Description

The present invention relates to a holder for a curved display panel in a video display device.

In order to increase the screen size of a video display device using a display panel, the display panel itself can be increased in size, or a plurality of display panels can be connected to be multi-connected. Further, in order to improve the transportability of the video display device, the display panel has been reduced in weight and thickness, and the display panel has a structure that is weak against mechanical stress. Therefore, a holding structure that does not apply stress to the display panel is required.

In this regard, in Patent Document 1, in order to provide a holding structure that does not apply stress to the panel, the chassis that holds the panel reinforces the chassis member having a bent portion whose section is bent in an L shape. A structure in which a box-shaped space is formed by fixing one side of the reinforcing member to the bent portion of the chassis member and fixing the other side to the chassis member other than the bent portion. It is disclosed.

In recent video display devices, a curved display panel having a curved display surface may be used depending on design requirements. Therefore, there is a demand for a holding structure that suitably holds the curved display panel without applying stress to the curved display panel. The holding structure of Patent Document 1 is based on the assumption that the display panel is planar, and is not particularly considered to be applied to a curved panel. If the holding structure disclosed in Patent Document 1 is to be applied to a curved display panel, the chassis member and the reinforcing member must be processed so as to have a curved shape equivalent to the curved shape of the panel. Is required.

Furthermore, when mounting the electrical parts and structural members constituting the video display device, the mounting surfaces of these parts have a curved surface having the same shape as the panel curved surface, or the chassis member and the reinforcing member and the electrical parts and the structural member. A new connecting part is required between the two. In addition, when the holding structure is applied to a multi-panel curved display panel, the panels may collide with each other or with structural members constituting the display device when the panels are assembled and attached, and the panel may be damaged.

An object of the present invention is to realize a holder for a curved display panel with a simple component configuration, and to easily attach an electrical component or the like having no curved surface. Furthermore, in the case of a multi-panel system, it is to prevent collision between panels or a structural member at the time of panel attachment.

The present invention is a display panel holder for holding a curved display panel, and is a thin plate-like fixing member for attaching and fixing the display panel, and a reinforcement for joining the fixing member on the opposite side of the surface to which the display panel is attached. The surface of the reinforcing member is fixed to the shape of the curved surface of the display panel. Here, the fixing member is formed by pressing a substantially flat thin plate against the entire joining surface of the reinforcing member. Moreover, the surface on the opposite side to the joint surface of a reinforcement member is comprised with a plane part. The reinforcing member is a plurality of strip-shaped reinforcing pieces and is attached to the fixing member in a direction along the curved surface of the display panel.

According to the present invention, a holder for a curved display panel can be realized with a simple component configuration, and an electrical component or the like having no curved surface can be easily attached. At this time, it is possible to prevent panel breakage without applying mechanical stress to the display panel and in assembling the display panel.

Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings.

1A and 1B are perspective views illustrating a holder structure according to a first embodiment, where FIG. 1A is a front side (panel mounting side) perspective view, and FIG. 1B is a rear side perspective view. The holder 10 according to the present embodiment includes a display panel fixing member 1 (hereinafter referred to as a fixing member) and a reinforcing member 2.

The fixing member 1 is a thin plate that is easily bent and has a predetermined strength. For example, a resin plate (thickness of about 2 mm) such as acrylic or polycarbonate is suitable. Alternatively, for example, a metal plate (thickness of about 1 mm) such as aluminum may be used. A curved display panel 20 is attached to the panel attachment surface 1 a on the front side of the fixing member 1. The reinforcing member 2 is joined to the back side of the fixing member 1 to reinforce the strength of the thin fixing member 1. The reinforcing member 2 includes a plurality of bow-shaped reinforcing pieces, and the number of reinforcing pieces is determined according to the area and strength of the display panel 20. The material of the reinforcing member 2 is preferably a hard plastic or a metal material such as aluminum, but is preferably integrally molded. The panel mounting surface 1 a of the fixing member 1 has a curved shape similar to the shape of the display panel 20. In the holder 10 of this example, the fixing member 1 (panel mounting surface 1a) is curved in the X direction and linear in the Y direction. The reinforcing member 2 has a plurality of reinforcing pieces extending in a curved shape in the X direction.

2A to 2C are views showing disassembly / assembly of the display panel and the holder, FIG. 2A is an exploded perspective view, FIG. 2B is an exploded top view, and FIG. 2C is an assembled top view.

2A and 2B show a state before the display panel 20 is attached to the holder 10, and the fixing member 1 has a substantially planar shape. On the other hand, a joint surface 2 a (indicated by a hatched portion) that joins the fixing member 1 of the reinforcing member 2 has a curved shape (bow shape) having the same curvature as that of the display panel 20. The back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2 is composed of a plurality of flat portions (straight line portions, indicated by arrows).

First, in order to assemble the holder 10, the fixing member 1 is pressed against the entire joining surface 2 a of the reinforcing member 2 in the Z direction, and both are joined with an adhesive. At this time, the thin fixing member 1 can be easily deformed into a curved surface and joined as shown by a broken line 1 ′ in accordance with the shape of the joining surface 2 a of the reinforcing member 2. Therefore, it is not necessary to process the fixing member 1 in the same curved shape as the display panel 20 in advance.

After the fixing member 1 and the reinforcing member 2 are joined to form the holder 10, the display panel 20 is bonded to the panel mounting surface 1a of the fixing member 1 as shown in FIG. 2C. For this bonding, an adhesive or a double-sided tape is used. Since the panel mounting surface 1a has already been deformed into a curved surface, the display panel 20 can be mounted without applying mechanical stress.

As a result, the holder 10 for the curved display panel 20 can be realized with a simple component configuration of a thin plate-shaped fixing member and a curved reinforcing member, and mechanical stress applied to the display panel 20 can be minimized. . In particular, since a desired curved surface shape can be formed simply by pressing a thin plate-like fixing member against the joint surface of the reinforcing member, there is an advantage that processing that requires accuracy for the fixing member is not required.

In this example, the reinforcing member 2 is a strip-shaped reinforcing piece, and is joined to the fixing member 1 in parallel with the direction along the curved surface of the display panel 20 (X direction). The reason is that when the curved shape of the display panel 20 is curved in the X direction and linear in the Y direction, the bending rigidity in the X direction is lower than the bending rigidity in the Y direction. Therefore, by reinforcing only the X direction with low bending rigidity, the number of reinforcing members can be reduced and the weight can be reduced.

In addition, the back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2 is concave, and the reinforcing member 2 is reduced by being configured by a plurality of plane portions. Of course, you may comprise the back surface 2b by a single plane. The reinforcing member 2 is preferably integrally molded in consideration of strength, but may be divided into a plurality of pieces and joined for ease of processing. In any case, the back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2 has a flat surface portion, and by attaching electric parts and structural members necessary for driving the display panel 20 to the flat surface portion, a back space of the reinforcing member 2 is provided. Can be used effectively.

FIGS. 3A and 3B are perspective views showing an example in which the circuit board 30 is attached to the holder 10, wherein FIG. 3A is an overall view, and FIG. 3B is a partially enlarged view of the attachment portion.

As shown in (a), in this embodiment, the circuit board 30 used for driving the display panel 20 is directly attached to the flat portion of the back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2. In general, since the mounting surfaces of electrical parts and structural members used in the display device are flat, they cannot be mounted as they are when the mounting surface on the holder side is curved. Therefore, a mounting bracket or the like is required separately. However, in this embodiment, since the back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2 has a flat portion, it is possible to easily and stably attach an electrical component or a structural member without using a separate metal fitting or the like. A connecting portion 4 is provided at the end of the reinforcing member 2 in the X direction. The connecting portion 4 is a portion for connecting a plurality of adjacent holding tools, and details will be described later. Further, the mounting position and the number of the connecting portions 4 are appropriately set depending on the size of the display panel.

(B) shows a component structure when the circuit board 30 is attached to the reinforcing member 2. A screw hole 31 for fixing the circuit board 30 is formed on the back surface 2b of the reinforcing member 2, and the circuit board 30 is fixed to the reinforcing member 2 (back surface part 2b) using a small screw 33. When components are mounted on the back side of the circuit board 30, the circuit board 30 may be fixed to the reinforcing member 2 with the spacers 32 inserted into the screw holes 31.

As described above, according to this embodiment, since the flat portion is provided on the back surface of the reinforcing member, there is an advantage that the electric parts and the structural members necessary for the display device can be easily attached and fixed using the flat portion.

In Example 2, a holder structure suitable for a multi-panel display panel in which a plurality of display panels are arranged and connected will be described. In the multi-panel method, a plurality of holders are prepared corresponding to each display panel. In the multi-assembly procedure, the fixing member 1 and the reinforcing member 2 are joined to create a plurality of holders 10, and each display panel 20 is attached to each holder 10. Then, the display panel 20 to which the holder 10 is attached is arranged and assembled. In the present embodiment, a protrusion is provided in order to perform this assembling work efficiently.

4A and 4B are perspective views illustrating a holder structure according to the second embodiment, in which FIG. 4A is a front perspective view, FIG. 4B is a rear perspective view, and FIG. 4C is a partially enlarged view around the protrusion 3. is there.

L-shaped projections 3 are provided at the four corners of the fixing member 1. The protrusion 3 is attached so that the L-shaped piece protrudes from the back surface side (Z direction) of the fixing member 1 and protrudes from the end of the fixing member 1 by a predetermined width t in the X direction. A display panel 20 (not shown) is attached to each holder 10 and a plurality of display panels are arranged in a predetermined direction to realize a multi-panel.

In the conventional multi-assembly operation of the display panel, the display panel may collide with other panels and be damaged. In the present embodiment, the protrusions 3 are provided on the holder 10 so that the display panel 20 can be prevented from colliding with other attached display panels. Alternatively, it is possible to prevent the display panel 20 from colliding with an electrical component or a structural member provided on the back surface of the holder 10.

Further, by projecting the protruding portion 3 from the end portion of the fixing member 1 by the width t, a joint portion is generated at the boundary portion of the plurality of display panels 20. For this reason, in a multi-panel screen having a plurality of joints, the width of the joints can be determined by the protruding amount of the protrusions 3.

As described above, in the present embodiment, the configuration in which the protrusion 3 is provided on the holder 10 prevents the collision between the display panels and the collision between the display panel and the structural member in the multi-assembly operation of the display panel. Can be improved.

In Example 3, a holder structure suitable for connecting a plurality of display panels in the holder structure of Example 2 will be described.

FIG. 5 is a perspective view illustrating the structure of the protrusion of the holder according to the third embodiment. The L-shaped projection 3 ′ has a joint surface 3 a that joins the fixing member 1 and a vertical piece 3 b that is substantially perpendicular to the fixing member 1. A connecting hole 5 is provided in the vertical piece 3b and used to connect a plurality of display panels.

6A and 6B are cross-sectional views showing a state in which the display panels are connected using the protrusions 3 ′ shown in FIG. 5, wherein FIG. 6A is a partially enlarged view of the connecting portion, and FIG. 6B is an overall view.

As shown to (a), in the connection part 4 of the adjacent display panel 20 (or holder 10), it is 2 by using the volt | bolt 6 and the nut 7 with respect to the connection hole 5 of adjacent protrusion part 3 '. The positional relationship between the two display panels 20 can be fixed. In this figure, the joint portion generated at the boundary of the display panel 20 is omitted, but the joint portion may be formed if necessary.

FIG. 6B shows a configuration in which a plurality of display panels 20 are connected by a plurality of connecting portions 4. By using a plurality of the fixing member 1, the reinforcing member 2, and the connecting portion 4 of the present embodiment, a large screen curved display panel can be realized.

In this embodiment, the position of the adjacent display panel can be fixed by providing a connecting hole in the projection and connecting the hole with a bolt. Further, the connection hole serves as a guide for the display panel mounting position, and improves the assembly workability.

Example 4 is a modification of Example 3, and in the holder structure of Example 2, another holder structure suitable for connecting a plurality of display panels will be described.

FIG. 7 is a perspective view illustrating the structure of the protrusion of the holder according to the fourth embodiment. A connecting claw portion 8 and a receiving portion 9 are provided at the end portions 3c of the pair of protruding portions 3 ″ that are connected to each other. The connecting claw portion 8 and the receiving portion 9 are paired in shape. If the shape is unique to each protrusion, the combination of protrusions that can be connected can be uniquely determined.

8 is a cross-sectional view showing a state in which the display panel is connected using the protrusion 3 ″ of FIG. 7. In the assembly of the display panel, only the position where the claw portion 8 can be inserted with respect to the reference display panel is shown. Other panels are attached to each other, and the attachment position of each display panel can be easily determined.
