Abstract

982,779. Self-propelled missiles. ENGLISH ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. July 8, 1963 [July 10, 1962], No. 26579/62. Heading F3A. [Also in Division B7] An aerial vehicle, such as a missile, has movable wings 15 fitted on its forward or central part, and a stabilizer mounted aft of the wings for free rotation about the longitudinal axis of the vehicle and having at least three fixed incidence stabilizing fins 17 each mounted in a plane radial to the longitudinal axis. As described, there are four fins 17 fixed to a sleeve 18 mounted by ball-bearings on the rear end of the missile which is divided into compartments containing radar equipment 11, guidance and control equipment 12, the useful load or warhead 13, and a solid fuel rocket motor 14 having an exhaust nozzle 16.
