Abstract

Each optical unit (98, 104, 110) has a mounting plate (96, 102, 108) that secures the optical unit (98, 104, 110) to an inspection station (30) such that the first light source (34) and the first light sensor (36) is located in a vertical plane, while the second and third light sources (40, 44), as well as the second and third light sensors (42, 46) are located on opposite sides of the vertical plane as mirror images of each other. On the mounting plates (96, 102, 108), the optical components (98, 104, 110) and, thus, there are connecting pins (192) and openings (166) enabling the examination of mouthpiece containers (32) of different diameters.
