Abstract
Description
1. エンジンが動作出力範囲の下限で稼働する際に、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向を決定し、
2. エンジンが動作出力範囲の上限で稼働する際に、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向を決定し、
3. ベンチマーク触媒コンバータ基体を定める(define)ステップからなる。
・基体の外側の触媒ゾーン部分が基体の内側の触媒ゾーン部分を囲み、
・断熱材が前記内側と外側のゾーンを熱的に分離し、
・前記断熱材は前記基体を貫通して延び、前記基体の全長にわたって一様な断面を有し、
・前記一様な断面は、二つの想定される円筒と前記基体の上流側の面の交わりによって実質的に定められ、
・前記各想定される円筒は、吸気管の直径の1.08から1.20の間の呼び内径、0.8から4.0mmの肉厚及び、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向と一致する軸を有し、
・前記想定される円筒のうちの一つは、動作出力範囲の下限におけるガス流と関係し、もう一方の想定される円筒は、動作出力範囲の上限におけるガス流と関係する。
・図1は、軸対称触媒コンバータシステム22Aの概略図を示す。
・図2は、角度付き吸気口を有する触媒コンバータシステム22Bの概略図を示す。
・図3は、湾曲した吸気口を有する触媒コンバータシステム22Cの概略図を示す。
・エンジンが、関心のある動作出力範囲の下限にあるとき及び
・エンジンが、関心のある動作出力範囲の上限にあるときの、最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向を決定することに関係する。
・基体の外側の管状の触媒ゾーン部分が、前記基体の内側の触媒ゾーン部分を覆い、
・断熱材が、前記内側の触媒ゾーンと前記外側の触媒ゾーンを熱的に分離し、
・前記断熱材は、前記基体を貫通して延び、前記基体の全長にわたって一様な断面を有する。
・前記一様な断面は、二つの想定される円筒と前記基体の上流側の面の交わりによって実質的に定められ、
・各前記想定される円筒は、吸気管の直径の1.08から1.20の間の呼び(nominal)内径、0.8から4.0mmの肉厚及び、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向と一致する軸を有し、
・前記想定される円筒の1つのC1は、動作出力範囲の下限におけるガス流と関係し、もう一方の前記想定される円筒C2は、動作出力範囲の上限におけるガス流と関係する。
Claims (2)
- 動作出力範囲に上限及び下限を有する燃焼機関、及び使用時に、ディフューザコーンがなければ、エンジンから円筒状の吸気管につながる触媒コンバータ缶の実質的に全体を占める基体とともに用いるための方法であって、
エンジンが動作範囲の下限で稼働する際に、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向を決定するステップと、
エンジンが動作範囲の上限で稼働する際に、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向を決定するステップと、
前記基体の外側触媒ゾーン部分が前記基体の内側触媒ゾーンを定める部分を囲い、断熱材が熱的に前記ゾーンを分離し、前記断熱材が、前記基体を貫通して延び、前記基体の全長にわたって一様な断面を有し、前記一様な断面が2つの想定される円筒と前記基体の上流側の面との交わりによって実質的に定められるベンチマーク触媒コンバータ基体を定めるステップとからなり、
前記ベンチマークにおいて各前記想定される円筒が、吸気管の直径の1.08と1.20の間の呼び径、1〜4mmの肉厚、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向と一致する軸を有し、
前記ベンチマークにおいて前記円筒の一つが、動作出力範囲の下限におけるガス流と関係し、もう一方の前記円筒が、動作出力範囲の上限におけるガス流と関係する、
方法。 - 動作出力範囲に上限及び下限を有する燃焼機関とともに使用されるタイプの基体であり、さらに、円筒状の吸気管につながる触媒コンバータ缶の中で使用されるタイプの基体である、改良された触媒コンバータ基体であって、前記改良点が、
前記基体の内側触媒ゾーン部分と、
前記内側触媒ゾーンを囲む前記基体の外側触媒ゾーン部分と、
前記内側及び外側ゾーンを熱的に分離する断熱材とからなり、
前記断熱材において、前記断熱材が、前記基体を貫通して延び、前記基体の全長にわたって一様な断面を有し
前記断熱材において、前記一様な断面は2つの想定される円筒と基体の上流側の面との交わりによって実質的に定められ、各前記想定される円筒は、吸気管の直径の1.08と1.20の間の呼び径、1〜4mmの肉厚、吸気管と缶の交差部での最大ガス速度地点におけるガス方向と一致する軸を有し、
前記断熱材において、前記円筒の一つが、動作出力範囲の下限におけるガス流と関係し、もう一方の前記円筒が、動作出力範囲の上限におけるガス流と関係する、
改良された触媒コンバータ基体。
