Abstract
【解決手段】 2枚の液晶パネル102は、それぞれ両面バックライト装置101の表面及び裏面に対応して配置される。表面側及び裏面側の液晶パネル102には、それぞれ、両面バックライト装置101の端部に固定される回路基板105がTCP104を介して接続される。各TCP104には、それぞれ、第1スリット部143及び第2スリット部144が形成される。両面表示型液晶表示装置100では、表面側の液晶パネル102に接続されるTCP102の折り曲げ位置と、裏面側の液晶パネル102に接続されるTCP102の折り曲げ位置とを異なる位置としてあり、両面バックライト装置101の端部では、回路基板105がその厚み方向に重なるように配置される。

Claims (7)
- 表面及び裏面に発光面を有するバックライト装置の表面側及び裏面側にそれぞれ液晶表示パネルを有する両面表示型液晶表示装置において、
前記表面側及び裏面側の液晶表示パネルにそれぞれ対応して前記バックライト装置の一端面に配設され、該端面からの距離が相互に異なるように支持される2つの回路基板と、
前記液晶表示パネルと、該液晶パネルに対応する回路基板とをそれぞれ接続するテープ・キャリア・パッケージ(TCP)とを備え、
前記TCPはそれぞれ複数の折り曲げ可能位置を有し、前記双方のTCPの折り曲げ位置が相互に異なることを特徴とする両面表示型液晶表示装置。 - 前記双方のTCPは、それぞれ、延長方向に位置が異なる第1及び第2のスリット部を有し、一方のTCPは第1のスリット部で折り曲げられ、他方のTCPは第2のスリット部で折り曲げられている、請求項1に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
- 前記双方のTCPは、複数の折り曲げ位置が選択可能なスリット部をそれぞれ同じ位置に有し、該スリット部における折り曲げ位置が双方のTCPで異なる、請求項1に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
- 前記双方の回路基板は、実質的に同一形状を有し、前記端面と直交方向に見ると重なって配置される、請求項1に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
- 一方の回路基板は前記端面に接して固定され、他方の回路基板は前記端面から離隔して固定される、請求項4に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
- 前記バックライト装置の表面及び裏面の端部付近に形成された溝又は突起にスナップ係合する係合部と、前記一方の回路基板を前記端面に保持する第1の保持部と、前記他方の回路基板を端面から離隔して保持する第2の保持部とを備える固定部材によって前記双方の回路基板を固定する、請求項5に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
- 前記第2の保持部は、前記他方の回路基板をスナップ状に挟み込むかぎ状の爪を有する、請求項6に記載の両面表示型液晶表示装置。
