Abstract

Description

This invention relates to a card storage box for storing various types of cards, such as trading cards.

For example, trading cards for games are sold as booster packs, in which multiple cards are placed in a packaging bag.
As a case for storing cards removed from this booster pack, or as a case for selling a set of booster packs and card cases, for example, a card storage box as described in Non-Patent Document 1 is known.

This conventional card storage box is a square cardboard box with a lid, with only the top open, in which multiple trading cards removed from each booster pack can be stored, lined up horizontally with the front and back faces of the cards overlapping each other.
This makes it possible to make a card storage box that can be used not only as a storage box for trading cards, but also as a packaging box for selling booster packs, card cases, etc. as a set.

However, conventional card storage boxes are square boxes with only the top open, and the trading cards are stored in such boxes lined up horizontally with their front and back faces overlapping each other.
This makes it difficult to remove cards from the box, and when searching for a particular card among the packed cards, the user must first grab the edges of multiple cards with their fingertips, pull them out of the box, and then find the desired card from among them again.

As a result of extensive research, the inventor discovered that all of the above problems could be solved by placing (storing) a card tray that can hold multiple cards and that can be rotated 90 degrees in and out of the box together with the front panel of the box body, which has an open top, and is stored in the internal space of the box body, thus completing the present invention.

That is, when removing a card, the front panel of the card storage box placed on the table is rotated 90 degrees outward, and the card tray connected to the front panel rotates in the same manner, exposing each card in the tray in an upright position outside the box. This allows the user to easily find the desired card by simply shifting each card in the tray exposed from the front of the box sideways with their fingertips, without having to grab the ends of multiple cards as in conventional products.
On the other hand, when storing cards, the front panel of the box body is rotated 90 degrees toward the inside of the box, causing the front panel to stand up and the card tray with the cards inserted therein to be stored inside the box.

The present invention was developed in consideration of these conventional problems, and aims to provide a card storage box that reduces the risk of scratching or bending the cards when removing them, and allows the user to easily and quickly find and remove the desired card.

As shown in Figures 1 and 3, a card storage box 10 according to a first embodiment of the present invention has an internal space a of a box body 11, which is a square box with an open top, in which a number of rectangular trading cards (cards) 12 are stored in a horizontal row with their corresponding front and back faces overlapping.
A feature of the card storage box 10 is that a card tray 14 is disposed in the internal space a of the box body 11. The card tray 14 can be rotated 90 degrees inward and outward together with the front panel 13 of the box body 11, and can store multiple trading cards 12.

The trading card 12 is made of paper and has dimensions of 63 mm width, 88 mm height, and 0.3 mm thickness.

Of these, the pair of left and right tray side plates 25 are plate pieces that narrow in width (or may be rectangular) in an arc shape toward the front.
A pair of left and right hook slits 28 extending in the front-rear direction are formed in the middle of the left and right ends of the bottom plate 15. A left hook protrusion 29 that hooks into the left hook slit 28 is formed in the middle of the tip (left end) of the inner left plate 17. Meanwhile, a right hook protrusion 29 that hooks into the right hook slit 28 is formed in the middle of the tip (right end) of the inner right plate 18.

Two parallel folds b are formed at 5 mm intervals between the inner left plate 17 and the outer left plate 17, and between the inner right plate 18 and the outer right plate 18. By folding the corresponding inner and outer left plates 17 and inner and outer right plates 18 through these folds b, a left gap c and a right gap d are formed.

The card tray 14 is a horizontally long container with an L-shaped cross section, which has a tray front plate 23, a tray bottom plate 24, a pair of left and right tray side plates 25, and a pair of left and right tray stopper pieces 27. That is, when stored in the box body 11, the card tray 14 is open on both the top and back (see Figure 1).

Of these, the size of the tray front panel 23 is 137 mm in width and 73.5 mm in height, which corresponds to the horizontal length (63 mm) of the trading card 12 .
The tray bottom plate 24 has a width of 137 mm and a depth of 95 mm, which corresponds to the vertical length (88 mm) of the trading card 12 .
Therefore, when the tray is stored in the box body 11, the vertical ends of the trading cards 12 are supported by the tray bottom plate 24, while when the tray is erected outside the box body 11, the horizontal ends of the trading cards 12 are supported by the tray front plate 23.

Next, a method of using (assembling) the card storage box 10 according to the first embodiment of the present invention will be described with reference to FIGS.
As shown in FIG. 2, first, in the unfolded card storage box (vertically long cardboard) 10, the rear panel 16 is raised (valley fold) at the rear end of the bottom panel 15 via crease b, and then the pair of left and right edge pieces 22 are folded inward at the left and right ends of the rear panel 16 via crease b.

In this state, the left plate 17 and the right plate 18 are each raised.
Specifically, the outer left plate 17 is folded inward at the crease b at the left end of the bottom plate 15 to stand up. Then, the inner left plate 17 is folded inward at the two parallel creases b to create a left gap c of 5 mm between these plates. To maintain this state, the hook projection 29 of the inner left plate 17 is hooked into the hook slit 28 on the left side of the bottom plate 15 with the left edge plate piece 22 rolled into the left gap c.

Meanwhile, the outer right plate 18 is raised at the right end of the bottom plate 15. The inner right plate 18 is then folded inward along the two creases b, creating a right-side gap d of 5 mm width between the plates. To maintain this state, the right-side edge plate piece 22 is rolled into the right-side gap d, and the hook projection 29 of the inner right plate 18 is hooked into the hook slit 28 on the right side of the bottom plate 15.

Next, the tray bottom plate 24 is folded outward (mountain fold) along crease b at the tip of the tray front plate 23, and then the pair of left and right tray side plates 25 are folded outward along crease b at the left and right ends of the tray bottom plate 24, respectively.
Next, the pair of corresponding left and right tray stopper pieces 27 are folded outward at the rear ends of each tray side plate 25, and then the tips of each tray stopper piece 27 are hooked together in front of the tray front plate 23 via a pair of upper and lower hook portions 26.

Thereafter, the tray front plate 23 is folded inward along two parallel creases b at the front end of the front plate 13. As a result, a front gap e having a width of 5 mm is formed between the front plate 13 and the tray front plate 23 with each tray stopper piece 27 inserted.
Thereafter, the front panel 13 is folded inward along the crease b at the front end of the bottom panel 15 to stand up, and the card tray 14 connected integrally to the front panel 13 is placed in the internal space a, and the box body 11 with an open top is assembled. At this time, the card tray 14 is in a state where the tray bottom panel 24 overlaps the bottom panel 15.

Thereafter, the cover plate 19 is folded inward along the crease b at the rear end of the rear plate 16 , thereby closing the opening at the top of the box body 11 with the cover plate 19 .
Then, at the rear end of the cover plate 19, the extended cover plate 20 is folded inward via the crease b, and at the left and right ends of the extended cover plate 20, a pair of left and right cover stopper pieces 21 are folded inward via each crease b, and each cover stopper piece 21 is inserted into the corresponding left side gap c or right side gap d, thereby hooking the cover plate 19 to the box body 11.

At the time of shipment from the factory, for example, a plurality of trading cards 12, a booster pack 31 in which a plurality of trading cards 12 are enclosed in a packaging bag 30, a card case 33, etc. are packed in the internal space a of the box body (card tray 14) 11 (see Figure 1).
A user who purchases this card storage box 10 stores multiple trading cards 12 in the card tray 14, lining them up horizontally so that the front and back faces of corresponding (adjacent cards 12) overlap (see FIG. 3). At this time, the lower long side of each trading card 12 is supported by the horizontally disposed tray bottom plate 24.

When using the card storage box 10, first place the card storage box 10 on a table (or a flat surface such as a floor) 32. Then, the user grasps the upper end of the front panel 13 of the box body 11 and rotates the card tray 14 together with the front panel 13 by 90 degrees toward the outside of the box, centered on the fold b between the front panel 13 and the bottom panel 15 (see the two-dot chain line in FIG. 1).
As a result, the card tray 14 connected to the front plate 13 rotates in the same manner, and each trading card 12 in the tray is exposed in an upright position outside the box (see FIG. 4). At this time, the lower short side of each trading card 12 is supported by the horizontally positioned tray front plate 23.

This allows a user to easily find a desired trading card 12 by simply sliding each trading card 12 in a card tray 14 exposed from the front of the box sideways as if stroking it with a fingertip, without having to grab the ends of the trading cards 12 as in conventional products.
As described above, this card storage box 10 can be rotated 90 degrees in and out of the box together with the front panel 13 of the box body 11, which has an open top, and the card tray 14, in which a plurality of trading cards 12 are stored, is disposed in the internal space a of the box body 11. Therefore, when the trading cards 12 are removed, there is little risk of the individual cards 12 being scratched or broken, and the desired trading card 12 can be found and removed easily and quickly.

This invention is a useful technology for a card storage box for storing various cards, such as trading cards.
