Abstract
Η Α/Γ χαμηλών ταχυτήτων ανέμου είναι οριζοντίου άξονα τύπου έλικας έχει σαν βάση την συμβατική πτερωτή ρότορα που φέρει κατά κανόνα 3 συμβατικά πτερύγια 1, ενώ στο διάκενο ανάμεσα σε δύο πτερύγια 1, και αντιδιαμετρικά προς το τρίτο πτερύγιο, τοποθετείται ένα πρόσθετο τέταρτο πτερύγιο 2 επίσης τύπου έλικας αλλά σημαντικά μεγαλύτερου μήκους. Το πρόσθετο αυτό πτερύγιο 2 δεν είναι μόνιμα συνδεδεμένο αλλά συμπλέκεται επιλεκτικά στο σύστημα της Α/Γ σε χαμηλές ταχύτητες ανέμου, συνεισφέροντας στην εκκίνηση της Α/Γ και στην πρόσθετη παραγωγή ενέργειας. Το πτερύγιο φέρει αντιδιαμετρικά ένα αντίβαρο 15 προκειμένου να εξισορροπήσει τις δυνάμεις που αναπτύσσονται, και περιστρέφεται σε ένα επίπεδο παράλληλο προς την βασική πτερωτή. Η σύμπλεξη του πτερυγίου γίνεται κατά προτίμηση από τη θέση στάσης του συστήματος Α/Γ, ενώ η αποσύμπλεξή του σε υψηλές ταχύτητες ανέμου γίνεται και από τη θέση λειτουργίας. Το πτερύγιο παραμένει κατακόρυφο και στερεωμένο πάνω στον ιστό 3, κατά την παραμονή του εκτός λειτουργίας.
