979,735. Sponges; soap applicators; reservoir pads. L.D. SCHERMULY. Nov. 28, 1963 [Nov. 28, 1962], No. 44938/62. Headings A4K and A4V. An applicator for soap, blocks of cleaning composition or viscous material e.g. for cleaning cars, windows &c., comprises a body 1 of sponge material having a cavity 2 formed therein to receive the soap &c. and provided with a tapered inlet 3 opening on the side 6 of the body, a correspondingly tapered, removable plug 4 with a handle loop 5 being provided to close the inlet. The body and plug are preferably formed of foamed cellulose sponge the body being moulded in two parts each having a part of the cavity formed therein and the parts being stuck together by cement.
