本発明は自動車用シートに関し、特に自動車の急減速時に乗員の前方への移動を確実に阻止するようにした自動車用シートに関するものである。

従来、自動車が急減速した場合に、乗員が慣性によって前方に移動するのを防止するための手段としてシートベルトが設けられているが、乗員の腰部がシートクッションに沈み込みながら前方に移動するのに対して有効に作用しないことがあるという問題があった。

このような問題に対処するため、シートクッションに、正規着座状態で乗員の腰部の前部に位置するようにパイプなどのクロス部材をシートクッションの横幅方向にかけ渡して配設し、このクロス部材で乗員の腰部を受け止めて前方移動を抑制することも提案されている。

しかし、シートクッションの前部にパイプなどのクロス部材を配設すると、乗員の座り心地が悪くなり、ドライブの快適性を阻害するという問題があり、一方座り心地に影響しない位置までクロス部材の配置位置を下げると、乗員の前方移動防止効果が得られなくなるという問題があるため、例えば特開平5−238297号公報や特開平7−81466号公報等に開示されているように、常時はクロス部材を下方位置に保持しておき、衝突時など急減速時に作動する駆動手段にて適当な連動手段を介してクロス部材を上方に強制的に移動させるように構成したサブマリン防止装置が提案されている。

しかし、そのようなサブマリン防止装置は構成が複雑でコスト高になるとともに重量が大きくなるという問題があり、そこで本出願人は先に、シートクッションの前部の内部に、シートクッションの幅方向に延びる受止部材を上下方向に移動自在に配設するとともに、受止部材を上方に移動付勢する手段を設け、急減速時の慣性力で作動して受止部材の上下方向の移動を阻止するロック手段を設け、シートクッション上に乗員が着座したときには受止部材が容易に下方に移動し、異物感が緩和されて座り心地が悪化することはなく、かつ急減速時には慣性力でロック手段が作動して受止部材の下方移動が阻止され、乗員の腰部の前方移動がこの受止部材で確実に受け止められるようにしたサブマリン防止装置を提案しており、これによれば、押し上げ機構や駆動手段を必要とせず、軽量・安価に構成できる。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下、本発明の自動車用シートの一実施形態について、図1、図2を参照して説明する。なお、基本構成は、図3を参照して説明した従来例と同一であり、同一の構成要素には同一の参照符号を付して説明する。

図1において、1は自動車用シート、2はそのシートクッションで、左右両側のシートレール20にて前後位置を調整可能にフロア上に取付けられている。シートレール20は、車体のフロアに固定されたロアレール21に対してアッパレール22が摺動及び任意位置で固定可能に装着されている。シートクッション2のシートクッションフレーム3はアッパレール22に固着された支持ブラケット23を介してアッパレール22にて支持されている。

本発明の自動車用シートによれば、以上のように急減速時に乗員の腰部を受け止める受止部材をシートクッション内の前部に上下移動可能に配設し、かつシートクッションフレームにスプリング支持部材を前後方向に沿わせて幅方向に複数並列して配設した自動車用シートにおいて、スプリング支持部材を、受止部材の配置位置に対応する部分の1つの波形状をその両側の谷部分を中心に下方に旋回させた形状に成形したので、上方からの荷重の負荷によって受止部材が下方に移動する際に、上記1つの波形状にて形成されたU字状の凹入部に入り込むためスプリング支持部材と干渉せず、かつスプリング支持部材のばね特性が殆ど変化しないためシートクッションのクッション性に悪影響を与えることがなく、さらに急減速時に受止部材が乗員の腰部からの衝撃荷重を受けて斜め前方下方に屈曲する際に下方に旋回させた波形状の前方の傾斜面に当接して上向きにガイドされて受止部材が上方に移動するため、乗員の腰部を受止部材で確実に受け止めることができ、乗員が前方に移動するのを確実に抑制できる。
