紫外線源を備えた上記のような硬化装置は例えば特許文献1に開示されている。
好ましくない、破損した配管は、硬化性の成形剤(修復剤)により現場で新しい配管を形成する、いわゆる更生工法により修理される。この際、硬化性の合成樹脂を浸透させたライニングを修理すべき破損した配管内へと挿入して配置し、その位置でこのライニングが硬化される。尚、硬化性の合成樹脂としては通常紫外線硬化性樹脂が使用される。
即ち、ライニングを圧縮空気により破損した配管の内壁に圧着した後、紫外線ランプを備えた台車が一定の速度でライニング内を走行する。このとき、紫外線硬化樹脂をライニング周囲で均等に硬化させるために、紫外線ランプをライニング或いは配管の軸中心線上に位置させなければならない。
