Description

The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for manufacturing a brush having a flocked portion and a handle portion like a toothbrush.

When planting bristles in the manufacture of a toothbrush, a method of fixing a bristles with a metal member after inserting the bristles into a bristles insertion hole has been widely performed. However, although this method can simply configure the apparatus, there are disadvantages such as the thickness of the tooth transplanted portion of the toothbrush cannot be reduced, and oblique hair transplantation is difficult. This tendency is particularly strong in a brush having a small flocked portion such as a toothbrush. On the other hand, there are the following three methods that do not use a metal member, and each method is selected according to the purpose.

(1)タイプI(例えば、特公平6-16725、USP4635313)
(1) Type I (for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 6-16725, USP4635313)
A method for integrally manufacturing a handle portion of a toothbrush by inserting a bristle bundle into a bristle bundle insertion hole of a molding die (cavity) having a bristle bundle insertion hole and filling a bristle bundle base with a plastic material . In this method, due to the configuration of the cavity, when the molding pressure is increased, the plastic material is likely to leak from the gap between the hair bundle insertion holes.

(2)タイプII(例えば、USP5458400、特開平9-182632)
(2) Type II (for example, USP5458400, JP-A-9-82632)
A method in which a hair bundle is implanted in a substrate having a number of hair bundle insertion holes formed in advance, the substrate in which the hair bundle is implanted is placed in a mold, and the opening of the substrate is filled with a plastic member. . In this method, although the number of steps for molding the substrate is increased, the hair bundle is implanted on the substrate to be filled with the plastic member, and the close contact portion between the substrate and the hair bundle is present. The filler leakage from between the substrate and the bristle bundle is less likely to occur as compared with Type I.

(3)タイプIII(例えば、特公平6-46962)
(3) Type III (for example, Japanese Patent Publication No. 6-46962)
A method in which both the hair bundle insertion hole portion and the hair bundle base portion of the substrate having the hair bundle insertion hole are brought into close contact after heating, and the hair bundle is caulked on the substrate. This method tends to cause variations in quality with respect to fixing the hair bundle.

These three methods are properly used depending on the purpose, but when oblique flocking or thick flocking is required, type I and type II are more advantageous, and type III tends to vary in flocking strength. Very rarely used from a point. Type I and type II are the same as the method of forming the brush handle portion and integrating the planting portion while holding the hair bundle, and both are insert molding methods. Therefore, the leakage of the plastic material from the gap between the hair bundle insertion holes remains as a common problem although Type II is less as described above.

For this problem, studies have been made to reduce the gap between the hair bundle insertion holes as much as possible. For example, JP-A-10-52316 discusses the following. That is, the hair bundle is introduced into the holding hole for inserting the hair bundle provided in the mold, and the protruding end of the hair bundle is formed into a fusion lump having a cross section larger than the cross section of the holding hole by a heating means, A thermoplastic synthetic resin molding material is introduced (injected) after the fusion mass is positioned in the cavity of the handle molding die. In Japanese Patent Laid-Open No. 10-52316, the resin flow characteristic value of the molten resin injected into the handle molding die is 17 to 40 g / 10 min and has a low fluidity.

As described above, if a resin with low fluidity is used, it is necessary to increase the molding pressure. However, if the molding pressure is increased, the hair bundle tends to be disturbed, and the resin from the hair bundle insertion hole is Leakage is also likely to occur. Therefore, the actual situation is that the resin used and molding conditions (particularly molding pressure) are limited.

USP5458400 and JP-A-9-82632 disclose a method of forming a protruding end of a hair bundle into a fused lump by a heating means in the type II manufacturing method. However, there is a problem that the hair bundle is liable to be damaged, such as twisting of hair bundles, disorder of hair rising, and deformation of the substrate due to heat from the heating means.

An object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing a brush in which a handle is filled after inserting the hair bundle, and the hair bundle is not twisted even when oblique hair transplantation or thick hair bundle implantation is performed. And a filling device for filling the filler with a filler.

In addition, the term “hole axis” of the hole axis of the hair bundle insertion hole of the present specification refers to the direction along the length direction of the hair when the hair bundle is held (inserted) in those holes. means. Further, the term “back surface of the substrate” refers to a surface on the opposite side of the substrate from which the bristle bundle protrudes when the substrate is a toothbrush product.

In the present specification, “adhesion” refers to a state in which each hair in one hair bundle is fused and then bonded, or a plurality of hair bundles are fused and bonded together. When the hair bundle is melted and fixed by melting or melting press in the present invention, the hair bundle and the substrate are not necessarily bonded. In some cases, the hair material and the substrate material may be bonded by heating means or melt pressing means, but in the case of nylon, which is a typical hair material, or polypropylene, which is the material of the substrate, there are more cases where they are not bonded. .

The configuration of the toothbrush manufacturing apparatus along with its operation is as follows.
(1) The substrate 11 of the toothbrush 10 is molded by the substrate molding die 20 (upper die 21 and lower die 22) of FIG. In the present embodiment, the substrate 11 is constituted by a head 14 that is integrally formed with the handle 12 via a neck 13. As shown in FIG. 2, the head 14 includes a back surface filling recess 16 surrounded by a rising wall 15 provided on the outer edge of the back surface, and the substrate surface of the planting portion 16 </ b> A defined within the back surface filling recess 16. A plurality of hair bundle insertion holes 17 are formed through the hair bundle insertion holes 17 so that the hair bundles 18 can be implanted in each of the hair bundle insertion holes 17.

Here, the substrate 11 is constituted by a head 14 integrally formed with the handle 12 (neck 13), and after the implantation process to the head 14 described later, the back surface filling material 19 is placed in the back surface filling recess 16 of the head 14. Next filling. Although the substrate may be composed of only the head 14, the substrate has a hair bundle insertion hole for planting the hair bundle. The material of the substrate is usually plastic, but materials other than plastic such as ceramic, wood, pulp laminate and metal can be used within the scope of the object of the present invention.

Since the substrate 11 is provided with the rising wall 15 continuous over the entire circumference of the outer edge of the head 14, the adhesion of the back surface filling material 19 to the back surface filling recess 16 is good, and the bending strength of the head 14 can be enhanced.

Further, by providing the rising wall 15 continuous on the entire circumference of the outer edge of the head 14 with the uneven shape 15A (FIG. 2D), the base end face of the hair bundle protruding from the hair bundle insertion hole 17 is heated. When the molten mass or the belt-shaped melt press surface that closes the bristle bundle insertion hole is formed on the back side of the substrate 1, the heating element does not contact the surface 15 B forming the outer edge shape of the head 14. The surface 15B forming the outer edge shape of the head 14 due to the heat body can be prevented, the surface area of the back surface filling recess 16 is increased, the adhesiveness of the back surface filling material 19 to the back surface filling recess 16 is good, and the head 14 is bent. Strength can be strengthened. Note that the uneven shape 15A may be provided at a part of the rising wall 15 continuous with the outer edge of the head 14 instead of the entire circumference.

The substrate 11 may be provided with the rising wall 15 only at a part of the outer edge of the head 14 or may not be provided with the rising wall 15 at all.

As the resin constituting the substrate 11, any of polypropylene, acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene copolymer, polycarbonate, polymethyl methacrylate, unsaturated polyester, etc. may be adopted, and the toothbrush 10 is necessary. It is only necessary to ensure properties such as strength and durability. As the bristle of the hair bundle 18, polyethylene, nylon (polyamide type), or the like can be used.

(2) The substrate 11 is installed on the hair bundle holding jig 30. As shown in FIG. 3, the hair bundle holding jig 30 includes a hair bundle shaping hole 32 that is connected to a hair bundle insertion hole 17 of the substrate 11 that is installed on the installation portion 31 and the substrate 11. The hair bundle holding jig 30 in FIG. 4 is divided into an upper divided body 30A and a lower divided body 30B by a line 30L, and has a structure in which the hair bundle can be fixed by sliding (sliding surface 30L). . With this structure, after inserting the hair bundle into the hair bundle insertion hole 30, it can be slid in the direction intersecting the hole axis of the hair bundle insertion hole 30 and fixed. As a result, during the melting or melt press treatment of the present invention, the movement of the hair bundle is suppressed, and the alignment of the end faces of the hair bundle is improved, which is preferable. The sliding mechanism of the upper divided body and the lower divided body for the hair bundle holding jig 30 may be divided into three or more. In the slide mechanism, the relative movement distance is about 0.1 mm to 1 mm, and the movement amount is selected depending on the state of hair bundle retention.

In the hair bundle holding jig 30, the bottom surface of the hair bundle shaping hole 32 is set in a shape to be applied to the distal end portion of the hair bundle 18. By making the tip shape of the extruding pin 51 described later substantially the same shape as the hole bottom shape of the hair bundle shaping hole 32 (a shape that fits together), the moldability of the tip portion of the hair bundle 18 can be improved.

(3) The bristle bundle 18 is picked by the sleeve 40 that houses the bristle bundle 18 (FIG. 3). Then, the hair bundle 18 housed in the sleeve 40 is pushed out by the push pin 51 by the hair bundle planting device 50, and the hair bundle 18 is used for the substrate 11 installed on the hair bundle holding jig 30. The hair bundle insertion hole 17 is implanted into the hair bundle shaping hole 32 of the hair bundle holding jig 30, and the base of the hair bundle 18 is implanted into the hair bundle insertion hole 17 of the substrate 11. Is pressed against the bottom surface of the hair bundle shaping hole 32 (FIG. 3).

(4) The base end face of the bristle bundle 18 protruding from the bristle bundle insertion hole 17 on the back side of the substrate 11, as shown in FIG. ) Is melt-pressed to form a belt-shaped (sheet-shaped) melt-pressed surface 18A (FIG. 5) that closes the hair bundle insertion hole 17 on the back side of the substrate 11. The melt-pressing surface 18A of the hair bundle 18 is not limited to the one in which adjacent ones are continuously formed in a band shape as described above, but may be one in a lump shape.

In order to suppress the twisting of the hair bundle and the occurrence of irregularity in the hair bundle end face melting press, it is preferable to improve the alignment of the end face that melts the plant hair bundle. In order to improve the alignment, the planted hair bundle is (a) sufficiently shaped at the tip of the hair bundle by the hair bundle shaping hole 32 of the hair bundle holding jig 30. (B) It is preferable to slide and fix the upper split body 30A and the lower split body 30B of the hair bundle holding jig 30.

In addition, after melt-pressing with the impulse welding machine 100 (FIG. 10), it further melt-presses by ultrasonic vibration using the ultrasonic welding machine 200 (FIG. 11), and the hair used by applying ultrasonic vibration from the beginning. By applying ultrasonic vibration without causing twisting of the bundle 18, the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 can be melted and fixed by frictional heat over a long length range of the hair bundle 18. The hair bundle 18 is pressed while being vibrated and firmly bonded so that both can be mechanically entangled, thereby enhancing the pull-out strength of the hair bundle 18.

When melt pressing is performed, the periphery of the rising wall 15 of the head 14 and the neck portion 13 are positioned and held by the shape holding jig 33, and then the base end face of the bristle bundle 18 is heated and melt pressed. Thereby, it is possible to prevent the periphery of the rising wall 15 of the head 14 and the neck portion 13 from being deformed by heating. Since the shape holding jig 33 is intended to protect a portion that is easily deformed by heating, it is not always necessary to cover the periphery of the rising wall 15 and the entire neck portion 13, and the material of the substrate 11 and the substrate 11 are configured. What is necessary is just to select the structure and material according to the thickness of each part to do. When the wall of the rising wall 15 is thin and easily deformed, a shape holding jig 33 having a structure covering the inner surface of the rising wall 15 on the back surface filling recess 16 side can also be used. In addition, when the amount of heat necessary for melting / pressing the hair bundle 18 and the substrate 11 is large and the heat amount or temperature of the heating element is high, the shape holding jig 33 of the head 14 is provided with a cooling mechanism such as water cooling or air cooling. By providing, the excessive temperature rise of the shape holding jig 33 of the head 14 can be prevented, and the periphery of the rising wall 15 of the head 14 and the neck portion 13 can be prevented from being deformed by heating. Moreover, the same effect can be acquired also by comprising the shape maintenance jig | tool 33 with a material with high heat insulation.

As shown in FIG. 10, the impulse welding machine 100 includes a press chip 101 that is supplied with power to an electric resistance heating element and instantaneously generates heat, and includes a cooling device 102 that rapidly cools the press chip 101, and drives the press chip 101. The apparatus 103 applies pressure to the back surface of the substrate 11 through the base end face of the bristle bundle 18. The impulse welding machine 100 generates the heat necessary for melting the base end face of the bristle bundle 18 in the press chip 101 during the melting press process of the base end face of the bristle bundle 18 as shown in FIG. , Time for transmitting to the base end face of the hair bundle 18 and melting), intermediate time (time for preventing excessive temperature rise due to primary heating, and transferring and melting the heat generated by the primary heating to the base end face of the hair bundle 18 ), Secondary heating time (the time required to melt and press the base end face of the substrate 11 and the bristle bundle 18 and melt and press it, and transfer to the base end face of the bristle bundle 18 for melting), melting Pressing time (preventing excessive temperature rise due to secondary heating, transferring heat generated by secondary heating to the base end face of the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18, melting the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18, Time), cooling time (by air The tip 101 is cooled, the time required for cooling and fixing the substrate 11 and the molten press surface 18A of the bristle bundle 18 is cooled, and the separation heating time (the bristle bundle 18 (molten press surface 18A)) and the press chip 101 are easily separated. Therefore, the hair bundle 18 (melting press surface 18A) and the press chip 101 are separated during this time), and the re-cooling time (the press chip 101 heated by detachment heating is cooled). Time). However, the process may be simplified or a process may be added according to the amount of heat necessary for melting and melt-pressing the hair bundle 18 and the substrate 11 and the state of resin adhesion to the press chip 101. The impulse welding machine 100 includes a convex portion 101A (or a concave portion) on a surface where the press chip 101 is in contact with the base end face of the bristle bundle 18 so that the mutual melted portion of the substrate 11 and the bristle bundle 18 is formed as the convex portion 101A Alternatively, it can be pushed in by a recess) to form an adhesive state so that both can be mechanically entangled.

If desired, the hair bundle end face pressing device 60 uses the ultrasonic welder 200 in combination with the impulse welder 100, and heats and melts the lower end face of the hair bundle 18 by the impulse welder 100. After the melt pressing, the base end surface of the bristle bundle 18 can be melt-pressed by ultrasonic vibration generated by the ultrasonic welder 200 to form the melt-pressed surface 18A.

As shown in FIG. 11, the ultrasonic welding machine 200 ultrasonically vibrates a press chip 202 (horn) coupled to an ultrasonic vibrator 201 while driving the press chip 202 with a drive unit 203 to the base of the hair bundle 18. Pressure is applied to the back surface of the substrate 11 through the end surface. The ultrasonic welding machine 200 oscillates the press chip 202 from the timing when the press chip 202 contacts the hair bundle 18 to the lower end in the lowering process from the origin position of the press chip 202 by the driving device 203, The melt press surface 18A formed on the base end surface of the bristle bundle 18 is cooled and held by holding the tip 202 at the descending end for a certain time (FIG. 11). Note that the press chip 202 may start to vibrate from the timing at which the press chip 202 is at the origin position before contacting the bristle bundle 18.

The ultrasonic welding machine 200 includes the convex portion 202A on the surface where the press chip 202 is in contact with the base end surface of the bristle bundle 18 so that the mutual melted portion of the substrate 11 and the bristle bundle 18 is pushed by the convex portion 202A. It is possible to form an adhesive state that can be found mechanically.

(5) The substrate 11 into which the hair bundle 18 is inserted and the hair bundle holding jig 30 are positioned on the mold 71 of the molding apparatus 70 (FIG. 6).

(6) The back filling material 19 discharged from the injection port 72 (gate) of the mold 71 of the molding apparatus 70 by the filling apparatus 80 is used on the back side of the back filling recess 16 of the substrate 11. The hair bundle 18 is fixed to the substrate 11 by being injected into and bonded to a space (space of the back surface filling recess 16) formed around the base portion (melt press surface 18A) of the hair bundle 18 (FIG. 7). After the filler 19 is solidified, the mold 71 is opened, the toothbrush 10 and the hair bundle holding jig 30 are taken out (FIG. 8), and the toothbrush 10 is removed from the hair bundle holding jig 30 (FIG. 9).

An injection molding machine 81 can be adopted as the filling device 80. The injection molding machine 81 in FIG. 7 has a vertical arrangement of injection cylinders and injection plungers, but may be a horizontal arrangement. The gate method of the inlet 72 of the molding apparatus 70 may be a cold runner method or a hot runner method.

The material used as the filler 19 may be the same material as the substrate 11 or a different material, and may be a hot melt adhesive or an elastomer.

In order to reinforce the adhesive force with the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18, the filler 19 is blended with a constituent material of the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 and an adhesive material by thermal adhesion or chemical adhesion, It is preferable to increase the thermal adhesiveness by heating 11 or the mold 71 at a high temperature, and to increase the melting temperature when the filler 19 itself is injected. Moreover, the one where the injection | pouring pressure of the filler 19 is made high strengthens the adhesive force with the board | substrate 11 and the hair | bristle bundle 18, and improves external appearance property (sink). In order to reinforce the adhesive force between the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 or the filler 19, the constituent material of the hair bundle 18 or the filler 19 is partially blended, or the constituent material of the hair bundle 18 or the filler 19 is used. It is also possible to blend materials with adhesiveness by thermal bonding or chemical bonding, or to perform primer treatment.

According to this embodiment, there are the following operations.
(a) Filler 19 is injected into the space (rear filling recess 16) formed on the back side of the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 is fixed and implanted on the substrate 11 before the back side of the substrate 11 is implanted. The base end face of the hair bundle 18 protruding from the hair bundle insertion hole 17 was melt-pressed to form a melt-pressing surface 18A of the hair bundle 18 for closing the hair bundle insertion hole 17 on the back side of the substrate 11.

(b) According to the above (a) , the melt press surface 18A prevents the hair bundle 18 from coming off from the hair bundle insertion hole 17 of the substrate 11, and sufficient flocking strength can be secured.

(c) According to the above (a) , the filler 19 injected into the space on the back side of the substrate 11 (rear filling recess 16) flows smoothly on the melt press surface 18A of the base of the bristle bundle 18 and The collapsing force of the hair bundle 18 with respect to the substrate 11 can be aligned without applying a collision force that is filled in the space (recess 16) and tilts the hair bundle 18 diagonally to the base of the hair bundle 18. Make good. Further, since the hair bundle insertion hole 17 facing the space (recess 16) on the back side of the substrate 11 is blocked by the above-described melt press surface 18A of the hair bundle 18, it is loaded into the space (recess 16). Thus, the filler 19 does not leak into the hair bundle insertion hole 17, and no burr is generated in the planted portion of the hair bundle 18.

(d) By performing melt pressing with the impulse welding machine 100, the hair bundle 18 can be pressed gently without giving mechanical vibrations, so that the melt pressing surface 18A of the hair bundle 18 can be used. It is possible to prevent the fuzziness of the hair bundle 18 from being twisted.

Further, the base end face of the hair bundle 18 protruding from the hair bundle insertion hole 17 on the back side of the substrate 11 is melted with a hot body such as hot air or laser as the first stage heating means, and then the second stage heating means. As described above, melt pressing with the impulse welding machine 100 is preferable because the hair bundle and the hair transplantation strength (pullout strength) of the hair are improved as compared with the case where the heating means is only one stage. The reason why the flocking strength is improved when the two-stage heating means is used is that the hair bundle insertion hole 17 is formed on the back side of the substrate 11 in the non-contact type heat body such as hot air or laser that is the first-stage heating means. In order to heat the entire base portion of the hair bundle 18 protruding from, the melting region in the length direction of the hair is widened and melt-pressed by the second-stage impulse welder, so the melt-pressing surface is wide It is estimated that it is formed over a range.

(e) The rising wall 15 provided on the outer edge of the back surface of the substrate 11 is provided with a concavo-convex shape 15A as shown in FIG. 2D, so that the heating body contacts the surface 15B forming the outer edge shape of the head 14. Therefore, it is possible to prevent the shape of the head 14 from being deformed by the heat of the heat body.

(f) After positioning the head shape holding jig 33 in FIG. 4 on the back side of the head 14, the hair bundle on the back side of the substrate 11 with a hot body (particularly hot air, a contacted hot body such as a laser). By heat-melting the base end face of the hair bundle 18 protruding from the insertion hole 17, a good appearance can be obtained without deforming the shape of the outer edge on the back side by heat.

Further, when the shape holding jig 33 of the head 14 is provided with a cooling mechanism such as water cooling or air cooling, a large amount of heat is required to melt or press the bristle bundle 18 and the substrate 11 and the heat amount or temperature of the heating element is high. In particular, an excessive temperature rise of the shape holding jig 33 of the head 14 can be prevented. Therefore, it is preferable because deformation due to heating around the rising wall 15 of the head 14 and the neck portion 13 can be prevented.

(g) After melt-pressing with the impulse welder 100, the heated portion (molten resin) is cooled and fixed with air or the like, so that when the impulse welder 100 is separated from the heated portion, the molten resin yarn is not drawn, Resin adhesion can be prevented.

(h) After melt-pressing with the impulse welder 100 and further melt-pressing with ultrasonic vibration using the ultrasonic welder 200, the hair bundle 18 is not twisted by applying ultrasonic vibration from the beginning. In addition, by applying ultrasonic vibration, the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 can be melted and fixed by frictional heat over the long length range of the hair bundle 18 while the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 are vibrated. The pulling-out strength of the hair bundle 18 can be strengthened by pressing and firmly bonding them so that they can be mechanically entangled.

(i) Since the press chips 101 and 202 of the impulse welder 100 and the ultrasonic welder 200 are provided with the convex portions 101A and 202A, the mutual melting portion of the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 is formed by the convex portions 101A and 202A. It is possible to enhance the pull-out strength of the bristle bundle 18 by forming an adhesive state so that the two are pushed and mechanically entangled. Even when the substrate 11 and the hair bundle 18 are made of different materials that do not exhibit mutual adhesiveness, they can be bonded in a pseudo manner.
