Abstract
Novelty: a public information point autonomously energized by photovoltaic cells and providing access to the internet and recharging of cellular phones is disclosed. Constitution: photovoltaic cells, a construction supporting these last, a box containing the electric board and the batteries, a modem for Internet access, an information-displaying screen and chargers covering most types of cellular phones circulating in the market. Advantages: use of environmentally friendly and economically affordable renewable energy sources for its operation; use of low-voltage, 12V power- supplying system and interconnected devices so that no inverter increasing the power consumption and the system cost is needed for dc to ac modification; displacement to another installation point with no connection to the mains power network or other power providers; combination of the information display with other utilizations such as access to the Internet and recharging of cellular phones.
