971,536. Fuel injection pumps. SOC. ANON. POUR L'EXPLOITATION DES PROCEDES CHIMIQUES ET PHYSIQUES. Nov. 2, 1960 [Nov. 12, 1959], No. 37709/60. Heading F1A. A fuel injection piston 3 is reciprocated and rotated whereby a slot 8 therein distributes fuel successively to outlets 5 which are so arranged that they are all slightly opened to the cylinder bore at the bottom of the piston stroke whereby the pressure in the outlets is equalised. The inlet passage 4 communicates with the cylinder through longitudinal grooves 7, annular groove 9 and passages 10, 11 throughout the suction stroke so that the outlets 5 also communicate with the inlet at the bottom of the piston stroke. The output may be regulated by a shuttle hydraulically actuated by an auxiliary pump piston 3a.
