A tray or box for fruit &c. and of the kind having upstanding projections to space the base of a box above from the contents has doubled side walls and extensions from an opposed pair of the walls forming corner sockets for posts providing the projections. The box is bent up from a single blank of cardboard, fibre &c. comprising a base 1, side and end walls 2, 3 with bent over lining flaps 5, 4, and end flaps 6 on the walls 3 sandwiched between the parts 2, 4, the lining flaps having end extensions 7 creased at 7b, 7c so that when the walls are erected and the part 7a sandwiched between the parts 2, 4 the part 7c forms with the side 3 and part of the end flaps 6 a triangular tubular housing in which posts 8 can be placed projecting above the walls to space the boxes when stacked. The upper corners of the side walls 4 have tongues 9 which are bent into the upper ends of the housings to maintain the box in erected position. The ends 4a of the lining of flaps 4 are foldable at 4b so as to be flush against the parts 7e and take into slots 10 in the walls 5. Ventilation holes 11 may be provided in the base 1 and may be angular shaped to prevent sealing by fruit. The boxes may be strengthened by supplementary bases also ventilated, and the corners of the supplementary bases may project through slots in the base and bend back to produce shoulders to locate the box on the corner posts 8 of the box below.
