Claims (18)
- ノズルプレートであって、前記ノズルプレートの一部がノズルの輪郭を構成するノズルプレートと、
複数の細孔を含む熱刺激膜と、
前記ノズルから前記熱刺激膜に向かって延びて、ノズルと熱刺激膜の間に位置する液体チャンバの輪郭を構成するエンクロージャであって、前記液体チャンバは、各ノズル及び複数の細孔と流体連通すると共に、前記液体チャンバに、前記熱刺激膜の一部が被さる、エンクロージャと、
前記熱刺激膜を介して、圧力がかかった状態で液体を供給する供給源であって、前記圧力は、前記液体が前記熱刺激膜内を通って流れた後で、その液体の流れを前記ノズルから噴射する十分な圧力である、供給源と、
を含む噴射モジュール。 - 前記熱刺激膜は、前記液体が当該熱刺激膜を通って流れるときに、その液体に熱エネルギのパルスを与えるように構成された熱アクチュエータを含み、前記熱エネルギのパルスは、前記液体の流れを液滴の流れに分解するために提供される複数の熱エネルギパルスのうちの一つである、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱エネルギのパルスは、液体を蒸発させるには不十分である、請求項2に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記液体が前記熱刺激膜を通って流れるときに、前記熱刺激膜に電気エネルギのパルスを供給するように構成された電気エネルギ源を含む、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記圧力は、前記液体が前記熱刺激膜を通って流れるときに、その液体を複数の部分に分離させる十分な圧力であり、前記液体の各部分は、複数の細孔のうちの一つの細孔を通って流れ、前記熱刺激膜は、前記液体の各部分が、複数の細孔のうちの対応する一つの細孔を通って流れるときに、その部分の液体に熱エネルギのパルスを与えるように構成された熱アクチュエータを含む、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記圧力は、前記液体が前記熱刺激膜を通って流れるときに、前記液体を複数の部分に分離させる十分な圧力であり、前記液体の各部分は、前記複数の細孔のうちの一つを通って流れ、前記噴射モジュールは、前記液体の各部分が前記複数の細孔のうちの対応する細孔を取って流れるときに、前記熱刺激膜に電気エネルギのパルスを供給するように構成された電気エネルギ源を含む、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱刺激膜は、前記電気エネルギのパルスが当該熱刺激膜に供給されるときに、前記複数の細孔のうちの一つにそれぞれ接する各部分の液体の外周領域に対して対称に熱エネルギを与えるように構成される、請求項6に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔は、前記熱刺激膜の材料層内に設けられ、前記材料層は、前記熱刺激膜を通る前記液体のフロー方向を遮るように配置された平面を含む、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔は、前記熱刺激膜の材料層内に設けられ、前記材料層は、前記液体チャンバを跨いで位置する、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔のうちの少なくとも一つは、前記材料層を通る流体のフロー方向から見ると、前記液体チャンバに重畳している、請求項9に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔のうちの少なくとも一つは、前記ノズルを通る流体のフロー方向から見ると、前記ノズルに重畳している、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱刺激膜は、絶縁材料に包み込まれた抵抗材料を含み、前記複数の細孔は、前記複数の細孔のうちの各細孔の全ての側面に抵抗材料が位置するように、前記熱刺激膜内に配置される、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱刺激膜は、絶縁材料に包み込まれた抵抗材料を含み、前記複数の細孔は、前記複数の細孔のうちの各細孔の周りに抵抗材料が対称に位置するように、前記熱刺激膜内に配置される、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱刺激膜は、絶縁材料に包み込まれた抵抗材料を含み、前記複数の細孔は、各細孔の全ての側面ではないが、各細孔の一つ以上の側面に抵抗材料が位置するように、前記熱刺激膜内に配置される、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記熱刺激膜は、絶縁材料に包まれた抵抗材料を含み、前記複数の細孔のうちの少なくとも一つは、前記複数の細孔のうちの前記少なくとも一つの細孔のいずれの側面にも抵抗材料が存在しないように、前記熱刺激膜内に配置される、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記液体チャンバは、前記熱刺激膜及び前記ノズルに垂直な平面において見ると一つの断面を含み、前記断面は、前記ノズルにおいて、前記熱刺激膜における当該断面よりも小さくなる、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔は、一つより多くの細孔寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
- 前記複数の細孔のうちの少なくとも一つは、前記液体内の粒子状物質をフィルタリングするように選択された細孔寸法を有する、請求項1に記載の噴射モジュール。
