遠方場送信はかなり抑えられる
(7)トレース寸法、基板特性及びグラウンド層を有するマイクロストリップ型アンテナで構成された近距離場アンテナアセンブリは、半波長アンテナ乃至全波長アンテナの範囲で作動するように設計されている
(8)電気入力又はケーブルがマイクロストリップアンテナの開始点に直接取り付けられ、かつ、コネクタの接地が基板のグラウンド層に直接取り付けられた要素送り込み構成は、変圧器を必要とするかもしれない代替のディファレンシャル送り込み構成と比べて、より簡単で、費用効率がよりよい送り込み構成を提供する
(9)近距離場アンテナアセンブリが置かれる上部開放型伝導ハウジングが設けられ、アンテナアセンブリのグラウンド層に接地される。伝導ハウジングは、マイクロストリップアンテナの真上に配置されたRFIDラベルに隣接する隣接RFIDラベルと結合する傾向がある漂遊電磁界を最小にすることを助ける。
(10)放射された電場を近距離場ゾーンに局在させることは規制要求事項へのコンプライアンスを容易にする。
Claims (4)
- RFIDラベルを読み取る方法であって:
近距離場アンテナアセンブリであって、第1表面と第2表面とを有する基板を備え、前記第1表面にマイクロストリップトレースアンテナが配置され、前記第2表面にグラウンド層が配置され、前記アンテナは動作波長の半波長乃至全波長に相当する実効長を有し、ケーブルと同等なインピーダンスとなるようにケーブルが接続する端部とは反対側の端部にて終端抵抗を介して前記グラウンド層に接続される、近距離場アンテナアセンブリを供給するステップと;
前記近距離場アンテナアセンブリからの距離がλ/2π(ここで、λは前記近距離場アンテナの動作波長)のところにRFIDラベルを配置するステップとを含んでなる;
RFIDラベルを読み取る方法。 - 請求項1に記載のRFIDラベルを読み取る方法であって、前記アンテナアセンブリを約915MHzの周波数で操作するステップをさらに含んでなるRFIDラベルを読み取る方法。
- RFIDラベルを読み取る近距離場アンテナアセンブリであって:
単一の連続体の導体として構成されたアンテナであって、送り込み点を形成する一端から終端点を形成する他端まで延伸するアンテナを含んでなり、
前記終端点は抵抗を介してグラウンド層に連結され、
前記アンテナがマイクロストリップトレースアンテナであり、前記近距離場アンテナアセンブリは、第1表面と、第2表面と、前記第1表面と第2表面によって定められる厚みとを有する基板を含み、
前記マイクロストリップトレースアンテナは前記基板の前記第1表面に配置され、かつ、グラウンド層が記基板の前記第2表面に配置され、かつ、前記アンテナの実効長が動作波長の半波長乃至全波長に相当する、近距離場アンテナアセンブリ。 - 請求項3に記載の近距離場アンテナアセンブリであって、前記アンテナアセンブリの実効長は、nv/f(ここで、vは光速を前記基板の比誘電率の平方根で除したものに等しい伝播波速、fは周波数[Hz]、nは半波長の場合の約0.5から全波長の場合の1.0までの範囲)に比例する波長の波形を生じさせる電流分布を有する長さである、近距離場アンテナアセンブリ。
