Abstract
985,181. Relay circuits. HIRST ELECTRONIC Ltd. Dec. 2, 1963 [Sept. 20, 1962], No. 35886/62. Heading H2H. A circuit for energizing a relay coil 16 for a given period irrespective of the period that a switch 20 is closed comprises a capacitor 18 which is discharged through a diode 21 and coil 16 when the switch 20 is closed, causing contacts 16b to change over allowing another capacitor 23 to discharge through parallel paths comprising the lower part of a potentiometer 27, and the upper part of potentiometer 26, a diode 25 and the coil 16, which coil remains energized until capacitor 23 is discharged. Until switch 20 is released, capacitor 18 cannot recharge through diode 19. A switch 24 and capacitor 22 give an alternative folding time for the relay. A contact 16a controls an external circuit 20. Another circuit is described in the Specification whereby the capacitor 18 is charged on closure of the switch 20.
