Abstract
【解決手段】内燃機関の吸気通路18内に、片持ち式の吸気絞り弁19をその一端側を軸にして開閉回動するように設け、この吸気絞り弁19の下流側に、気流形成流路24を形成した流路形成部材23を設ける。そして、吸気絞り弁19の開度が所定開度領域以外の開度領域のときには、吸気絞り弁19の開度に応じて吸気通路18の流路断面積を変化させることで吸入空気量を調整する。一方、吸気絞り弁19の開度が所定開度領域のときには、吸気絞り弁19の開度に応じて気流形成流路24の開口断面積を変化させることで吸入空気量を調整すると共に、吸入空気が気流形成流路24を通ることで燃焼室内に均質な混合気を形成するための気流を形成する。

Description
まず、図1に基づいてエンジン吸気系の概略構成を説明する。内燃機関であるエンジン11の吸気管12には、サージタンク13が設けられ、このサージタンク13には、エンジン11の各気筒に空気を導入する吸気マニホールド14が設けられている。各気筒の吸気マニホールド14には、それぞれ後述する吸気絞り弁ユニット15が取り付けられていると共に、各吸気絞り弁ユニット15の下流側に、それぞれ各気筒の吸気ポート16に向けて燃料を噴射する燃料噴射弁(図示せず)が取り付けられている。また、エンジン11のシリンダヘッドには、各気筒毎に点火プラグ(図示せず)が取り付けられ、各点火プラグの火花放電によって筒内の混合気に着火される。
吸気絞り弁19から燃焼室までの距離が長い場合は、気流形成流路24で発生させた気流が燃焼室に到達する前に減衰して、十分な強度の気流を燃焼室に流入させることができなくなる可能性がある。
図14に示すように、気流形成流路24(トンネル状通路)の入口における気流形成流路24の蓋26側の開口縁部が吸気絞り弁19の軸方向に対して平行(つまり気流形成流路24の蓋26側の開口縁部が吸気絞り弁19の先端部と平行)に形成されていると、気流形成流路24の蓋26の端面部と吸気絞り弁19の先端部とが対向する開度領域において、気流形成流路24の蓋26の厚み分だけ吸気絞り弁19の開度変化に対して流路断面積(つまり吸入空気量)が変化しなくなる不感帯ができてしまう可能性がある。
Claims (8)
- 内燃機関の吸気通路に設けられ、一端側を軸にして開閉回動することで該吸気通路の流路断面積を変化させて吸入空気量を調整する片持ち式の吸気絞り弁と、
前記吸気通路のうちの前記吸気絞り弁の下流側に設けられ、前記吸気絞り弁の開度が所定開度領域のときに吸入空気の流れを整流して混合気の形成を促進する気流を発生させる気流形成流路とを備え、
前記吸気絞り弁の開度が前記所定開度領域のときには前記吸気絞り弁の開度に応じて前記気流形成流路の開口断面積を変化させることで吸入空気量を調整するように構成されていることを特徴とする内燃機関の吸気装置。 - 前記所定開度領域は、暖機制御中のアイドル運転時の吸入空気量以上で平坦路高速定常走行時の吸入空気量以下に相当する開度領域に設定されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
- 前記気流形成流路に沿って蓋を設けることでトンネル状通路が形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
- 各気筒毎にそれぞれ複数の吸気弁が設けられ、
前記トンネル状通路が途中で1気筒の吸気弁の数と同じ数だけ分岐され、各分岐通路の出口からそれぞれ各吸気弁に向けて気流を分流させるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。 - 前記トンネル状通路の出口は、吸気弁で開閉される吸気ポートから燃焼室内に吸い込まれる気流の減衰が小さくなるように形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3又は4に記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
- 前記トンネル状通路の入口における前記蓋側の開口縁部は、前記吸気絞り弁の軸方向に対して傾斜又は湾曲又は屈曲した形状に形成されていることを特徴とする請求項3乃至5のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
- 前記吸気絞り弁のうちの吸入空気流れ方向の下流側(以下「裏側」という)の先端部には、該吸気絞り弁の裏側方向に吸入空気が回り込むことを防止する気流漏れ防止部が裏側に突出するように設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
- 前記吸気通路及び前記吸気絞り弁とは別の材料によって前記気流形成流路が形成された流路形成部材を前記吸気通路内に装着することで前記吸気通路内に前記気流形成流路が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1乃至7のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の吸気装置。
