Abstract
Description
本発明の一実施形態のラックバーを備えるステアリング装置の概略構成について説明する。ステアリング装置としては、電動モータがコラムシャフトに動力を付与するコラムアシストタイプのアシスト機構を備えるラックアンドピニオン式電動パワーステアリング装置や、電動モータがピニオンシャフトに動力を付与するピニオンアシストタイプのアシスト機構を備えるラックアンドピニオン式電動パワーステアリング装置を適用できる。
本実施形態のラックバー11は、ギヤ比が一定であるコンスタントギアレシオのラックバーや、ラック歯の諸元をラックバーの軸線方向位置によって異ならせるバリアブルギヤレシオのラックバーに適用可能である。ここでは、コンスタントギアレシオのラックバーを例にあげる。
次に、ラックバー11の製造方法について説明する。切削装置に鋼材でなる中実の軸部材111Rをセットし、軸部材11Rの一端面にタイロッド12に連結するためのメネジ113を切削加工する(図7のステップS1)。そして、プレス装置に切削加工が完了した軸部材11Rをセットし、軸部材11Rの外周面にラック歯列112をプレス加工する(図7のステップS2)。
Claims (4)
- ピニオン歯と噛み合う複数のラック歯を有するラック歯列を備え、少なくとも前記ラック歯列の形成された部位が中実のラックバーであって、
前記ラック歯列の周方向全域に連続に形成された硬化層と、
前記硬化層の内側に形成され前記硬化層より低硬度である中央部と、
を備え、
前記ラックバーを軸心方向に見たときの前記硬化層の深さは、前記ラック歯の歯底、前記歯底に対し前記ラックバーにおける側面、前記歯底に対し前記ラックバーにおける背面の順に大きくなるように形成される、ラックバー。 - 前記硬化層は、前記ラック歯列の周方向全域を誘導加熱することで形成される、請求項1に記載のラックバー。
- 前記ラックバーは、車両のステアリング装置に用いられ、
前記ラックバーのラック径は、前記車両の要求仕様に対応する基準ラックバーの基準ラック径よりも小さく、且つ、前記ラックバーの軸心に対する前記ラック歯の歯底の位置は、前記基準ラックバーの軸心に対する基準ラック歯の歯底の位置よりも前記ラックバーの軸心方向へ変位しているように形成される、請求項1又は2に記載のラックバー。 - ハウジングと、
前記ハウジングに軸線方向に移動可能に支持され、車両の車輪に連接される請求項1−3の何れか一項に記載のラックバーと、
前記ハウジングに軸回りに回転可能に支持されて前記ラックバーの前記ラック歯列と噛み合わされ、前記車両のステアリングに連接されるピニオンシャフトと、
を備える、ステアリング装置。
