Description

The present invention relates to a roof rail mounting structure for mounting a vehicle roof rail to an upper surface of the vehicle roof.

Conventionally, as described in Patent Document 1 below, for example, a roof rail attached to the upper surface of a roof of a vehicle is known. The roof rail of patent document 1 is being fixed to the upper surface of the roof of a vehicle via the leg (support leg).

In Patent Document 1, a fixing member (bolt) for fixing the leg to the roof rail and a fixing member (bolt) for fixing the leg to the roof are separate parts. On the other hand, as shown in FIG. 6, a fixing member F in which both bolts are integrated is also known. In the example shown in the figure, the leg LG is formed in a rectangular parallelepiped shape. The leg LG has a through hole HL penetrating in the vehicle height direction. The fixing member F is formed in a columnar shape extending in the vehicle height direction, and a screw groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface thereof. On the lower end surface of the fixing member F, a fitting portion (for example, a hexagon hole into which a hexagon wrench is inserted) that fits into a tool for rotating the fixing member F is formed. In addition, a stopper portion ST is formed at an intermediate portion of the fixing member F in the vehicle height direction. The stopper part ST is formed in a disk shape. The outer diameter of the stopper portion ST is slightly larger than the outer diameter of the portion where the screw groove is formed (that is, the outer diameter of the screw portion). The roof rail RR is formed in a cylindrical shape extending in the vehicle front-rear direction. As shown in FIGS. 7 and 8, a through hole HR penetrating in the vehicle height direction is formed in the lower wall portion of the roof rail RR. A so-called blind nut BN is fitted into the through hole HR. That is, when the tool for the blind nut BN is inserted into the through hole HR from below the roof rail RR and the tip of the tool is screwed into the nut portion of the blind nut BN, the intermediate portion of the blind nut BN projects outward. Thus, it buckles and is fixed to the roof rail RR. Thereby, the blind nut BN functions similarly to a normal nut. Next, the upper end portion of the fixing member F is inserted into the through hole HL from below the leg LG, and the upper end portion of the fixing member F is protruded upward from the upper surface of the leg LG. Then, the upper end portion of the fixing member F is fastened to the blind nut BN. In this state, the upper surface of the stopper portion ST is in contact with the lower surface of the leg LG. That is, the leg LG is sandwiched between the roof rail RR and the stopper portion ST. In this way, the leg LG is fixed to the roof rail RR.

In addition, an annular groove (concave portion) is formed on the lower surface of the leg LG. The central axis of this groove part and the central axis of through-hole HL are in agreement. That is, the groove is formed so as to surround the lower end of the through hole HL. An annular seal member SL is fitted into the groove. Further, a through hole HF that penetrates in the vehicle height direction is formed in the roof panel RF constituting the roof of the vehicle. The lower end portion of the fixing member F is inserted into the through hole HF, and the nut NT is fastened to the lower end portion of the fixing member F from below the roof panel RF. In this way, the roof rail RR is fixed to the upper surface of the vehicle roof.

The seal member SL prevents water (for example, rainwater) adhering to the surface of the roof panel RF or the surface of the leg LG from flowing into the roof (vehicle interior side) through the through hole HF. However, when water flows into the roof rail RR, as shown by a broken line in FIG. 8, there is a possibility that the water flows downward along the outer peripheral surface of the fixing member F and the water flows into the roof (inside the vehicle compartment). is there.

The present invention has been made to cope with the above-described problems, and an object of the present invention is to provide a roof rail mounting structure capable of suppressing the inflow of water into the roof (vehicle interior side). In addition, in the description of each constituent element of the present invention below, in order to facilitate understanding of the present invention, reference numerals of corresponding portions of the embodiment are described in parentheses, but each constituent element of the present invention is The present invention should not be construed as being limited to the configurations of the corresponding portions indicated by the reference numerals of the embodiments.

In order to achieve the above object, a feature of the present invention is a mounting structure for a vehicle roof rail, a roof rail (RR) extending along the roof panel (D) of the vehicle, and a roof rail attached to the roof panel. A fixing member (10) for fixing, and the fixing member is sandwiched between the roof rail and the roof panel, and supports the roof rail by contacting the roof rail and the roof panel. An upper screw portion extending upward from the upper surface of the support portion, the upper screw portion (12) fastened to a fastening portion (BN) provided on the roof rail, and a lower surface of the support portion. A lower screw portion extending downward, and inserted into a through hole (HF) formed in the roof panel, and a fastening portion (N ), And the support portion, the upper screw portion, and the lower screw portion are integrally formed, and are provided between the support portion and the roof panel. And a roof rail mounting structure having a seal member (SL) in close contact with the support portion and the roof panel. In this case, the seal member is configured to surround the periphery of the upper end portion (root portion) of the lower screw portion.

In this case, the seal member may be formed in an annular shape, and a recess (11b) into which the seal member is inserted may be formed on the lower surface of the support portion.

In this case, the support portion may be formed in a columnar shape extending in the vehicle height direction.

According to the roof rail mounting structure described above, the support functions as a conventional leg. Therefore, the number of parts can be reduced as compared with the prior art. Further, the water that has entered the roof rail flows downward along the upper screw portion, and further flows downward along the outer peripheral surface of the support portion. Although the support portion (the lower surface of the support portion) and the roof panel are in contact with each other, water can slightly flow into a slight gap between the contact portions. However, the seal member suppresses the water flowing into the contact portion from flowing into the through hole. That is, according to this invention, it can suppress that water flows in into a roof (vehicle interior side).

A structure for attaching a roof rail RR according to an embodiment of the present invention will be described. First, the configuration of the roof RF of the vehicle to which the roof rail RR is attached will be described. The roof RF is formed by joining a main panel RF1 and a side panel RF2 each formed in a plate shape (see FIGS. 1 and 3). Since the roof RF is formed symmetrically with respect to the center in the vehicle width direction, in the following description, only the right side portion of the roof RF will be described, and description of the left side portion will be omitted. The main panel RF1 is formed so as to cover the center of the vehicle compartment in the vehicle width direction. The side panel RF2 is formed so as to cover the right end portion of the passenger compartment. A stepped step portion RF11 is formed at the right end portion of the main panel RF1. A flange portion RF12 is formed at the lower end of the step portion RF11. The step portion RF11 and the flange portion RF12 are extended in the vehicle front-rear direction. The step portion RF11 and the flange portion RF12 are formed by bending the right end portion of the main panel RF1. A stepped portion RF21 and a flange portion RF22 similar to the stepped portion RF11 and the flange portion RF12 are formed at the left end portion of the side panel RF2. By welding in a state where the flange portion RF12 and the flange portion RF22 are overlapped, a groove portion D extending in the vehicle front-rear direction and opened upward is formed on the upper surface of the roof RF. The roof rail RR is attached to the groove D. A through hole HF into which a fixing member 10 for fixing the roof rail RR is inserted into the front end portion, the center portion, and the rear end portion of the bottom portion of the groove portion D (that is, the portion where the flange portion RF12 and the flange portion RF22 are overlapped). Is formed.

Next, the configuration of the roof rail RR will be described. As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, the roof rail RR has a main body portion C formed in a cylindrical shape extending in the vehicle front-rear direction. That is, the main body C has an upper wall C1 and a lower wall C2 that are formed substantially parallel to the roof upper surface. A side wall portion C3 is formed between the right end portion of the upper wall portion C1 and the right end portion of the lower wall portion C2, and a side wall portion C4 is formed between the left end portion of the upper wall portion C1 and the left end portion of the lower wall portion C2. Is formed. A through hole HR that penetrates in the vehicle height direction is formed in the front end portion, the center portion, and the rear end portion of the lower wall portion C2. In these through holes HR, blind nuts BN similar to those of the conventional roof rail are inserted. A rail portion C5 extending in the vehicle front-rear direction is formed on the lower surface of the right end portion of the lower wall portion C2. Further, a protrusion C6 extending in the vehicle front-rear direction is formed on the lower surface of the left end portion of the lower wall portion C2. The main body C is formed by bending an intermediate molded body formed by extruding a metal material (for example, aluminum material) along the upper surface of the roof RF. Terminal members (not shown) are attached to the front end and the rear end of the main body C. The cross-sectional shape of the main body C is not limited to this embodiment, and may be any shape such as a triangle or a circle.

A lip member L1 and a lip member L2, which are made of synthetic rubber, a soft synthetic resin material, or the like and extend in the vehicle front-rear direction, are respectively bonded to the rail portion C5 and the ridge portion C6.

Next, the configuration of the fixing member 10 that fixes the roof rail RR to the groove portion D will be described. The fixing member 10 includes a support portion 11, an upper screw portion 12, and a lower screw portion 13 (see FIG. 2). The support portion 11 is formed in a columnar shape extending in a direction perpendicular to the lower wall portion C2 of the roof rail RR. An annular groove portion 11a and groove portion 11b (concave portion) are formed on the upper surface and the lower surface of the support portion 11, respectively (see FIG. 3). The central axis of the groove part 11a and the groove part 11b and the central axis of the support part 11 correspond. The upper screw portion 12 is a male screw in which a screw groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion extending upward from the upper surface of the support portion 11. The central axis of the upper screw part 12 and the central axis of the support part 11 coincide. The outer diameter of the upper screw portion 12 matches the inner diameter of the groove portion 11a. The lower screw portion 13 is a male screw in which a screw groove is formed on the outer peripheral surface of a cylindrical portion extending downward from the lower surface of the support portion 11. The central axis of the lower screw part 13 and the central axis of the support part 11 are coincident. The outer diameter of the lower screw portion 13 matches the inner diameter of the groove portion 11b. Further, a hexagonal hole is formed in the center portion of the lower surface of the lower screw portion 13.

Next, a procedure for attaching the roof rail RR will be described. First, the tip of a hexagon wrench is inserted into a hexagon hole formed in the lower surface of the lower screw portion 13 of the fixing member 10, the hexagon wrench is rotated around the central axis of the fixing member 10, and the blind nut of the roof rail RR is inserted. The upper screw part 12 of the fixing member 10 is fastened to BN. The flange portion BN1 of the blind nut BN is accommodated in the groove portion 11a. A portion of the upper surface of the support portion 11 located outside the groove portion 11a (that is, an outer peripheral edge portion of the upper surface of the support portion 11) contacts the lower surface of the lower wall portion C2 of the roof rail RR.

Next, the lower screw portion 13 of the fixing member 10 is inserted into the annular seal member SL, and the lower screw portion 13 is inserted into the through hole HF formed in the groove portion D. The seal member SL is made of synthetic rubber. Then, the nut NT is fastened to the lower screw portion 13 from below the groove portion D. A portion of the lower surface of the support portion 11 located outside the groove portion 11b (that is, an outer peripheral edge portion of the lower surface of the support portion 11) contacts the upper surface of the bottom portion of the groove portion D. Further, the seal member SL is accommodated in the groove 11b and abuts on the groove 11b and abuts on the upper surface of the bottom of the groove D and is slightly compressed. That is, the seal member SL is in close contact with the upper surfaces of the bottoms of the groove 11b and the groove D (see FIG. 4). The lip member L1 and the lip member L2 are in contact with the upper end portions of the groove portion D (the upper end portions of the step portions RF11 and RF21), respectively.

According to the mounting structure of the roof rail RR described above, the support portion 11 functions as a conventional leg. Therefore, the number of parts can be reduced as compared with the prior art. Further, the water flowing into the roof rail RR flows downward along the upper screw portion 12 and further flows downward along the outer peripheral surface of the support portion 11. As described above, the outer peripheral edge portion of the lower surface of the support portion 11 is in contact with the upper surface of the groove portion D, but water can flow into a slight gap in the contact portion. However, the root portion of the lower screw portion 13 is sealed by the seal member SL by the seal member SL inserted in the groove portion 11b provided on the inner peripheral side of the contact portion. Thereby, it can suppress that the water which flowed into the said contact part flows in into roof RF (vehicle interior side) through the through-hole HF. In addition, when the lip member L1 and the lip member L2 are in contact with the upper end portion of the groove portion D, the water adhering to the upper surface of the roof RF is suppressed from flowing into the groove portion D. Even if water flows into the groove portion D from the slight gap between the lip member L1 and the lip member L2 and the groove portion D, the water penetrates because the root portion of the lower screw portion 13 is sealed. It is possible to suppress the flow into the roof RF (vehicle interior side) through the hole HF.

Furthermore, in carrying out the present invention, the present invention is not limited to the above embodiment, and various modifications can be made without departing from the object of the present invention.

For example, as illustrated in FIG. 5, the seal member SL may be attached to the outer peripheral edge portion of the lower end portion of the support portion 11. In this case, the inner peripheral edge portion (that is, the base peripheral edge portion of the lower screw portion 13) on the lower surface of the support portion 11 contacts the upper surface of the bottom portion of the groove portion D. Also by this, the same effect as the above embodiment can be obtained. Moreover, the contact part of the lower surface of the support part 11 and the upper surface of the bottom part of the groove part D may rub by the vibration at the time of driving | running | working of a vehicle, and the coating applied to both components may peel off. When water droplets adhere to the contact portion, rust may be generated. However, in the example shown in the figure, since the seal member is disposed on the outer peripheral side with respect to the contact portion, it is possible to suppress water from flowing in from the outer side of the support portion 11 toward the inner peripheral side. Therefore, it can suppress that rust generate | occur | produces in a contact part.

Moreover, in the said embodiment, the support part 11 is formed in the column shape. However, the shape of the support part 11 is not restricted to the said embodiment. For example, the support portion 11 may be formed in a hexagonal column shape, an octagonal column shape, or the like.
