本発明は、樹脂潤滑用グリース組成物に関する。さらに詳細には、樹脂製部材間、樹脂製部材と他の素材製部材例えば、金属製部材との間の潤滑に使用するのに適した樹脂潤滑用グリース組成物に関する。

【従来の技術】
近年、自動車等の軽量化を目的として、種々の金属製部材に代えて樹脂製部材が使用されることが多くなってきている。例えば、自動車の電動パワーステアリング(EPS)の減速機構部には、樹脂(ポリアミド)製ウォームホイールギヤと、鋼製ウォームギヤが使用されている。これらの樹脂製部材間、及び樹脂製部材と金属製部材間の潤滑に使用されるグリース組成物として、特開平8−209167号公報には、水酸基を含む脂肪酸又は多価アルコールの脂肪酸エステルを含む樹脂潤滑用グリース組成物が記載されている。このグリース組成物は、自動車の電動パワーステアリングの減速機構部に使用した場合、長時間使用後にもトルクの変動が抑制され、長時間運転しても、ハンドル操作に違和感がないという点で優れている。
しかしながら、このグリース組成物を大型車のEPSに適用すると、潤滑箇所が高荷重になって使用条件が厳しくなり、静摩擦力の増大からハンドルをゆっくり切った時に引っ掛かりを生じたり、耐久寿命が短い等の問題がある。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
従って、本発明の目的は、潤滑部の静摩擦係数を低くし、潤滑部の耐久寿命を長くすることができる樹脂潤滑用グリース組成物を提供することである。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明は、増ちょう剤と基油を含むグリースに、モンタンワックスを含有させたことを特徴とする樹脂潤滑用グリース組成物である。

【発明の実施の形態】

本発明のグリース組成物に使用する基油は、特に制限されず、全ての基油が使用可能である。例えば、鉱油、ジエステル、ポリオールエステルに代表されるエステル系合成油、ポリαオレフィン、ポリブテンに代表される合成炭化水素油、アルキルジフェニルエーテル、ポリプロピレングリコールに代表されるエーテル系合成油、シリコーン油、フッ素化油等が挙げられる。これらのうち、特に好ましいものは、合成炭化水素油である。合成炭化水素油は、各種樹脂との適合性が高く、耐熱性と低温流動性のバランスが取れているためである。合成炭化水素油の動粘度は6〜15mm2/s(100℃)が望ましい。

本発明のグリース組成物に使用する増ちょう剤は、特に制限されず、全ての増ちょう剤が使用可能である。例えば、Li石けんや複合Li石けんに代表される石けん系増ちょう剤、ジウレアに代表されるウレア系増ちょう剤、有機クレイやシリカに代表される無機系増ちょう剤、PTFEに代表される有機系増ちょう剤等が挙げられる。これらのうち、特に好ましいものは、ウレア系増ちょう剤である。ウレア系増ちょう剤は、高荷重下の潤滑による発熱に対する耐性に優れ、他の増ちょう剤と比較して安価であり、従って実用性が大きい。
本発明のグリース組成物中の増ちょう剤の含有量は、増ちょう剤の種類により異なる。本発明のグリース組成物のちょう度は、200〜400が好適であり、増ちょう剤の含有量はこのちょう度を得るのに必要な量となる。本発明のグリース組成物中、増ちょう剤の含有量は、通常3〜30質量%、好ましくは5〜25質量%である。

本発明に使用するモンタンワックスは、褐炭を原料とし、これを精製、酸化して得られるモンタン酸をベースとするワックスの総称である。市販品としては、クラリアント社製のモンタンワックス、例えば、Licowax U、Licowax S等の酸ワックス、Licowax E、Licowax KPS等のエステルワックス、Licowax OP、Licowax O等の部分ケン化エステルワックス等が挙げられる。

モンタンワックスを初めとするワックスを、樹脂の滑剤として使用することは既知である。滑剤は、ポリマー(樹脂)への溶解度によって、内部滑剤と外部滑剤に分類されるが、いずれも樹脂内部へ添加して使用するものである。この使用法は、系外の潤滑剤であるグリース組成物に添加して使用する方法とは大きく異なる。
また、モンタンワックスをグリース組成物に添加することは、特公昭63−26799号公報に記載されている。しかし、このグリース組成物は金属製部材間、具体的には鋼製部材間の潤滑性の向上を目的とするものであって、本発明のように樹脂製部材の潤滑を目的としたものではない。

本発明のグリース組成物中、モンタンワックスの含有量は、好ましくは0.5〜20質量%、より好ましくは1〜10質量%である。0.5質量%未満では、目的とする効果の発現が不十分であり、20質量%を超えると、グリース組成物が硬くなりすぎて、使用が困難になる。

本発明のグリース組成物には必要に応じて種々の添加剤を添加することができる。このような添加剤としては、例えば、酸化防止剤、錆止め剤、金属腐食防止剤、油性剤、耐摩耗剤、極圧剤、固体潤滑剤等が挙げられる。
本発明のグリース組成物は、基油、増ちょう剤、モンタンワックス及びその他の添加剤を所望の配合割合で混合することにより容易に製造することができる。

本発明のグリース組成物により潤滑される樹脂の種類は特に限定されない。例えば、自動車の電動パワーステアリングの減速機構部のウォームホイールギヤに使用されているポリアミド樹脂(ナイロン)の他、ポリアミドイミド樹脂、ポリアセタール樹脂、ポリブチレンテレフタレート樹脂、ポリエーテルエーテルケトン樹脂、ポリフェニレンスルフィド樹脂等が挙げられる。これらのうち、酸または酸誘導体の基、すなわち極性基を有する樹脂が好ましい。

表1及び表2に示す成分を表1及び表2に示す割合で配合し、実施例1〜3、比較例1〜4のグリース組成物を調製した。比較例5のグリース組成物は、従来(低荷重)条件下での実績グリースである。

試験・評価方法
・静摩擦係数
実機EPSの「ハンドルをゆっくり切った時の引っ掛かり」に相関する評価方法として実施する。摩擦係数が0.1以下を合格とする。

・EPS耐久寿命
実機EPSを用いた台上耐久試験。ポリアミド樹脂製ウォームホイールギヤの摩耗による耐久寿命を求める。なお、耐久寿命試験は、静摩擦試験で合格したグリース組成物についてのみ行った。
(試験法)実機EPSのポリアミド樹脂製ウォームホイール部に試験グリースを塗布し、運転を行う。一定時間ごとにポリアミド樹脂製ギヤの摩耗(バックラッシ)を計測し、これが急激に増大した時間を耐久寿命時間とした。試験は、負荷であるP値を従来条件(P:1)、従来条件の1.6倍(P:1.6)の2水準で実施した。
合格基準:P:1.6の条件下での耐久寿命が、基準の耐久寿命に対して5以上のものを合格とする。ここで「基準の耐久寿命」とは、従来のグリース(比較例5)を、従来のP値(P:1)条件下で試験したときの耐久寿命を1としたときの相対寿命時間を意味する。
試験結果を表1及び表2に示す。

試験結果
モンタンワックスを含有する本発明の実施例1〜3のグリース組成物はすべて静摩擦係数は0.07、EPS耐久寿命はP:1で10、P:1.6で5以上であった。
これに対して、モンタンワックス及び他の添加剤を含まない比較例1のグリース組成物は、静摩擦係数が0.25と高く、不合格であった。
モンタンワックス以外のワックスを含有する比較例2及び3のグリース組成物は、静摩擦係数がそれぞれ0.25及び0.20と高く、これらのワックスは静摩擦係数を低減させる効果がないことがわかる。
鋼の潤滑作用が顕著であることが知られているZnDTPを含有する比較例4のグリース組成物の静摩擦係数は0.25であり、ZnDTPは樹脂潤滑効果を示さないことがわかる。
現行実績品である比較例5のグリース組成物は、静摩擦係数は0.07と合格であるが、EPS耐久寿命が0.05と低く、本発明の目的を達成し得ないことがわかる。

本発明のグリース組成物は、モンタンワックスを含有しているため、従来より高荷重の条件下で、樹脂製部材の静摩擦係数を低くし、従来のグリース組成物と比較して耐久寿命をはるかに長くすることができる。従って、大型車のEPSに適用した場合には、ハンドルをゆっくり切っても引っ掛かりを生じたりすることはなく、また、樹脂製ギヤの耐摩耗性を顕著に向上させ、耐久寿命を長くする。[0001]

The base oil used in the grease composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and all base oils can be used. For example, mineral oils, diesters, ester synthetic oils typified by polyol esters, polyalphaolefins, synthetic hydrocarbon oils typified by polybutene, alkyl diphenyl ethers, ether synthetic oils typified by polypropylene glycol, silicone oils, fluorinated Oil etc. are mentioned. Of these, synthetic hydrocarbon oils are particularly preferred. This is because the synthetic hydrocarbon oil is highly compatible with various resins and has a good balance between heat resistance and low temperature fluidity. The thickener used in the grease composition of the present invention is not particularly limited, and all thickeners can be used. The coefficient of static friction of the grease composition of Comparative Example 4 containing ZnDTP, which is known to have a remarkable lubricating action of steel, is 0.25, indicating that ZnDTP does not show a resin lubricating effect.
It can be seen that the grease composition of Comparative Example 5, which is an actual product, has a coefficient of static friction of 0.07, but has an EPS durability life as low as 0.05, and cannot achieve the object of the present invention.
