Claims (7)
- 表示面を有する表示装置と、
前記表示装置の表示面に対向して配置され、自然光に対する透過率が50%以上である吸収型の第1の偏光板と、
前記表示装置と前記第1の偏光板との間に配置され、偏光成分を入射したときに、第1の方向の偏光成分を出射する状態と、該第1の方向とは異なる第2の方向の偏光成分を出射する状態と、に切り換えることができる液晶光学素子と、
前記表示装置と前記液晶光学素子との間に配置される反射型の第2の偏光板と、
を含む液晶装置。 - 表示面を有する表示装置と、
前記表示装置の表示面に対向して配置される吸収型の第1の偏光板と、
前記表示装置と前記第1の偏光板との間に配置される反射型の第2の偏光板と、
前記表示装置と前記第2の偏光板との間に配置され、偏光成分を入射したときに、第1の方向の偏光成分を出射する状態と、該第1の方向とは異なる第2の方向の偏光成分を出射する状態と、に切り換えることができる液晶光学素子と、
前記表示装置と前記液晶光学素子との間に配置される反射型の第3の偏光板と、
を含む液晶装置。 - 前記第1の偏光板は、自然光に対する透過率が50%以上である請求項2記載の液晶装置。
- 前記液晶光学素子は、ツイストネマチック型の液晶材料を用いた液晶層を含み、前記液晶層のリタデーションが0.8μm〜1.5μmの範囲内である請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の液晶装置。
- 前記液晶光学素子は、カイラル剤が添加されたバーティカルアライメント型の液晶材料を用いた液晶層を含み、カイラルピッチpに対する該液晶層の厚みdの比率d/pが0.250〜0.325の範囲内である請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の液晶装置。
- 前記液晶層のリタデーションは、0.35μm〜0.65μmの範囲内である請求項5記載の液晶装置。
- 前記表示装置は、表示面側に配置される吸収型の第4の偏光板を含む、請求項1〜3の何れかに記載の液晶装置。
