(D) characterizing a plurality of individual cells in the population based on the characterization of the one or more fragments in the plurality of discrete segments.

(B) dividing the cells into sections comprising a plurality of oligonucleotides comprising barcode sequences;
(C) binding the barcode sequence to an oligonucleotide reporter group present in the compartment;
(D) sequencing the oligonucleotide reporter group and the associated barcode;
(E) characterizing the cell surface features present on the cells based on the sequenced reporter oligonucleotide.

A composition comprising a plurality of sections, wherein each of the plurality of sections comprises (i) an individual cell, and (ii) a population of oligonucleotides comprising a common nucleic acid barcode sequence.

85. The composition of item 84, wherein the population of oligonucleotides in each of the plurality of sections is bound to beads disposed in each of the plurality of sections.

Claims (30)

A method of characterizing individual cells or cell populations,
