Abstract
【解決手段】インク吐出機構群が配置された複数のブロックで構成されるライン型のインクジェットヘッドと、画素毎のインク吐出数を示すデータに基づいて前記インクジェットヘッドのインク吐出機構群に印加するプリパルスを含む駆動電圧信号を生成する駆動信号生成手段とを備えた印刷装置であって、駆動電圧値とプリパルス幅とに関する、ブロックごとの駆動信号調整値を記憶する記憶手段を備え、前記駆動信号生成手段は、前記記憶手段を参照し、それぞれのインク吐出機構について、配置されているブロックに対応した駆動信号調整値を用いて、前記駆動電圧信号を生成することを特徴とする。

Description
また、ノズルユニット2枚を張り合わせずに、2系列のノズル列を設けた1枚のノズルユニット240でブロック230を形成した場合には、図15(a)のような2枚のノズルユニットの張り合わせ精度に起因するドット間隔の不均一を防ぐことができるが、図15(c)に示すように、傾斜配置に起因するドット間隔の不均一は生じ得る。
1ドロップのベタで印刷した色の薄い部分で正常なブロック230よりも色が濃くなり、濃度差が生じることになる。
図3は、本発明を適用したライン型<A NAME="OLE_LINK2"><A NAME="OLE_LINK1">インクジェットプリンタ10の画像形成処理関連の主要な構成の一部を示すブロック図である。本図に示すように、インクジェットプリンタ10は、制御部100とヘッドユニット200とを備えている。
このため、図9の実線に示すように、ドロップ数とインク吐出量との関係が線形にならず、1ドロップの部分が落ち込む特性となる。
Claims (8)
- インク吐出機構群が配置された複数のブロックで構成されるライン型のインクジェットヘッドと、
画素毎のインク吐出数を示すデータに基づいて前記インクジェットヘッドのインク吐出機構群に印加するプリパルスを含む駆動電圧信号を生成する駆動信号生成手段とを備えた印刷装置であって、
駆動電圧値とプリパルス幅とに関する、ブロックごとの駆動信号調整値を記憶する記憶手段を備え、
前記駆動信号生成手段は、前記記憶手段を参照し、それぞれのインク吐出機構について、配置されているブロックに対応した駆動信号調整値を用いて、前記駆動電圧信号を生成することを特徴とする印刷装置。 - <A NAME="OLE_LINK5"><A NAME="OLE_LINK4"> 請求項1に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記ブロックごとの駆動信号調整値は、印刷媒体の種類に応じて定められている画素毎のインク吐出数の最大値ごとに設定されていることを特徴とする印刷装置。 - 請求項2に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記画素毎のインク吐出数の最大値ごとに設定されているブロックごとの駆動信号調整値を不揮発的に記憶する第2記憶手段をさらに備え、
前記記憶手段は、前記第2記憶手段から読み出したブロックごとの駆動信号調整値を記憶することを特徴とする印刷装置。 - 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記駆動信号調整値は、各ブロックに対して、同じ駆動電圧信号を印加した場合に、最大インク吐出数における濃度が他のブロックより薄くなるブロックについて、駆動電圧値が大きくなり、プリパルス幅が狭くなるように設定されていることを特徴とする印刷装置。 - 請求項4に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記ブロックは、インク吐出機構がライン方向に並べられたユニットが2枚張り合わされて構成されていることを特徴とする印刷装置。 - 請求項4に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記ブロックは、インク吐出機構がライン方向に2系列並べられたユニットにより構成されていることを特徴とする印刷装置。
<A NAME="OLE_LINK7"><A NAME="OLE_LINK6"> - 請求項4〜6のいずれか1項に記載の印刷装置であって、
前記最大インク吐出数における濃度が薄くなるブロックは、前記インク吐出機構のライン方向の配置に周期的な偏りがあることを特徴とする印刷装置。 - インク吐出機構群が配置された複数のブロックで構成されるライン型のインクジェットヘッドを備え、画素毎のインク吐出数を示すデータに基づいて前記インクジェットヘッドのインク吐出機構群に印加するプリパルスを含む駆動電圧信号を生成する印刷装置における印刷処理方法であって、
駆動電圧値とプリパルス幅とに関する、ブロックごとの駆動信号調整値を記憶するステップと、
それぞれのインク吐出機構について、配置されているブロックに対応した駆動信号調整値を用いて、前記駆動電圧信号を生成するステップとを有することを特徴とする印刷処理方法。
