(2)現実の凹凸模様も利用してスクラッチ意匠を表現した化粧シートであり、層構成が表面側から順に、エンボス加工によるヘアライン状凹凸/透明樹脂層/透明接着剤層/金属蒸着層/樹脂層、の化粧シート(特許文献2)。

(1)の化粧材では印刷によるインキ層の模様のみで外観意匠を再現する為、意匠が単調且つ平面的であり、ヘアライン固有の凹凸外観、即ち、照明光の光入射角度、乃至は観察者の視線角度の変化にともなった光輝性の変化に乏しい。また、基材が樹脂とはいえ板の為、成形加工性が劣る。
(2)の化粧シートでは表面に賦形した現実の凹凸で凹凸外観等が(1)より向上するが、射出成形同時積層法の様な加熱及び応力印加を伴う(化粧シートの)成形加工を行なうと、その熱と応力とにより表面の凹凸が消失する。また、凹凸の凹部内に汚れが溜まり易く、また、溜まった汚れが落とし難いといった問題もある。
(3)の化粧シートでは、ヘアラインの凹凸を再現する盛上インキ層が、外力をまともに受けるため、盛上インキ層が外力で損傷、剥脱し易い。また、単に金属光沢層上に盛上インキ層を形成したのみの為、ヘアライン調のスクラッチ意匠が単調で、深み、鮮鋭性に乏しい。しかも、上記(2)同様に、表面の凹凸の凹部内に汚れが溜まり易く、また溜まった汚れが落とし難いという問題がある。そこで、盛上インキ層には、より硬質の電離放射線硬化性樹脂を用い、印刷凹版内でインキを硬化させた下記(4)の化粧シート発案された。
(4)の化粧シートでは、印刷装置やインキがいずれも特殊で且つ高価なものとなる。また、大きく突出した盛上インキ層は、外部からの力を受けると応力が集中し易く、上記(3)よりは良好ではあるが、やはり、外力でヘアライン模様が損傷し易い。また、凹凸の凹部内に汚れが溜まり易いく、また溜まった汚れが落とし難いという問題がある。
