Abstract
997,521. Two-part couplings. SIEMENS & HALSKE A.G. March 16, 1964 [March 18, 1963], No. 10956/64. Heading H2E. A coaxial cable connector which has a conductive gland sleeve 5 that is inserted between the braided wire outer screening layer 18 and the insulating sheathing 19 of the outer concentric conductor 20, has a portion of the axial length of its bore terminating at the clamping end 7. The splayed ends of outer conductor 20 are clamped against surface 4 of an outer conductive sleeve 2 which is connected via a conductive ring 1 to the housing 3 by screwing sleeve 11 and clamping nut 12 into position. Also the braided-wire screening 18 is clamped against the gland sleeve 5 by the tapered collet tongues 13. The terminal parts 10 of beryllium bronze, for receiving the central conductor 9 and a plug or socket contact 16 made of brass are positioned within an insulating disc 15 which can be formed as an injection moulding. Grub screw 8 made of insulating material provides a means of compensating errors.
