Abstract
Description
本出願は、2012年6月27日に出願された米国仮出願番号61/664,779の恩恵を主張する。
導電性コアと、
前記導電性コアを少なくとも部分的に取り囲むポリマーコーティングと、
を備え、前記ポリマーコーティングはα−オレフィン系ポリマー及びα−オレフィンブロック複合体を含む被覆された導体である。
はじめに、ポリマーコーティングはα−オレフィン系ポリマーを含む。本明細書で用いられる用語「α−オレフィン系ポリマー」は、重合性モノマーの全重量を基準にして重合化したα−オレフィンモノマーの過半数の重量パーセント(「wt%」)を含むポリマーを意味する、及び場合によっては、少なくとも1つの重合化したコモノマーを含むことができる。コモノマーは、他のα−オレフィンモノマー、又は非α−オレフィンモノマーであることができる。α−オレフィン系ポリマーはα−オレフィン系ポリマーの全重量に対して、α−オレフィンモノマーから派生した50より多く、少なくとも60、少なくとも70、少なくとも80、又は少なくとも90wt%単位を含むことができる。α−オレフィン系ポリマーはチーグラーナッタ触媒ポリマー、メタロセン触媒ポリマー、及び/又は拘束幾何触媒の触媒ポリマーあることができる。さらに、α−オレフィン系ポリマーは、気相、溶液又はスラリーポリマー製造プロセスを用いて作製することができる。
各種実施形態において、α−オレフィン系ポリマーは高密度ポリエチレンである。用語「高密度ポリエチレン」(「HDPE」)は0.941g/cm3以上の密度を有するエチレン系ポリマーを意味する。実施形態ではHDPEはASTM D−792に従って決定される0.945から0.97g/cm3の密度を有する。HDPEは少なくとも130℃又は132℃から134℃までのピーク融解温度を有することができる。HDPEは、ASTM D−1238(190℃/2.16kg)に従って決定される0.1g/10分、又は0.2g/10分、又は0.3g/10分、又は0.4g/10分から5.0g/10分、又は4.0g/10分、又は3.0g/10分、又は2.0g/10分、又は1.0g/10分、又は0.5g/10分までのI2を有している。HDPEは、ゲル浸透クロマトグラフ法で決定される、1.0から30.0の範囲の、又は2.0から15.0の範囲のPDIも有することができる。
各種実施形態では、上記のα−オレフィン系ポリマー及びブロック複合体は、ワイヤ及び/又はケーブルのポリマーコーティング(例えば、絶縁体及び/又はジャケット)を作製するために混合されてもよい。α−オレフィン系ポリマーは、α−オレフィン系ポリマー及びブロック複合体の合計重量に基づいて、少なくとも10wt%、少なくとも20wt%、少なくとも30wt%、又は少なくとも40wt%、90wt%まで、80wt%、70wt%、又は60wt%までの量で混合物中に存在することができる。ブロック複合体は、α−オレフィン系ポリマー及びブロック複合体の合計重量に基づいて、少なくとも10wt%、少なくとも20wt%、少なくとも30wt%、又は少なくとも40wt%、90wt%まで、80wt%、70wt%、又は60wt%までの量で混合物中に存在することができる。
種々の実施形態では、導体及び絶縁層を含むケーブルは、上述したポリマーコーティング混合物を用いて調製することができる。ポリマーコーティング混合物を含む絶縁層を含むケーブルは様々なタイプ押出機(例えば、シングル又はツインスクリュータイプ)を用いて調製することができる。従来の押出機の説明は、米国特許第4,857,600号に記載されている。あるいは共押出及び押出機の例は、米国特許第5,575,965号に記載されている。
「ワイヤ」は、導電性金属の一本の素線、例えば、銅、アルミニウム、又は光ファイバの一本の素線を意味する。
密度
密度は、ASTM D1928に従って調製されたサンプルに対して、ASTM D792、方法Bに従って決定される。密度測定は、試料プレスの1時間以内に行われる。
融解インデックス(I2)は、ASTM D1238、条件190℃/2.16kgに従って測定され、10分ごとに溶出したグラム単位で報告される。I10は、ASTM D1238、条件190℃/10.16kgに従って測定され、10分ごとに溶出したグラム単位で報告される。
直径2インチ×40milsの円板を、円板の位置を保持するためにクランプを使用してNaCl溶液(以下に説明するように0.01、1.0、又は3.5のいずれか)を含むU字管装置に挿入する(図4参照)。6kVの交流(「AC」)電源に試料円板を接続する。この条件の下で21日間(504時間)試料円板をエージングする。
絶縁破壊強度は、ASTM D149−09に従って決定される。
以下の実施例で用いられる材料は以下のとおりである。ダウ・ケミカル・カンパニーから市販されている低密度ポリエチレン(「LDPE」)DXM−446であり、密度0.92g/cm3、融点108℃、及び約2.1の融解インデックス(I2)を有している。ブロック複合体1はアイソタクチックポリプロピレン/エチレン−プロピレン組成である(「iPP−EP」)(40/60 w/w エチレン−プロピレン/アイソタクチックポリプロピレン;65wt%のエチレン含有エチレン−プロピレンブロック)。ブロック複合体2はアイソタクチックポリプロピレン/エチレン−プロピレン組成である(「iPP−EP」)(20/80w/wエチレン−プロピレン/アイソタクチックポリプロピレン;65wt%のエチレン含有エチレン−プロピレンブロック)。
米国特許第5,919,983号、実施例2に実質的に開示されているように、触媒−1([[レル−2’、2’’’−[(1R、2R)−1、2−シクロヘキサンジイルビス(メチレンオキシ−κO)]ビス[3−(9H−カルバゾール−9−イル)−5−メチル[1、1’−ビフェニル]−2−オラト−κO]](2−)]ジメチル−ハフニウム)、及び共触媒−1である(テトラキス(ペンタフルオロフェニル)ホウ酸塩のメチルジ(C14−18アルキル)アンモニウム塩の混合物は、長鎖三アルキルアミン(Armeen(商標)M2HT、アクゾ・ノーベル社から入手可能)、HCl及びLi[B(C6F5)4]との反応によって調製され、ボウルダー・サイエンティフィック社から購入され、さらなる精製なしに使用される。
以下では、HFDB−4202は、ダウ・ケミカル・カンパニーから市販されている水トリー抑制添加成分を含む水トリー抑制架橋ポリエチレン(「TR−XLPE」)である。
以下の組成を有する試料を用意する:
上述した手順に従って、実施例2で調製した各試料の密度を決定する。結果は下の表6に示される。
実施例2で準備された比較試料5及び試料7−10の損失弾性率(G’’)及び弾性率(G’)を決定する。動的レオメータ(TAインスツルメント)で溶融物のレオロジー特性を測定する。140℃で0.01から10S−1の周波数範囲で2パーセントの歪を加える。

- 導電性コアと、

前記ポリマーコーティングはα−オレフィン系ポリマー及びα−オレフィンブロック複合体を含む、被覆された導体。 - 前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体はハードポリプロピレンセグメント及びソフトエチエレン−プロピレンセグメントを有するジブロックコポリマーを含む請求項1記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記ポリプロピレンセグメントは高アイソタクチックである請求項2記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体は、前記ポリプロピレンセグメント及び前記エチレン−プロピレンセグメントの合計重量に対して、10から90重量%の範囲の前記ポリプロピレンセグメントを含み、前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体は、前記ポリプロピレンセグメント及び前記エチレン−プロピレンセグメントの合計重量に対して、10から90重量%の範囲の前記エチレン−プロピレンセグメントを含む請求項2記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記エチレン−プロピレンセグメントは、前記エチレン−プロピレンセグメント全重量に対して35から70重量%のエチレンを含む請求項2記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体は、少なくとも0.10のブロック複合体指数を有する前記請求項のいずれかに記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記α−オレフィン系ポリマーは、低密度のポリエチレンである、前記請求項のいずれかに記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記α−オレフィン系ポリマーは、前記α−オレフィン系ポリマー及び前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体の合計重量に対して30から70重量%の範囲で前記ポリマーコーティング中に存在し、前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体は、前記α−オレフィン系ポリマー及び前記α−オレフィンブロック複合体の合計重量に対して30から70重量%の範囲で前記ポリマーコーティング中に存在する前記請求項のいずれかに記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記ポリマーコーティングは、ASTM D149−09による厚み40milsの試料を3.5Mの塩化ナトリウム水溶液中で21日間の湿式エージングで決定された、少なくとも70%の絶縁破壊保持率を有する前記請求項のいずれかに記載の被覆された導体。
- 前記ポリマーコーティングは、ポリエチレングリコールを実質的に含まない、前記請求項のいずれかに記載の被覆された導体。
