メタクリレート末端ポリジメチルシロキサンマクロマー(SiMac)を、米国特許第4,693,935号(Mazurek)「モノマーC3b」に記載のように調製した。機械的撹拌器、凝縮器、及び隔膜を装備し、乾燥アルゴンでパージした火炎乾燥した1リットルの三つ口フラスコに、ヘプタン(100ミリリットル)中D3(1g)の希釈溶液を入れ、両方とも新たに乾燥させた。5.5ミリリットルのBuLi溶液(ヘキサン中1.7M、9.35mmol)を導入し、開始反応を室温で一晩継続した。THF(496.8g)中の198.7gグラム(0.89モル)のD3を、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)管を介して反応フラスコに添加し、反応混合物を室温に維持しながら8時間重合を継続した。反応混合物のGC分析によって反応の進行を監視した。次いで、キャッピング剤、3-メタクリルオキシプロピルジメチルクロロシラン(2.26g、10.3mmol)を導入し、反応混合物を1時間撹拌し、その間、温度を約40℃に上昇させた超音波浴で更に撹拌した。得られたポリマー溶液を、激しく撹拌しながら過剰量のメタノールに注いだ。分離したポリマー画分をエチルエーテルに溶解し、水で洗浄した。有機層を硫酸マグネシウムで乾燥させ、濾過し、蒸発させた。得られたポリマーは、オリゴマーシロキサンなどの、検出可能な量の低分子量材料を含有しなかった。
調製例PE-1及びPE-2を、米国特許出願公開第2011/0300296号の実施例1~4に提供された方法を使用して調製した。重合を、316ステンレス鋼製試験缶(Fauske and Associates Inc,Burr Ridge Illから入手可能)を備えたVSP2断熱反応装置内の2段階反応により実施した。VSP2反応容器に、IOA、AA、又はAAm、上記で調製したSiMacマクロモノマー、及びABPを表2に示す量で配置した。重合混合物はまた、開始剤-1(VAZO 52)、及び連鎖移動剤(IOTG)を含み、重合を、米国特許出願公開第2011/0300296号の実施例1~4に記載されるように実施した。
PSAコーティング重量測定
コーティングされていないフィルム基材の24in2の試料(4in×6in又は10cm×15cm)の重量を、PSAコーティングされたフィルム基材の24in2の試料の重量から差し引き、24in2当たりの塗粒中のPSAコーティングの重量として報告した。
PSAテープ試料を幅1インチ(2.54cm)に切断し、4.5lbのハンドローラーを使用してPVC(ポリ塩化ビニル)試験基材上に圧延した。試料及び基材を室温水の下に完全に沈め、水中で5分間維持した。5分後、試料を水から取り出し、ペーパータオルで軽く乾燥させて余分な水を除去した。
ヒト皮膚に対する組成物の接着力の評価は、本質的に可変の判定である。ヒトの皮膚は、様々な体液の存在又は不在によって影響を受け得る、組成物、トポグラフィー、及び接着力の広範な変化を有する。しかしながら、テープ又は包帯接着の比較平均値は、本明細書に記載される数人の個人からの試験結果を使用することによって達成可能である。
剥離接着強度を以下の方法で測定し、これは一般にASTM D 3330-90に記載の手順に従った。剥離接着強度は、ZwickモデルZ005引張試験機(Zwick USA、Kennesaw、GA)を使用して、72°F(22℃)及び相対湿度(RH)50%にて測定した。幅1インチ(2.54センチメートル)×長さ約5インチ(12.7センチメートル)のテープ試験片を、予め洗浄した平坦な剛性基材(ステンレス鋼(SS)、ポリプロピレン(PP)、ポリエチレン(PE)、又はポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)のいずれか)に適用した。溶剤(メチルエチルケトン又はヘプタンのいずれか)及び清潔なリントフリーティッシュで1回拭き取ることによって基材を洗浄した後、使用前に空気乾燥させた。SS基材は厚さ0.052インチ(1.31ミリメートル)であり、PP及びPE基材は厚さ0.188インチ(4.76ミリメートル)であり、PVC基材は厚さ0.0625インチ(1.59ミリメートル)であった。テープ試料を基材に適用するために、機械的ローラー機又は手で操作された4.5ポンド(約2キログラム)の硬質ゴムローラーを使用して、基材表面との密接な接触を確実にした。手で操作されたローラーは、更なる力を伴わずに約2インチ(50ミリメートル)/秒の速度で使用した。120インチ/分(305cm/分)の設定を機械的ローラー機で使用した。試験片を、準備直後に試験した(すなわち、「瞬間剥離」又はT0として報告される即時放置時間)か、又は試験前に72°F(22℃)及び相対湿度50%で24又は72時間などの、報告された時間平衡化(放置)させた(それぞれ、T24剥離又はT72剥離として報告される)。テープ試験片の自由端をロードセル装置に取り付け、試験片を180°の剥離角度を提供するように配向させた。基材を機器上の可動プラテンに取り付けた。剥離接着試験は、12インチ(30.48センチメートル)/分の一定速度で実施し、平均剥離接着力をオンス/インチで記録した。5回の測定結果を平均して報告値を得た。
静的剪断接着力を以下の方法で測定し、これは一般にASTM D 3654-88に記載の手順に従った。2インチ(5.08センチメートル)×2インチ(5.08センチメートル)のステンレス鋼(SS)パネルを、溶剤(メチルエチルケトン又はヘプタンのいずれか)及び清潔なリントフリーティッシュで3回拭き取ることによって洗浄した。幅1インチ(2.54センチメートル)×長さ約2インチ(5.08センチメートル)に測定したテープ試験片を、洗浄したパネルの中央に置き、テープ試験片がパネルに長さ方向で1インチ(2.54センチメートル)重なり、テープ試験片の縁部がパネルの縁部と平行になるように片端に接着した。次に、テープ試験片を、4.5ポンド(約2キログラム)のゴムローラーを使用して、各方向に1回ローラ押圧した。テープ試験片/試験パネルアセンブリを室温で24時間コンディショニングし、次いで室温でスタンドに吊るし、パネルを垂直から2度の角度で傾けて、剪断力を確保した。500グラムの重りを、テープ試験片の自由端から吊り下げた。テープ試験片がパネルから落下するまでの時間(分単位)を記録した。損傷が10,000分経過しても生じない場合には試験を打ち切り、結果は「10,000+」として記録した。
各ポリマー又はポリマー混合物の場合、溶融した成分を、接触ダイコーティングステーションを備えた二軸押出機(温度が140~165℃以下に維持された)に添加し、均質になるまでブレンドした後、基材バッキング上にコーティングした。コーティング条件は、ギアポンプ、可撓性ホース、及び接触コーティングダイを、142~163℃の範囲内の同じ温度に設定することを伴った。ギアポンプ及びフィルム引き取り速度を調整して、24in2当たりの塗粒として記録されたコーティング重量(試料寸法4インチ×6インチ)を提供した。
実施例4~6及び比較例CE-3及びCE-4を、上記の試験方法に従って静的剪断接着力について試験した。比較例CE-3はテープ-1であり、比較例CE-4はテープ-2である。結果を表6に示す。
2つのPSAを単層として単純にブレンドすることによって、二層接着剤に示される同じ効果が得られるかどうかを試験するために、一連の比較例を調製し試験した。比較例CE-6はPSA-2であり、比較例CE-7は、PSA-2及びPSA-4の50/50ブレンド重量であり、比較例CE-8はPSA-4である。接着剤又は接着剤混合物を、二軸押出機によってインラインでブレンドし、接触ダイでバッキング1上にコーティングした。接着剤を、楕円形を有する32%オープンパターンでパターンコーティングし、次いで、50%の出力でUV硬化させた。剥離接着力試験を、上記の試験方法に従って試料で実施した。データを表10に提示する。ブレンドされた接着剤組成物は、それ自体でそれぞれの接着剤からの異なる剥離接着力を示すが、本開示の二層接着剤物品に示される効果は、2つの接着剤組成物のブレンドによっては達成されない。
実施例7では、24in2当たり6塗粒にてPSA-5でコーティングされたバッキング1の試料を、楕円形を有する32%オープンパターンを用いて24in2当たり6塗粒にてPSA-4でロータリーロッドダイコーティングし、50%の出力でUV硬化させた。上記の試験法を用いて、実施例7及び比較例CE-9を、剥離接着力について試験した。比較例CE-9はテープ4である。結果を表11に示す。上記の試験法を用いて、実施例7及び比較例CE-9を、湿潤PVCへの剥離接着力について試験した。結果を表12に示す。
パターン化された第2の接着剤層を配置するプロセスが特性に影響を及ぼすかどうかを判定するために、実施例8A及び8Bの異なるプロセスを使用して、実施例8の一連の試料を生成した。実施例9では、バッキングをPSA-4でコーティングし、PSA-5のパターンコーティングでオーバーコートした。比較例C-10はテープ5である。
実施例8Aのプロセス1では、コーティングされたテープの一部を、楕円形を有する32%オープンパターンを用いて24in2当たり6塗粒にてPSA-4でパターンコーティングし、次いで、50%の出力でUV硬化させた。
実施例8Bのプロセス2では、剥離ライナーを、楕円形を有する32%のオープンパターンを用いて24in2当たり6塗粒にてPSA-4でパターンコーティングした。次いで、この接着剤コーティングされた剥離ライナーを、コーティングされたテープの一部に積層し、次いで、50%の出力でUV硬化させた。
Claims (22)
- 接着剤物品であって、
第1の主面及び第2の主面を含む第1の基材と、
多層接着剤と、を含み、前記多層接着剤が、
第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する第1の接着剤の層であって、前記第1の接着剤の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の基材の前記第1の主面と接触している、第1の接着剤の層と、
シロキサン-(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーを含む、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有するシロキサン系感圧接着剤の層であって、前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の接着剤の前記第1の主面と接触している、シロキサン系感圧接着剤の層と、を含み、
前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層の厚さが、前記第1の接着剤層の厚さよりも薄い、接着剤物品。 - 前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤が、UV開始剤を更に含み、前記多層接着剤が、UV放射に曝露されている、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記第1の基材が、ポリマーフィルム、布地、不織布、発泡体、紙、メッシュ、接着剤、又は剥離ライナーを含む、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記第1の接着剤が、(メタ)アクリレート系感圧接着剤又はシロキサンゲル接着剤を含む、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記第1の接着剤が、少なくとも1つのアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと少なくとも1つの補強モノマーとの(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーを含む(メタ)アクリレート系感圧接着剤を含む、請求項4に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記シロキサン-(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーが、
少なくとも1つのエチレン性不飽和シロキサン含有マクロマーと、
少なくとも1つのアルキル(メタ)アクリレートモノマーと、
少なくとも1つの補強モノマーと、を含む反応混合物の反応生成物を含む、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。 - 前記補強モノマーが、酸官能性アクリレートモノマー又は塩基官能性アクリレートモノマーから選択される、請求項6に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記接着剤層が、25~100マイクロメートルの厚さを有し、前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層の厚さが、前記接着剤層の総厚の25%以下を構成する、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層が、不連続層を含む、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 第2の基材を更に含み、前記第2の基材が、前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤の前記第1の主面と接触している、請求項1に記載の接着剤物品。
- 接着剤物品であって、
第1の主面及び第2の主面を含む第1の基材と、
多層接着剤と、を含み、前記多層接着剤が、
第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する第1の接着剤の連続層であって、前記第1の接着剤の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の基材の前記第1の主面と接触している、第1の接着剤の連続層と、
不連続な第2の接着剤の層であって、前記第2の接着剤の層が、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有し、前記第2の接着剤層の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の接着剤の前記第1の主面と接触している、不連続な第2の接着剤の層と、を含み、
前記第1の接着剤層の厚さが、前記第2の接着剤層の厚さよりも薄く、
前記第1の接着剤及び前記第2の接着剤が、異なる感圧接着剤を含む、接着剤物品。 - 前記不連続な第2の接着剤の層が、パターン化層を含む、請求項11に記載の接着剤物品。
- 前記第1の接着剤が、(メタ)アクリレート系感圧接着剤を含む、請求項11に記載の接着剤物品。

- 前記接着剤層が、25~100マイクロメートルの厚さを有し、前記第1の接着剤層の厚さが、前記接着剤層の総厚の25%以下を構成する、請求項11に記載の接着剤物品。
- 接着剤物品を製造する方法であって、
第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する第1の基材を提供することと、
前記第1の基材の前記第1の主面上に多層接着剤構造を形成することと、を含み、多層接着剤構造を形成することが、
第1の接着剤組成物又は第1の予備接着剤組成物を提供することであって、前記予備接着剤組成物が、硬化すると、接着剤組成物を形成する、提供することと、
前記第1の接着剤又は予備接着剤組成物を、前記第1の基材の前記第1の主面の少なくとも一部に配置して、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有する第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層を形成することであって、前記第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の基材の前記第1の主面と接触している、第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層を形成することと、
シロキサン-(メタ)アクリレートコポリマーを含むシロキサン系感圧接着剤組成物を、前記第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層の前記第1の主面上に配置して、第1の主面及び第2の主面を有するシロキサン系感圧接着剤層を形成することであって、前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層の前記第2の主面が、前記第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層の前記第1の主面と接触しており、前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層の厚さが、前記第1の接着剤層又は予備接着剤層の厚さよりも薄い、シロキサン系感圧接着剤層を形成することと、
前記形成された接着剤構造を放射線に曝露することと、を含む、方法。 - 前記シロキサン系感圧接着剤層が、UV開始剤を更に含み、放射線への曝露が、UV放射への曝露を含む、請求項16に記載の方法。
