Abstract
Description
本出願は、2012年8月28日に出願された米国仮特許出願第61/693,798号の利益を主張するものである。
第1の層は、ポリエステルおよび/またはポリ乳酸を含む第1の組成物から形成され、
第2の層は、少なくとも
A)官能化エチレン系ポリマーと、
B)少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーと、を含む、第2の組成物から形成される、皮膜を提供する。
第1の層は、ポリエステルおよび/またはポリ乳酸を含む第1の組成物から形成され、
第2の層は、少なくとも
A)官能化エチレン系ポリマーと、
B)少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーと、を含む、第2の組成物から形成される、皮膜を提供する。
エチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーは、エチレンを1つ以上、好適には1つの、C3−C10アルキルアクリレートでポリマー化することによって形成されるポリマーを含むがこれに限らない。例示的なアルキルとしては、メチル、エチル、プロピル、ブチル、ヘキシル、ヘプチル、およびオクチルが挙げられるがこれに限らない。好適には、α−オレフィンは、メチル、エチル、プロピル、およびブチル、さらにはメチル、エチル、プロピル、さらにはメチル、エチル、さらにはエチルである。好ましいコポリマーは、エチレン/メチルアクリレートコポリマー、エチレン/エチルアクリレートコポリマー、エチレン/−プロピルアクリレートコポリマー、およびエチレン/ブチルアクリレートコポリマーを含む。さらなる実施形態において、エチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーはエチレン/エチルアクリレートコポリマーである。
用語「官能化エチレン系ポリマー」は、本明細書において使用される場合、共有結合によって結び付けられ、その基が少なくとも1つのヘテロ原子を含む、少なくとも1つの化学基(化学置換基)を含む、エチレン系ポリマーを意味する。ヘテロ原子は、炭素または水素ではない原子として定義される。一般的なヘテロ原子は、酸素、窒素、硫黄、リンを含むがこれに限らない。
一実施形態において、ポリマー組成物(例えば、第1の組成物および/または第2の組成物)は、少なくとも1つの添加物を含む。適切な添加物は、酸化防止剤、紫外線安定剤、発泡剤、難燃剤、着色剤または顔料、およびこれらの組み合わせを含むがこれに限らない。
本発明はまた、本発明に係る皮膜から形成される少なくとも1つの構成要素を含む物品を提供する。物品は、共押出皮膜およびシート、包装用皮膜、熱成形されたトレー、シュリンク袋および蓋皮膜、ならびに積層皮膜を含むがこれに限らない。
それとは反対に言明される、文脈から黙示的である、または当技術分野で慣習的である場合を除いて、全ての部分およびパーセントは重量に基づき、全ての試験方法は本開示の出願日において最新である。
無水マレイン酸(MAH)含有量の決定−官能化エチレン系ポリマーおよび第2の組成物
校正:無水マレイン酸含有量を以下の通り測定する。乾燥樹脂試料(1〜2グラム、官能化ポリマー、またはMAH官能化エチレン系ポリマーおよびエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマー(概してppm量のもう1つの安定剤を用いて安定させた組成物)を含有する組成物)を、撹拌された加熱板の上で試料を撹拌しながら100℃に加熱することによって150mlのキシレンに溶解する。溶解したら、試料を熱いうちに「1:1のトルエン/メタノール中0.025Nの水酸化テトラブチルアンモニウム(TBAOH)」で、10滴のブロモチモールブルーを指示薬として使用して滴定する。溶液が青くなるときに終点を記録する。
溶融指数(I2)をASTM D−1238(190℃、2.16kg)に従って測定した。結果をグラム/10分単位で報告した。溶融流れ速度(MFR)をASTM D−1238(230℃、2.16kg)に従って測定した。結果をグラム/10分単位で報告した。
密度をASTM D−792に従って測定する。
従来のGPC測定法を、ポリマーの重量平均分子量(Mw)および数平均分子量(Mn)を決定するため、およびMWD(=Mw/Mn)を決定するために使用する。「試料を高温GPC計器(Polymer Laboratories,Inc.モデルPL220)を用いて分析する。
Mポリエチレン=a*(Mポリスチレン)b
この式中、a=0.4316であり、b=1.0である(Williams and Ward,J.Polym.Sc.,Polym.Let.,6,621(1968)に説明される通り)。VISCOTEK TriSECソフトウェアのバージョン3.0を使用して、ポリエチレン等価分子量の算出を実行した。
示差走査熱量測定(DSC)はポリマー(例えば、エチレン系(PE)ポリマー)内の結晶化度を測定するために使用される。約5〜8mgのポリマー試料を秤量しDSCパン内に配置する。蓋をパンに圧着し、密閉された空気を確保する。試料パンをDSCセル内に配置し、次に、およそ10℃/分の速度で、PEに対しては180℃(PPに対しては230℃)の温度まで加熱する。試料をこの温度に3分間保つ。次に、10℃/分の速度で、PEに対しては−60℃(PPに対しては−40℃)まで試料を冷却し、その温度で3分間等温的に保つ。試料を次に10℃/分の速度で完全に溶融するまで加熱する(第2の加熱)。結晶化度パーセントは、第2の加熱曲線から決定される融解熱(Hf)を、PEに対しては292J/g(PPに対しては165J/g)の理論的融解熱で除算し、この数量に100を乗算することによって算出される(例えば、結晶化度%=(Hf/292J/g)×100(PEに対して))。
研究A
この研究で使用されるポリマーを以下の表1および2に示す。ポリマーは概して1つ以上の安定剤で安定化される。
表2に明記した材料を使用し、表3に示す処方に従って、BUSSニーダー上で結合層組成物を化合した。全ての成分を190℃で2分間混合した。結合層AおよびBは、PET含有皮膜内の結合層樹脂として使用されることが知られる商業的な樹脂であった。結合層AはMitsui製のADMER SF 730Eであり、結合層BはDuPont製のBYNEL 21E787である。
以下の表6および7に提供する層分布を用いて、「7−Layer Dr.Collin Line」上で7層皮膜を共押出した。押出条件は以下の通りであった:
BUR:2.5、
折径:235.6mm、
総膜厚100ミクロン、
押出機I:250〜260℃、23RPM、
押出機II:230℃、18RPM、
押出機III:230℃、65RPM、
押出機IV:230℃、20RPM、
押出機V:250℃、81RPM、
押出機VI:230℃、20RPM、および
押出機VII:220℃、60RPM。
表5および6に示す構成に従って生産した皮膜(100ミクロン)を、A4のシート(21cm×29.7cm)に切り分けた。より長い辺(29.7cm)は機械の方向に沿っている。層VIIが層VIIと接触するように、説明したA4のシートを中心線に沿って折り畳んだ。折り畳んだ皮膜試料の中間部分は、封止機KOPP SGPE 20の封止剤であり、これは以下の特性を有する:封止棒幅5mmおよび封止棒長さ200mmの両方、Teflonコーティング、上部および下部封止棒は130℃に加熱される、封止方向=幅方向。図1を参照されたい。
この研究で使用されるポリマーを表10および11に示す。ポリマーは概して1つ以上の安定剤で安定化される。
表11に明記した材料を使用し、表12に示す処方に従って、BUSSニーダー上で結合層組成物を化合した。全ての成分を190℃で2分間混合した。結合層AおよびBは、商業的な樹脂であった。結合層AはMitsui製のADMER SF 730Eであり、結合層BはDuPont製のBYNEL 21E787である。
結合層(層B)および封止層(層A)の2つの層を、配向ポリエステル膜(OPET)(Flexfilm製のFLEXPET F−PAP、厚さ36ミクロン)上に共押出コーティングした。表13を参照されたい。押出コーティング設定のための温度設定:
押出機A:3.5インチ×32D押出機−汎用ねじ、
押出機B:2.5インチ×28D押出機−汎用ねじ、
溶融物を320℃の温度にするように両方の押出機の温度プロファイルを設定し、
アダプタ/パイプを320℃まで加熱し、
供給ブロックを320℃まで加熱した。
幅全体にわたり、両面320℃までフラットダイを加熱し、
冷却ロール温度は20℃であり、
回転速度は100m/分であった。
次いで、コーティングされたOPETを、引張機内に固定するのに十分に長い、15mm幅の切片に切り分け、これは35mmのグリップ距離を有した。OPETからコーティング(「層Aおよび層B」コーティング)を注意深く剥がすことによって、剥離を開始した。コーティングを上部の引張機クランプ上に、そしてOPETを第2の引張機クランプ内に固定した。Lloyd LR 5K引張試験機を使用し、125mm/分の速度で、50Nのロードセルを用いて、コーティングをOPETから引き剥がした。接着力結果を表14に示す。
Claims (15)
- 第1の層および第2の層の少なくとも2つの層を含む皮膜であって、
前記第1の層は、ポリエステルおよび/またはポリ乳酸を含む第1の組成物から形成され、
前記第2の層は、少なくとも以下:
A)官能化エチレン系ポリマーと、
B)少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーと、を含む、第2の組成物から形成される、皮膜。 - 前記第1の層は前記第2の層と接触している、請求項1に記載の皮膜。
- 前記第2の組成物が、成分Aおよび成分Bの合計重量に基づき、50重量パーセント以下の成分Aの前記官能化エチレン系ポリマーを含む、請求項1または請求項2に記載の皮膜。
- 前記第2の組成物が、成分Aおよび成分Bの合計重量に基づき、40重量パーセント以上の成分Bの前記少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーを含む、請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Bの前記少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーが、0.910〜0.940g/ccの密度を有する、請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Bの前記少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマーが、0.1〜50g/10分の溶融指数(I2)を有する、請求項1〜5のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Bの前記少なくとも1つのエチレン/アルキルアクリレートコポリマー(第2の組成物)が、DSCによって決定される93℃以上の溶融点(Tm)を有する、請求項1〜6のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Aの前記官能化エチレン系ポリマーが、官能化エチレンホモポリマーまたは官能化エチレン/アルファオレフィンインターポリマーから選択される、請求項1〜7のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Aの前記官能化エチレン系ポリマーが、MAHグラフト化エチレン系ポリマーである、請求項1〜8のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 前記MAHグラフトレベルが、前記第2の組成物の重量に基づき、0.05〜1.20重量パーセントである、請求項9に記載の皮膜。
- 前記第2の組成物が、前記第2の組成物の重量に基づき、90重量パーセント以上の前記「成分AおよびBの合計重量」を含む、請求項1〜10のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 成分Bの成分Aに対する重量比が、90:10〜40:60である、請求項1〜11のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 前記ポリエステルまたはポリ乳酸が、200℃を上回る溶融点(Tm)を有する、請求項1〜12のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 前記第2の組成物が、線状低密度ポリエチレン(LDPE)および/またはエチレン/α−オレフィンマルチブロックインターポリマーをさらに含む、請求項1〜13のいずれかに記載の皮膜。
- 請求項1〜14のいずれかに記載の皮膜を含む物品。
