Abstract
995,684. Storing liquefied gas. METAL CONTAINERS Ltd. May 22, 1964 [May 24, 1963], No. 20815/63. Heading F4P. A container for storing liquefied gas, e.g. butane, comprises a porous shell 11, 12 provided with an internal lining 13 impermeable to gas and liquid at normal temperatures, but permeable when heated to a predetermined temperature so that dangerously high pressures are prevented from building up in the container. The porous shell comprises an inner wall 12 and a snugly fitting outer wall 11, both formed from resin impregnated fibres. The lining 13 may be made of a material including a copolymer of epoxy resin and a synthetic rubber on the base of alkenepolysulfide; a monopolymer of alkenepolysulfide; an epoxy/polyester copolymer; or a polyester based on isophatalic acid and/or adipic acid.
