Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.光ファイバー;及び 前記光ファイバー上にある硬化第一次被覆 を含む被覆光ファイバーであって、前記第一次被覆を、光ファイバー上に残って いる第一次被覆のある部分から離れてるようにガラス繊維の縦軸に対して平行な 方向において、約40℃〜約200℃の温度範囲で力を作用させ、次いで任意な 工程としてアルコールが染み込んでいる布片又は紙片で拭き取ることにより、倍 率2倍で観察したときに第一次被覆の残留物を実質的に全く有していない光ファ イバーの剥離部分が得られる前記被覆光ファイバー。 2.第一次被覆を、剥離される長さ30ミリメートル当たり2倍の倍率で視認 することができる粒子を20個未満残すという割合まで力を作用させたときに、 前記温度で剥離させることができる請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 3.第一次被覆を、剥離される長さ30ミリメートル当たり2倍の倍率で視認 することができる粒子を全く残さないという割合まで力を作用させたときに、前 記温度で剥離させることができる請求項2記載の被覆光ファイバー。 4.硬化前の被覆が、せいぜい約60℃の凝固点を有する請求項1記載の被覆 光ファイバー。 5.凝固点が、せいぜい約25℃である請求項4記載の被覆光ファイバー。 6.凝固点が、約0℃〜約60℃である請求項4記載の被覆光ファイバー。 7.凝固点が、約5℃〜約25℃である請求項6記載の被覆光ファイバー。 8.第一次被覆を、相対湿度50%及び室温で180°剥離試験によって測定 した場合に50g未満の剥離力によって支持体から除去することができ、AST MD−882で測定した場合に少なくとも約75%の破断点伸び及びASTMD −882で測定した場合に少なくとも約80psiの引張強さを有する材料から作 る請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 9.剥離力が、20g未満の力である請求項8記載の被覆光ファイバー。 10.剥離力が、15g未満の力である請求項9記載の被覆光ファイバー。 11.剥離力が、約5〜約15gの力である請求項10記載の被覆光ファイ バー。 12.破断点伸びが、少なくとも約90%である請求項8記載の被覆光ファイ バー。 13.破断点伸びが、少なくとも100%である請求項8記載の被覆光ファイ バー。 14.破断点伸びが、約100〜約150%である請求項8記載の被覆光ファ イバー。 15.引張強さが、少なくとも約100psiである請求項8記載の被覆光ファ イバー。 16.引張強さが、少なくとも約120psiである請求項15記載の被覆光フ ァイバー。 17.引張強さが、少なくとも約120〜約300psiである請求項15記載 の被覆光ファイバー。 18.該第一次被覆層が、硬化反応生成物として、1種類以上のアクリレート 又はメタクリレートを末端基とするウレタンオリゴマーを約10〜約80重量% 含む請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 19.該第一次被覆層(b)が、反応生成物であるアクリレート又はメタクリ レートを末端基とするオリゴマーに加えて: (i)アルキル基中に6〜18個の炭素原子を有するアルキルアクリレー トモノマー及びアルキルメタクリレートモノマー; (B)(A)の反応性末端基と反応することができる少なくとも1つの末端 基で終わっているモノマー希釈剤を約5重量%〜約80重量%; (C)光開始剤を約0重量%〜約10重量%;及び (D)硬化中に第一次被覆組成物と結合する有機官能シラン定着剤を約0〜 約3重量% 上記%の全ては、(A),(B),(C)及び(D)の総重量を基準とする重 量%であり、硬化させたときの被覆組成物の引張弾性率は25℃で約500psi 未満であり、硬化被覆組成物の屈折率は少なくとも1.48である から成る放射線硬化反応生成物を含む請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 27.該第一次被覆が、以下の成分:すなわち、 (1)1種類以上のアクリレート又はメタクリレートを末端基とする脂肪族 ポリエーテルウレタンオリゴマーを約10〜約80重量%; (2)1種類以上のモノマー希釈剤を約10〜約75重量%; (3)光開始剤を約0〜約10重量%;及び (4)硬化中に第一次被覆組成物と結合する有機官能シラン定着剤を約0〜 約3重量% 上記%の全ては、全ての上記成分の重量を基準とする重量%である から成る放射線硬化反応生成物を含む請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 28.オリゴマー及び1種類以上のモノマー希釈剤を、オリゴマーと1種類以 上のモノマー希釈剤との混合物が25℃で液体であるように選択する請求項27 記載の被覆光ファイバー。 29.該第一次被覆が、脂肪族ポリエーテルウレタンアクリレートオリゴマー と、ラウリルアクリレート、又はノニルフェニルエトキシアクリレートから成る 群より選択されるモノマーと、ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトンから成 る群より選択される光開始剤と、チオジエチレンビス(3,5−ジ−t−ブチル −4−ヒドロキシヒドロシンナメート)から成る群より選択される酸化防止剤と 、イソオクチル−3−メルカプトプロピオネートから成る群より選択される連鎖 移動剤と、3−メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシランから成る群より選択され るシランカップリング剤を混合重量を基準として5重量%未満と、3−アミノプ ロピルトリメトキシシランから成る群より選択される安定剤との硬化混合物を含 む請求項1記載の被覆光ファイバー。 30.請求項1記載の光ファイバーを複数とマトリックス材料とを含み、前記 複数の光ファイバーが前記マトリックス材料によって平行な配列で一緒に保持さ れている光学リボン。 31.光ファイバー上に被覆された第一次被覆を含む、添え継ぎのための被覆 光ファイバーを調製する方法であって、以下の工程:すなわち、 前記第一次被覆の中にブレードで切れ込みを入れることによって、約40℃〜 約200℃の温度範囲において、光ファイバーのある部分から第一次被覆を剥離 する工程、次に光ファイバーに対して平行な方向において前記ブレードによって 第一次被覆に関して力を作用させて、光ファイバーの部分から第一次被覆を除去 する工程、及び 任意に、アルコールが染み込んでいる布片又は紙片を用いて、第一次被覆が除 去された光ファイバーの部分を拭き取る工程、 前記剥離部分は、倍率2倍で観察したときに、剥離された部分の長さ30ミリメ ートル当たりに第一次被覆の残留物を殆ど又は全く認めることができない、を含 む前記方法。 32.以下の工程:すなわち、 請求項31記載の方法にしたがって添え継ぎするための2本の光ファイ バーを調製する工程; 調製された光ファイバーの剥離部分を整列させる工程;及び 調製された光ファイバーの剥離部分を接合させる工程 を含む被覆光ファイバーを添え継ぎする方法。 33.請求項32記載の方法によって作られる添え継ぎされた光ファイバー。 34.光ファイバー; 上記光ファイバー上に被覆された第一次被覆 を含む被覆光ファイバーであって、前記第一次被覆が、相対湿度50%及び室温 で180°剥離試験によって測定した場合に50g未満の剥離力によってガラス 支持体から除去することができ、ASTMD−882で測定した場合に少なくと も約75%の破断点伸び及びASTMD−882で測定した場合に少なくとも約 80psiの引張強さを有する材料から作られる前記被覆光ファイバー。 35.(1)以下の成分:すなわち、 (A)(i)ポリエーテルポリオール、炭化水素ポリオール、ポリカーボネ ートポリオール、及びポリイソシアネートポリオールから成る群より選択される 少なくとも1種類のポリオールと;(ii)完全に脂肪族のポリイソシアネートと ;(iii)反応性末端基を供給する末端キャップモノマーとの反応生成物である 反応性末端基を有するウレタンオリゴマーを約10重量%〜約90重量%;
