紙カップは、一般的には、例えば図4、図5に示すように、扇形状の胴紙の一方の端縁をもう一方の端縁に重ね合わせて接合させ、下方に向かって先細る円筒形状の胴部材とする胴部材形成工程(a)、別に底部材用ロールからほぼ円形状に打ち抜かれた底紙を外周縁部を下向きに起立させて底部材とする底部材形成工程(b)、胴部材の下部内面に底部材の外周縁部の内面を接合させる接合工程(c)、さらに外周縁部を覆うように前記胴部材の下端縁部を内方に折り曲げ、底部材の外周縁部の外面に接合させて環状脚部(24)が形成される環状脚部形成工程(d)、最後に胴部材の上部周縁を外方に向けて巻き込み、口縁部(23)を形成させる口縁部形成工程(e)の各工程を経て、胴部(21)と底部(22)を有する紙カップ(20)を作製している。

通常の紙カップは環状脚部の高さを4〜10mm程度にしているので、通常の紙カップに内容物を入れて電子レンジ加熱調理を行うと紙カップの底部周辺の端面は焦げてしまうことになる。

従来の紙カップ成形法で環状脚部の高さを3mm以下にして成形することも可能である。しかし、この場合には、環状脚部の有効接着幅は2mm程度ないしそれ以下になってしまう。このような接着状態では電子レンジによる内容物の高温度化、対流、さらには油分を含む内容物の場合等を考慮すると、この接着幅では電子レンジ加熱することにより内容物に滲み、漏れ等が発生し易い。

本発明は、紙カップに、例えば、即席麺に水を加える等して電子レンジで加熱調理を行う際に生じる以上のような問題点を解決するためになされたもので、電子レンジによる加熱調理が可能な紙カップを提供することを課題とする。

【課題を解決するための手段】
本発明の請求項1の発明は、胴部と底部とからなり、開口部周縁が外側にカールした口縁部を有する紙カップであって、胴部と底部の接合部分の周縁は内側にカールした環状カール部が形成されると共に、環状カール部の近傍を除いた底部は平坦で、底部の環状カール部近傍は盆縁状に盛り上がり、環状カール部近傍を除いた底部より高く形成され、環状カール部の下縁と環状カール部近傍を除いた底部との段差を3mm以下にしたことを特徴とする電子レンジ用紙カップである。

本発明の電子レンジ用紙カップを一実施形態に基づいて以下に詳細に説明する。

本発明の電子レンジ用紙カップは、胴部(11)と底部(12)とからなり、開口部周縁が外側にカールした口縁部(13)を有する紙カップである。
そして、胴部(11)と底部(12)の接合部分の周縁は内側にカールした環状カール部(14)が形成されている。

【実施例】
以下実施例により本発明をさらに詳細に説明する。
〈実施例1〉
先ず、胴部を形成する胴部材として坪量270g/m2 のカップ原紙の内面側に厚さ30μmの低密度ポリエチレン樹脂を塗布した総厚みが0.32mmのポリエチレン加工紙を、また、底部を形成する底部材として坪量210g/m2 のカップ原紙の内面側に厚さ20μmの低密度ポリエチレン樹脂を塗布した総厚みが0.23mmのポリエチレン加工紙を、それぞれ準備した。

〈比較例1〉
実施例1と同じ胴部材、底部材を用いて、従来通りの環状脚部を有する実施例1と同じ寸法の紙カップを一般的な紙カップ成形機を用いて作製し、比較例1の紙カップとした。なお、環状脚部の高さは10mmである。

こうして作製した実施例1種類、比較例1種類、合計2類の紙カップの電子レンジ適性を下記する方法により評価した。その結果を表1い示す。
