Description
Claims (10)
- 電子システム内のファンを制御する方法であって、
当該電子システムの正常動作を示唆するハートビート信号を監視する段階、
前記ハートビート信号の不一致を検出する段階、及び、
前記不一致に応じて安全なファンの速度に従って当該ファンを制御する段階、
を有する方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、
前記ハートビート信号が、当該電子システムのファン速さ制御回路によって生成され、
前記ハートビート信号は、前記ファン速さ制御回路の正常動作を示唆する、
方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法であって、
当該電子システムがコンピュータシステムで、
前記ファン速さ制御回路はベースボード管理コントローラである、
方法。 - 請求項2に記載の方法であって、前記不一致の検出前に前記ファン速さ制御回路によって前記安全なファンの速度を設定する段階をさらに有する、方法。
- 請求項4に記載の方法であって、前記安全なファンの速度が全速力未満である、方法。
- 請求項4に記載の方法であって、前記安全なファンの速度が、当該電子システムの起動時及び/又はリセット時に設定される、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、
前記ハートビート信号が周期的で、
前記不一致は、少なくとも1つの期間、2つ以上の連続期間、又は、2つ以上の不連続期間での前記ハートビート信号の欠如である、
方法。 - 請求項1に記載の方法であって、前記ハートビート信号が、ファン速さ制御信号内に埋め込まれるか、あるいは、前記ファン速さ制御信号とは分離する、方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法であって、
前記ハートビート信号の不一致が補正されないことを判断する段階、及び、
前記判断に応じて前記安全なファン速さに従って前記ファンの制御を継続する段階、
をさらに有する、方法。 - ハートビート信号を生成するように構成されるファン速さ制御回路、
ファン制御装置及びファンを有するファンモジュール、
を有する電子システムであって、
前記ハートビート信号は前記ファン速さ制御回路の正常動作を示唆し、
前記ファン制御装置は、前記ハートビート信号の不一致を検出し、前記不一致に応じて安全なファン速さに従って前記ファンを制御するように構成される、
を有する電子システム。
