Abstract
Description
本出願は、米国仮特許出願第60/758,688号(「FITTING FOR TUBE OR PIPE」、2006年1月13日出願)、および米国仮特許出願第60/834,548号(「FITTING FOR TUBE OR PIPE」、2006年7月31日出願)による優先権を主張し、両者はその全体が本明細書において参照により全面的に援用される。
Claims (30)
- 管端用の管継手であって、
管把持装置と、
管端を受ける、軸を中心とする管端ソケット、該管把持装置を受ける、該管端ソケットの軸方向外端に隣接するカム作用口部、および継手分解時に該管端の除去を補助する、該カム作用口部の軸方向に内側のステップ状壁面を有する継手本体と、
該軸を中心とする凹所部であって、該管把持装置を受けるように構成され、該管把持装置を該管端と係合させるための駆動面を含む凹所部、および該駆動面の半径方向に外側の先細の長手面を含む内壁を有するドライブナットと
を備え、
該管把持装置が、継手本締め中に該先細の長手面と接触するように変位させられた場合、該先細の長手面は継手分解中に該ナットを該管把持装置から分離させることを補助する、管継手。 - 前記管把持装置はフェルールを備える、請求項1に記載の管継手。
- 前記管把持装置は第1および第2のフェルールを備え、前記ドライブナットは第1および第2の先細の長手面を備え、該第1および第2の先細の長手面のそれぞれは、継手分解中に該ナットを該第1および第2のフェルールのうちの対応する1つから分離するのを補助するように適合される、請求項1に記載の管継手。
- 前記第1および第2の先細の長手面は、互いに不連続である、請求項1に記載の管継手。
- 管捕捉面、および該管捕捉面と不連続なステップ状壁面を有する継手本体と、
該継手アセンブリが本締め前に手締めした状態である場合、該ステップ状壁面から半径方向に間隔を空けた導管と
を備え、
該導管が、継手本締め中に該ステップ状壁面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、該ステップ状壁面は継手分解時に該継手本体を該導管から分離するのを補助する、継手アセンブリ。 - 前記ステップ状壁面は先細である、請求項5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 前記ステップ状壁面は円錐台形である、請求項5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 前記継手本体は、前記ステップ状壁面の軸方向に外側の凹所に設けられた壁面をさらに備える、請求項5に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 継手アセンブリであって、
先細の長手面を有する雌ネジ付きドライブナットと、
該継手アセンブリが本締め前に手締めした状態である場合、該先細の長手面から半径方向に間隔を空けた管把持部材と
を備え、
該管把持部材が、継手本締め中に該先細の長手面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、該先細の長手面は継手分解時に該ドライブナットを該管把持部材から分離させることを補助する、継手アセンブリ。 - 前記先細の長手面は円錐台形である、請求項9に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 先細の管捕捉面を有する管ソケットおよび該管捕捉面から半径方向に間隔を空けた凹所に設けられた壁面を含む本体と、
継手本締め前は該管捕捉面と軸方向に位置が合っている端部を有する管と
を備え、
該継手アセンブリが本締めされる際、該管ソケットと該管端部との間の係合は、該管ソケットと管端部との間に軸方向および半径方向の反力成分を作り出し、その結果、該継手が緩められると、該軸方向成分力は該管を該本体に対して軸方向に移動させることを補助し、該管端部を該管捕捉面から分離して該凹所に設けられた壁面と軸方向に位置が合うようにし、該本体と該管との間の該半径方向成分力を低減し、それにより、該継手アセンブリの分解中における該本体および該管の分離を補助する、継手アセンブリ。 - 前記管ソケットは、前記管捕捉面と前記凹所に設けられた壁面との間にステップ部分をさらに備える、請求項11に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 前記ステップ部分は先細である、請求項12に記載の継手アセンブリ。
- 継手用のドライブナットであって、
雄ネジ付き継手本体と組み立てるように構成された雌ネジ付き部分と、
第1の管把持部材の少なくとも一部を受けるように構成された凹所部分であって、継手本体への本締め中に該第1の管把持部材を管と係合させるための半径方向の駆動面、および該駆動面の半径方向に外側の先細の長手面を備える内壁を含む凹所部分と
を備え、
該第1の管把持部材が、継手本締め中に該先細の長手面と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、該先細の長手面は継手分解中に該ナットを該第1の管把持部材から分離するのを補助する、ドライブナット。 - 前記凹所部は第1および第2の管把持部材を受けるように適合され、前記内壁は前記駆動面の半径方向に外側の第2の先細の長手面をさらに備え、該第2の管把持部材が、継手本締め中に該第2の先細の長手面と接触するように変位される場合、該第2の先細の長手面は継手分解中に前記ナットを第2の管把持部材から分離するのを補助する、請求項14に記載のドライブナット。
- 前記第1および第2の先細の長手面は不連続である、請求項15に記載のドライブナット。
- 管継手本体との組み立てのために雌ネジ付きドライブナットを提供するステップと、
該ドライブナットおよび管把持装置を該管継手本体と組み立てて本締めする際に、管把持装置の少なくとも一部を係合する先細の長手面を該雌ネジ付きドライブナットの内壁に形成するステップと
を含む、方法。 - 管端を受けるための、軸を中心とする管端ソケットと、
該管端を捕捉するための先細の管捕捉面と、
該管端ソケットの軸方向外端付近のカム作用面と
を備え、
該管端ソケットは、該管捕捉面と該カム作用面との間に軸方向に中間壁面を含み、該中間壁面は、該管捕捉面および該カム作用面のそれぞれと不連続なステップ部分を含む、継手部品。 - 前記中間壁面の前記ステップ部分は先細である、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 前記中間壁面の前記ステップ部分は、前記軸に対して前記管捕捉面よりも著しく小さい角度で先細になっている、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 前記継手部品は雄ネジ付き管継手本体を備える、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 前記継手部品は雌ネジ付き管継手本体を備える、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 前記継手部品は継手取り付け工具を備える、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 前記中間壁面の前記ステップ部分は、前記軸に対して約50分から約1度50分の角度で延び、前記管捕捉面は、該軸に対して約4度の角度で延びる、請求項18に記載の継手部品。
- 継手本体を提供するステップと、
該継手本体内に、軸方向内側の先細の管捕捉面を形成するステップと、
該継手本体内に、軸方向外側の先細のカム作用口部を形成するステップと、
該継手本体内に、該管捕捉面と該カム作用口部との間に軸方向に位置する中間壁面を形成するステップと
を含み、
該中間壁面は、該管捕捉面および該カム作用口部のそれぞれと不連続なステップ部分を含む、方法。 - 管端を受けるためのソケットを備える継手部品であって、該ソケットは、軸方向の長手壁面と、該軸方向の長手壁面の軸方向内端から軸方向に内へおよび半径方向に内へ延びる表面を備える肩部とによって画定され、管端が該ソケット内に挿入されて該肩部に対して軸方向に圧縮された際、該肩部表面は、軸方向圧縮中における該管端の半径方向に外への拡張を低減するために、該管端に対して半径方向に内への旋回力を与えるように構成される、継手部品。
- 前記肩部表面の少なくとも一部は円錐台形である、請求項26に記載の継手部品。
- 前記継手部品は継手本体を備える、請求項26に記載の継手部品。
- 前記継手部品は継手取り付け工具を備える、請求項26に記載の継手部品。
- 前記軸方向の長手壁面はステップ部分を含むため、前記管端が、前記ソケット内の該管端の軸方向圧縮中に該ステップ部分と接触するように半径方向に変位させられた場合、該ステップ部分は分解中に該管端を前記継手部品から分離するのを補助する、請求項26に記載の継手部品。
