Abstract
【解決手段】 VCT機構において、凹部12に対して係脱自在なロックピン11と、角度関係を調整して維持するために加圧流体の流れを制御するスプール22と、一組の通路とを設ける。スプール22には、流体源から凹部12に向かって流れかつ凹部12から流体排出口に向かって流れる加圧流体のタイミングを制御する第1のランド18が設けられている。一組の通路は、流体源および第2の端部と流体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有する第1の通路15と、第1の通路15の第2の端部と流体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有し、凹部12と流体連絡する第2の端部を有する第2の通路23と、第2の通路23の第1の端部と流体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有し、流体排出口と流体連絡する第2の端部を有する第3の通路16とから構成されている。

Description
内燃機関は、エンジン性能を改良しまたは排ガスを低減させるために、クランクシャフトに対するカムシャフトの角度を位相調整する種々の機構を採用してきた。このような機構の一つは、可変カムシャフトタイミング(VCT)機構である。
上記流体が作動流体であるということが注目されるべきである。作動流体は、ベーン位相器内でベーンを移動させる流体のことである。典型的には、作動流体はエンジンオイルを含んでいるが、これとは別個の作動流体である。

Claims (7)
- カムシャフトとクランクシャフトとの間、または加圧流体を使用する他のシャフトとの間の角度関係を調整して維持するための可変カムシャフトタイミング(VCT)機構であって、角度関係を調整して維持するために、流体源から流体排出口まで流れる加圧流体を使用する位相器を有しており、前記VCT機構は、
(i)凹部12と係合するように設けられたロックピン11を備え、
凹部12内には加圧流体が流入してロックピン11が凹部12から係合解除するよ うに許容されており、
(ii) 角度関係を調整して維持するために加圧流体の流れを制御するスプール22を有す るスプールバルブを備え、
スプール22には第1のランド18が設けられており、第1のランド18は、流体 源から凹部12に向かって流れるとともに凹部12から流体排出口に向かって流れる 加圧流体のタイミングを制御するように配置されており、
(iii)内部に流体が流れるように配置された一組の通路8,9,10,15,16,23 を備え、
前記一組の通路が、
(a)内部に流体が流れるように配置されるとともに、流体源および第2の端部と流 体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有する第1の通路15と、
(b)内部に流体が流れるように配置されるとともに、第1の通路15の第2の端部 と流体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有し、凹部12と流体連絡する第 2の端部を有する第2の通路23と、
(c)内部に流体が流れるように配置されるとともに、第2の通路23の第1の端部 と流体連絡するように配置された第1の端部を有し、流体排出口と流体連絡する 第2の端部を有する第3の通路16と、
を有している、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
スプールバルブが、第2の通路23の第1の端部と第1の通路15の第2の端部との間の流体連絡を制御するように設けられている、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
スプールバルブが、第2の通路23の第1の端部と第3の通路16の第1の端部との間の流体連絡を制御するように設けられている、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
スプールバルブが、位相器の内部に配置される中央取付けのスプールバルブである、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
前記他のシャフトがカムシャフトまたはクランクシャフトである、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
前記一組の通路が、位相器のアドバンスチャンバまたはリタードチャンバに流体連絡するように配置されている、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。 - 請求項1において、
前記VCT機構がカムトルク駆動(CTA)型のVCTシステムである、
ことを特徴とするVCT機構。
