Abstract
Description
1)General Electricの標準製品であるUltem(登録商標)1000と呼ばれているポリマー( 柱状部21及び22)、及び
2)本発明の方法の一実施例に従って製造された、10重量%の割合でマイクロカプセル が混入されたUltem(登録商標)1000に基づくポリマー材料(柱状部23及び24)
を焼き戻し鋼に対して摺動させた結果として得られた比較挙動データを示す。
1)PEEKから成る封止要素(GE Corporation製造のVictrex(登録商標)PEEK 450G、 点々で示された柱状部31)
2)本発明の一実施例に従って約10重量%と等価の量でGargoyl潤滑剤のマイクロカプ セルが混入されたPEEKから成る第2の封止要素(斜線の柱状部32)
の2つを焼き戻し鋼に対して摺動させて実行された摩擦試験の、係数K(in3min/ft/lb/hr)x109で表される結果をまとめた棒グラフ(31及び32)が示されている。
Claims (19)
- 封止要素のための自己潤滑プラスチック材料において、潤滑剤が封入された複数のマイクロカプセルが内部に分散されている耐摩耗性ポリマーマトリクスから構成される材料。
- 前記ポリマーマトリクスはポリケトンから形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の材料。
- 前記ポリケトンは芳香族ポリケトンであることを特徴とする請求項2記載の材料。
- 前記芳香族ポリケトンはポリエーテルエーテルケトン(PEEK)であることを特徴とする請求項3記載の材料。
- 前記ポリマーマトリクスはポリブタジエン−スチレン(PBS)、ポリテトラフルオロエチレン(PTFE)及びその混合物から選択される樹脂から形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1記載の材料。
- 前記マイクロカプセルはポリオキシメチレン尿素(PMU)のシェルから構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1から5のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記マイクロカプセルは5〜500μの平均直径を有することを特徴とする請求項1から6のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記マイクロカプセルは前記ポリマーマトリクス内に2〜30重量%の重量比で分散されていることを特徴とする請求項1から7のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記マイクロカプセル内に封入されている前記潤滑剤は酸性度の低い油であることを特徴とする請求項1から8のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記潤滑剤は、20〜250センチストークス(cSt)の範囲内の粘度を有する流体潤滑剤であることを特徴とする請求項1から9のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記潤滑剤は、機械的強度及び熱伝導率を増加させるために添加剤又は充填材を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項1から10のいずれか1項に記載の材料。
- 前記添加剤は亜鉛、ホウ素及びその混合物より成る群から選択された微量元素であることを特徴とする請求項11記載の材料。
- 摩擦を減少させるための請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の材料の使用。
- 運動中の要素の隣接する面における磨耗を減少させるための請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の材料の使用。
- 自己潤滑材料としての請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の材料の使用。
- 磨耗率を低下させた自己潤滑封止要素としての請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の材料の使用。
- 前記封止要素は往復圧縮機におけるピストンの封止リングである請求項16記載の使用。
- 運動中の隣接する要素の摩擦又は磨耗を減少させる方法において、前記摺動要素の隣接する面の一方は請求項1から12のいずれか1項に記載の自己潤滑材料を具備する方法。
- 対の摺動要素のうちの一方の要素は金属系である請求項18記載の方法。
