Abstract
【解決手段】 本発明に係る電界放出装置は基板と、該基板の上に設けられている複数のカソードと、該カソード表面に設けられている複数の電子エミッタとを備え、前記複数の電子エミッタが位置されているカソード表面が突出した曲面であり、従って、該表面に設けられている複数の電子エミッタが発散形の分布を呈する。また、本発明は前記の電界放出装置を用いた電界放出ディスプレイを提供する。

Claims (8)
- 基板と、該基板の上に設けられている複数のカソードと、該カソードの表面に設けられている複数の電子エミッタとを備え、前記複数の電子エミッタが位置されているカソードの表面が突出した曲面であることを特徴とする電界放出装置。
- 前記電子エミッタは前記カソードの表面と大体垂直になり、発散形の分布を呈することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界放出装置。
- 前記カソードは円柱状の金属線であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界放出装置。
- 前記金属線の直径は10μm以上数百μm以下であることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電界放出装置。
- 前記金属線の両端、基板の表面に金属膜が設けられ、前記金属線の両端は金属膜に固定されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電界放出装置。
- 前記基板の上にガラスバルプが設けられ、前記金属線は該ガラスバルプによって基板に固定されることを特徴とする請求項3から6のいずれかの一項に記載の電界放出装置。
- 前記カソードは帯状の金属薄膜であり、そのラジアル断面が弓形を呈することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界放出装置。
- 電界放出装置と、アノードと、該両者の間に設けられているゲート電極とを備え、前記電界放出装置が基板と、該基板の上に設けられている複数のカソードと、該カソードの表面に設けられている複数の電子エミッタからなり、前記複数の電子エミッタが位置されているカソードの表面が突出した曲面であることを特徴とする電界放出ディスプレイ。
