【発明の属する技術分野】本発明は、ゲーム装置などで
二人でゲームを楽しむための二人用のリモートコントロ
ーラに関する。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】ゲーム装置等を二人で
楽しむことができるゲームソフトが多く開発されており
大型のゲーム装置では、テーブルに別々に操作部を設け
たものがある。これをリモートコントロールで競技者の
いずれにもコントローラを持たせるとすると図2および
図3に示す方式が考えられる。図2に示す方式は赤外線
制御用コントローラ本体1と、有線制御用コントローラ
本体2を用いる方式であり、赤外線制御用コントローラ
本体1からの赤外線信号はゲーム機3のゲーム機の受信
窓3aを介して赤外線センサで受信され復調され、ゲー
ム機の制御に利用される。有線制御用コントローラ本体
2の出力電気信号はケーブルによりゲーム機の受信端子
3bに直接接続されている。図3に示す方式は両者とも
に赤外線制御用コントローラ本体1を用い、それぞれの
赤外線制御用コントローラ本体1からの赤外線信号はゲ
ーム機3のゲーム機の受信窓3aを介して赤外線センサ
で受信され復調され制御に利用される。
【0003】両方式はそれぞれ得失があるが、いずれも
それぞれのコントローラに独立した機能を持たせる必要
があるから全体として、高価になりやすい。本発明の目
的は、簡単な構成であるが確実に動作をさせることがで
きる二人でゲームを楽しむための二人用のリモートコン
トローラを提供することにある。

【課題を解決するための手段】前記目的を達成するため
に、本発明による二人用のリモートコントローラは、コ
ントローラで入力した信号を赤外線信号に変換して送出
し、受信機で受信して制御を行うリモートコントロール
システムにおいて、入力キーを備え、キー入力に従って
形成された電気信号を送出する有線コントローラと、前
記有線コントローラから連結ケーブルを介して送られる
電気信号および自己の入力キーを備え、そのキー入力に
従って形成された電気信号のそれぞれにより赤外線を変
調する変調手段ならびにいずれかのコントローラにより
入力されたかを識別可能にするため前記電気信号を時分
割で送出する回路を有し、前記受信機に向けて赤外線を
送出する赤外線コントローラとを備え、前記受信機は、
タイムスロット中の位置によりいずれかのコントローラ
から送出された電気信号であるかを識別する回路を有し
ている。前記赤外線コントローラは、内蔵乾電池および
外部ACアダプタからの電力のいずれかにより動作可能
であり、一人用のリモートコントローラとしての機能を
備えている。前記有線コントローラは、前記連結ケーブ
ルを介して前記赤外線コントローラから動作電力を供給
されることができる。前記赤外線コントローラから送出
される赤外線はPPM変調されたものとし、各コントロ
ーラの信号は時分割で送出される。

【発明の実施の形態】以下、図面等を参照して本発明を
さらに詳しく説明する。図1は本発明による二人用のリ
モートコントローラの実施例を使用したシステムの略図
である。本発明による二人用のリモートコントローラ
は、コントローラで入力した信号を赤外線信号に変換し
て送出し、受信機で受信して制御を行うリモートコント
ロールシステムに関するものである。有線コントローラ
本体20はプラスキートップ25、操作キー群28を備
え、それらのキーに従って形成された電気信号を送出す
るものである。電気信号は接続線50、コネクタ(DI
N)51により後述する赤外線コントローラ本体10に
接続されている。この実施例では有線コントローラ20
には電源が設けられておらず前記接続線50を介して後
述する赤外線コントローラ本体から動作電力の供給を受
ける。
【0006】赤外線コントローラ本体10はプラスキー
トップ15、操作キー群18を備え、それらのキーにし
たがって形成された電気信号で赤外線をPPM変調して
前端に設けられた赤外線放射窓12を介して受信装置3

は前方±40度の範囲内であって、かなり広くなってい
る。なお、前述した有線コントローラ20から接続線5

センサ31に向けられていなければならない。一方、有
線コントローラ本体20は接続線50で赤外線コントロ
ーラ本体10に接続されているからいずれの方向を向い
ていても支障はない。

る二人用のリモートコントローラでは、各競技者はそれ
ぞれ独立のキーで操作をすることができ、信号は1台の
送信部から時分割リアルタイムで送出される。赤外線送
